Overview
Not seeing any community guide written in english right now and as a new player to injustice 2( so are most of you guys who bought this on pc pre-21st Nov), I ended started writing my own here to help each other out. I am going to go over some useful strings, tips and combos with the character Robin and some general combat skills in this game. DO NOTE THAT I AM ALSO A NOOB AND I AIN’T GOING THROUGH THOSE CPMLEX FRAME ADVANTAGE AND FRAME DATA STUFF IN GENERAL. SO THIS WILL BE PRETTY NOOB-FRIENDLY AND USER-FRIENDLY.
Combat Basics ( How To Git Gud)
First thing first I am not yet very good at this game, but I could tell you for sure that I went from being obliterated by my oppenents from my first few online matches to rekting the same player after rematching for around 6 times. SO ITS TRUE THAT PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT.
Now if you are just constantly practising your combos and string input in practice mode which i assume most of you who have searched for combos for a specific characters would probably do, I could tell you that it is not the best way to git gud when you are matched with real players. I am not saying that it is a wrong thing to do as I always practise with my Robin combos in practise mode, but it really doesn’t matter, from my own point of view and experience, these are the the things to practise in order:
1. BLOCKING (PLEASE BLOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
– bascially the most vital ‘ability’ in the game
– learn when to blcok while standing ( holding back) and when to block low attacks
-the tricky part: know when to attack after blcoking and punishes ( this is more
advanced stuff and will reuqire training and experiences)
2. Simple normal attack combos
-Remeber a few of the normal attack combos of your character
-Remeber the animation speed (start up frame) , range and attacking position
(overhead,mid, high and low)
-bare in mind that you don’t always need to attack your enemy with the most damaging
combo, it would soon be repetitive and counter by your enemy. Every small damage
dealt could eventually lead to your victory, so be VERSATILE.
-e.g as a robin player i could remeber 5 combos with different range and attacking
position.
3. Speacial attacks
– try to remeber most of them
-practise the meter burn version of them
-practise the wake up version of them
Robin
Now that you have known the basics let’s get into my favourate character Robin!
Pros:
-crazy range (mid range advantage can catch enemies off guard)
-overhead, low combo is tricky and usually people can’t block it
-could deal reasonable amount of damage
-flashy style…?
Cons:
-not much zoning utility (batarang is straight up bullsheet, well robin is a rusher anyway)
-As a rusher, robin fails to close gaps from full screen
-no 50-50 ? (well its not that of a big problem if you can punish correctly and throw mid range attacks)
-Trait of little usefulness ( i dont use it at all at the moment)
inputs : light attack – 1 medium attack – 2 heavy attack – 3
donw – d up – u back – b forward – f meter burn – mb jump – j
Combos:
b + 2 , 1 ———–a
-the range on this sheet is brutal, (tips: i use this to when the game start and it usually work, also use this to poke your opponenet when they coming to you and 3-peroson range from you, it will still hit…)
f+2, d+3 ————b
– first attack overhead, next attack is low
– opponent wont be able to block the second or ever the first attack most of the time unless they are very experienced
f+2, 1 , b + 2 ———– c
-this is a combo starter which could allow for the next combo below to connect
b+1, 2 ———– d
-connects the combo above
-ok range
-pretty fast startup too
1,2 ————— e
-input timing is tight
-robin’s major punish tool
-can do it while crouching too
(a or b or c-d or e connects), bf3 or db2
– major damaging tool when theres no meter
(a or b or d or e connects) , db2_mb, j-2, 212, bf3
-holy damge
-holy style
-if any starting string connects and db2 connect , do this and watch the world burns
Last tip
-PRACTISE THE LAST COMBO WHICH IS A MAJOR DAMAGING TOOL
-PRACTISE PUNISHES
-PRACTISE C-D, bf3
-PRACTISE and PRACTISE
