Overview
This tutorial shows you how to do succesful renewable landings of rocket parts (for recovery). Similar to the SpaceX Falcon 9 Renewable rockets. Can carry up to a 2m size loads, and can deploy it to spacestation orbits. Due to the re-landing nature of the rocket, it can save lots of ingame $$$.
Tutorial on Renewable Rockets
This tutorial shows you how to do succesful renewable landings of rocket parts (for recovery). Similar to the SpaceX Falcon 9 Renewable rockets. Can carry up to a 2m size loads, and can deploy it to spacestation orbits. Due to the re-landing nature of the rocket, it can save lots of ingame $$$.
1. Build the rocket. I used 1 monster stage with 1 smaller stage (both stages with either probe or manned cores). Note, this method only works with 2 stages due to tracking issues that result in deleted vehicles if too out of sight.

2. Launch the vehicle.

3. At a vertical velocity of about 200m/s, tilt the ship to 45 degrees and continue ascent.

4. With about 1/8 of the main stage fuel tank/s, cut the thrust.

5. Fire the second stage.

6. IMMEDIATELY switch to map view and select the first stage as ‘Target.

7. Continue second stage flight until it will go into a decent semi-orbital trajectory.

8. Switch back to first stage, and let it fly towards the surface, and at about 2000-3000m (due to aerobraking), fire the thrusters to slow it down (Note, fully thrusting it is inefficient, so have a rough prediction of thrust to slow it to approximately 0 on landing).

9. Decelerate the ship to less than 8m/s for landing on the water or other surface (extending the landing legs helps slightly).

10. Go back to the flight of the second stage, and fly to your desired orbit.

I hope this tutorial helped.
It took me a long time to work out how to do this, and wasnt easy.
