Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition Guide

Random Characters in GTA IV for Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition

Random Characters in GTA IV

Overview

There are total 14 random character encounters. I’ll show you all of them with details.

Information

Random Characters are minor characters found standing on the street in Grand Theft Auto IV, its episodes, and Chinatown Wars. Their presence is indicated by a small blue person icon on the radar (white in the DLCs). They provide Niko Bellic, Johnny Klebitz, Luis Fernando Lopez and Huang Lee with small storylines and minor missions. Some random characters only appear at certain times of the day. When Niko, Johnny or Luis enters their vicinity, the characters can usually be seen waving or otherwise trying to get the player’s attention.

The achievement/trophy “No More Strangers” for GTA IV involves locating all of them and helping each one out at least once (some random characters return in different areas of the map, with different problems to solve). Most of the random character missions are required for completion. This is one of the more difficult aspects of completion without a guide as the icons only appear when Niko is close to the person, and some, such as Ilyena, are located where Niko might not travel in the normal course of missions or friendship outings. This is rectified in the DLCs which place the icons on the map irrespective of the player’s location.

One random encounter in GTA IV, Gracie Ancelotti, is not marked on the map with the icon, while one encounter in The Ballad of Gay Tony, Daisie Cash-Cooze, does not always trigger, even when her icon is on the screen.

10 of them required for 100% completion, rest of 4 are not required.

Note: you have to wait from several in-game days to a week to trigger the second/third encounter. To fast-forward time simply sleep in a safehouse.

Thanks & Credit

Thank you for checking out my guide, I hope it was helpful. While making this guide I was tired and bored, so this guide little bit fast prepared. Maybe in the future I’ll be making the list more detailed & fancy. 🙂
