Overview

A help with following quests: The Fade: Lost in Dreams, A test of Faith, Lost Nugs, The Black Viles, The Scrolls of BanastorThese quest contain riddles or require you to find easely missable object. This guide should help you avoid an frustration with them.There is also a short guide to help you win the Landsmeet without the support of the queen, if you are interested.

Backpacks

Maximum backpack capacity you can reach is 125. After that you will not be able to buy more upgrades. You can buy backpack upgrades in following locations:

Ostagar – Quartermaster (2)

  • before the Korcari Wilds
  • after the Korcari Wild

Camp – Bodahn (3)

  • during the initial visit of the camp (after Lothering)
  • any subsequent visit before the Nature of the Beast quest
  • any subsequent visit after Nature of the Beast quest

Circle of Magi – Quartermaster (1)

Dalish Camp – Varathorn (1)

Denerim Market Districk – Gorim (1)

Awakening – Yuriah, Vigil’s Keep main hall (4)

  • 1st is available from the start. The rest becomes available as you expand his stock.

1. Position three party members on Left 3, Left 6, and Right 2. Move the fourth party member to the end of the second bridge section.

2. Move the party member that is on Left 3 to Right 4, and the party member on Right 2 to Left 1. Move your fourth party member to the end of the third section.

3. Move the character on Left 6 to Right 5, and the character on Right 4 to Left 5. Move your party member to the other side of the bridge. Now the whole bridge will fill in and the entire party can move across.

Lost Nugs

1. South of the Nug Wrangler, near the Deep Roads entrance.
2. North of the Nug Wrangler, off to the left.
3. On the bridge in front of the Orzammar Proving (renders slowly, you need to walk the bridge).
4. Hiding in the alleyway past Janar Armorers, next to Filda.
5. Next to Brother Burkel.

Black Vials

  • 1) Toppled Statue in the desecrated chapel in the Senior Mage Quarters.
  • 2) Glass phylactery in one of the Back Alley random encounters in Denerim. In this encounter you start on a stone platform up a set of steps and the glass phylactery is on the platform with you. It is the same encounter during which bandits trap one of your party members by dropping a portcullis that must be lifted using a lever. (This vial can only be found during this one and only random encounter, so be sure to pick it up!)
  • 3) Glass phylactery in a room in Orzammar Royal Palace (the eastern-most room/kitchen).
  • 4) Glass phylactery near the centre of Caridin’s Cross.
  • 5) Glass phylactery in the far bottom room on the right side of Lower Ruins in Brecilian Forest. The glass phylactery is directly in front upon entrance. It resembles a pile of filth with two vases sticking out of it.
  • 6) Glass phylactery in Werewolf Lair, the top left room in the middle of the map.

Scrolls of Banastor

  • Senior Mage Quarters of the Circle Tower: Ancient Texts in the southeast ruined room. In the same room as the first 3 blood mages, but on the other side.
  • Great Hall of the Circle Tower: Ancient Texts In first room in the northwest large room.

  • The Ruined Temple visited in The Urn of Sacred Ashes quest, directly south of Haven. It is in a library in the southeast corner of the map. There are several bookshelves with books on them so you can’t miss it.
  • Western section of the Ruined Temple, called the Cultist Chambers. From the Main Hall map marker, take the west door to the Cultist Chambers area. The scroll is in the room just northwest of the Cultist Chambers map marker, in a pile of books marked ‘Ancient Texts’.

  • Lair of the Werewolves. The scroll is in a pile of books marked ‘Ancient Texts’ in the southeastern chamber, the area just north of your final meeting with the Lady of the Forest and Zathrian. (It is possible to miss this one on your initial visit, due to the cutscene where the Warden interacts with the Gatekeeper wolf. If this happens, simply return to the Lair after the conclusion of Nature of the Beast and collect the scroll.)

The Landsmeet

To win without Anora’s support or the Crows, you will need to:

  • Rescue Oswyn from Arl Howe’s dungeon and tell his father about it.
  • Rescue Sir Irminric from Arl Howe’s dungeon and return his ring to his sister.
    (Both Oswyn’s father and Irminric’s sister can be found in Denerim’s tavern)
  • Talk to Arl Wulf in the same tavern.
  • Choose the following arguments during the landsmeet (choosing only one other will lose you the landsmeet):

1. The blight is the threat, not Orlais
2. Talk about Howe’s prisoners.
3. Talk about how Loghain sent an apostate to poison Arl Eamon.

This should win you sufficient number of votes.
