Rogue Legacy: End Game Armor Sets

Overview

Indepth evaluation of the Royal, Slayer, and Dark armor sets.

Intro

In Rogue Legacy, there is a blacksmith which sells you different kinds of equipment. At first you only start out with squire gear, but you unlock more by finding blueprints in chests throughout your ventures in the castle. Once you aquire a blueprint and bring it to the blacksmith, he reveals a random piece of equipment from his selection available for you to purchase. This guide covers the final 3 armor sets, the one’s that you will most likely be choosing from and using exclusively after your first few playthrough’s.

Royal Armor Set

The Stats

Sword: +60 damage.

Helm: +90 Health. +90 Mana.

Chest: +100 Armor.

Limb: +60 Magic.

Cape: +3 Flight.

This set buffs up your HP and Armor significantly, making it possible for you to endure some punishment and still come out seemingly without a scratch. Royal armor compliments the Barbarian King/Queen class well, because of the massive amount of HP you’ll have. It’s a fantastic combination for roaming the castle, and generally helping you survive your journey to the boss of an area.

Slayer Armor Set

The Stats

Sword: +40 Damage. +4% Critical Chance. +15% Critical Damge. +50% Damage Return.

Helm: +40 Health. +40 Mana. +4% Critcal Chance. +15% Critical Damge. +50% Damage Return.

Chest: +50 Armor. +4% Critical Chance. +15% Critical Damge. +50% Damage Return.

Limb: +40 Magic. +4% Critical Chance. +15% Critical Damge. +50% Damage Return.

Cape: +4% Critical Chance. +15% Critical Damge. +50% Damage Return.

This is the set you pick if you want to dish out the damage. Slayer armor is, well… good at slaying everying in it’s path! The high crit chance paired with the maxed out critical stat improvements from the skill tree make crits almost a gaurantee everytime you swing your sword, usually either one hit KOing most enemies, or at least shaving off extreme amounts of their life bar for you to make short work of them. On the plus side, even if they manage to hit you, it still stings for them, with the huge amount of damage return that this set has.

When used with a Knave/Assassin, bosses stand no chance. You could tank most bosses and completely destroy them by just spamming your sword, making this combination the ultimate boss slayer!

Dark Armor Set

The Stats

Sword: +50 Damage. +1 Vampirism. +1 Siphon. +1 Air Dash.

Helm: +60 Health. +60 Mana. +1 Vampirism. +1 Siphon. +1 Air Jump.

Chest: +50 Health. +1 Vampirism. +1 Siphon. +1 Air Dash.

Limb: +50 Magic. +1 Vampirism. +1 Siphon. +1 Air Jump.

Cape: +1 Vampirism. +1 Siphon. +1 Air Jump.

This set is perfect for anyone who wants mobility without having to use up those valuable rune slots.
With three jumps and 2 dashes, you could dance around enemies with the right timing. It may also come in handy for quite a few fairy chest challenges, if you’re goal is to loot those.

Conclusion

Don’t forget that you don’t need to use all the armor of one set at a time, there are no set bonuses in this game. Feel free to combine variants of all the armor sets to suit your own personal playstyle. I hope this was helpful, thanks for reading!
