Overview
Improve gameplay! Reduce mouse lag! Increase your mouse responsiveness! Precisely aim your enemies! How to do that? Just disable VSync!
Disable VSync (in-game option)
Go to Options → Video settings → VSync = OFF
Just that, easy enough!
This in-game option has been added in the 2013-04-04 update.
Disable vsync (NVIDIA Control Panel – not needed anymore)
Duke Nukem 3D Megaton Edition has vsync enabled by default, and has no in-game option to disable it. A game update on 2013-04-04 added an in-game setting for VSync, so you don’t need to use the NVIDIA Control Panel anymore.
As consequence of VSync, there is severe mouse lag. There is a quick and solution for that, if you have a NVIDIA card.
- Go to NVIDIA Control Panel, by right-clicking on the desktop or on the nvidia icon at system tray, or by finding it inside Windows Control Panel.
- Go to 3D Settings → Manage 3D settings.
- Go to the second tab: Program Settings.
- Select a program to customize, most likely you will click on “Add” button and select “duke3d.exe” from the list.
- Scroll down the settings list, find Vertical sync and select Off.
- Enjoy!
