Overview
When I first started playing The Isle, I wouldn’t have been able to find my way around anywhere without a guide. And by guide, I mean a fellow player willing to lead me along. Now that I know the map, I became others’ guide. But for when someone isn’t around to lend a hand, here is a quick cheat sheet 😀 Welcome to Region 2
Maps!
Now a quick tip to anyone that doesn’t know, or is uncomfortable with coordinates almost all water locations on this map are near a large, smooth, tan colored rock formation. So when in doubt, climb a hill and look around 🙂 And if you want to know how to read coords, a quick explanation in next section 🙂
Understanding Coords (hitting Insert) and General Info
This screen can be brought up by hitting “Insert” unless your settings are different. Sometimes you may need to hit “Alt” or “Fn” with it. This is the general info screen for your bleed (bl), health (hl), stamina, food and water.
Coordinates can be found on this screen also. This screenshot was taken at
position [-84,496.133, -74,816.359, -9,686.466].
If you were telling someone where you were, you’d say you were at -84 -74. That is all the info you need and the only numbers you ever need to look at 🙂 DON’T go here… you’ll be stuck forever…
The quickest way to get used to coords is to walk in a few circles. Figure out which direction makes each number more positive or more negative and closer to where you need to go.
Food & Water levels should be above 80 in order to heal 🙂

Lake Screenshots and Common “Names
I know already some will disagree with the names of lakes, but I’ve been told so many variations. The names I use are the ones that seem to be more widely accepted 🙂
Spawn Lake often abbreviated SL
(-50, 130)
Its a bit in the distance, tried to get the scope of it. Pictured at what is most widely known as the Fat End, or Carn Side. The Herb side is at the other end, skinny end, where plant life is edible.
Cannonball
(126, 76)
Apptly named for the ability to dive in from the cliff above. But don’t actually jump… more often then not, you end up extinct lol Just run off the edge
The Twins
(-50, -120)
The largest body of water on this map. Hard to find through a dense forest. Almost two seperate lakes, but where they join, a ruined bridge stands. First screenshot taken from a hill overlooking, Cliffside would be behind us. Second, taken from its banks
Cliffside
(-17, -38)
A fairly large lake, seems to be a passing point for nearly everyone. So don’t let your guard down while resting here! Allos love to hide in these bushes..
Oasis
(26, -34)
This one can be found on the mountains above Cliffside. The enterance to it, aka the Ramp, can be found opposite the Ruins.
Island
(136, -13)
This little lake can be found not too far from Cliffside as well. Its usually very quiet there.
Hidden
(-99, 62)
Also usually quiet unless a herd decides to come by. This little lake is quite thoroughly surrounded by forest.
SIDE NOTE
SL vs TWINS
I walked as a Galli around the banks of both SL and Twins.
Every 20 steps I would write down the coords, down to the hundred thousands place, to be as accurate as possible.
Plotted the points onto a graph to get shape of lakes.
Found approximate area of shapes = the approximate surface area of each lake
SL
- 40 total data points
- Circumference approx. 27units
- Surface area of SL approx. 13.94units squared
TWINS
- 48 total data points
- Circumference approx. 40.75units
- Surface area of Twins approx. 33.52units squared
I cannot speak for the volume of the lakes. But based off of surface area alone, The Twins is far larger then SL. 😀
Landmarks
Ruins
(43, 17)
Looks to be some sort of building or temple ruins on the map. Not far from Oasis, SL or Cliffside.
Temple
(-65, -82)
Seems to be an old Sun Temple of sorts. Very near The Twins.
Center Valley
(19, 38)
This just seems to be a crossroads. You can reach every main area very simply from here 🙂
Holes of Death
Here is a quick list of coords for where NOT to go… you can not get out..
and if the server does not allow suicides… you.are.stuck.
- -50, 9
- -84, -74
(feel free to let me know of any areas you guys know of too, the list is short for now.)
