Overview
This Guide will teach you how to Upgrade the Visuals of Return to Castle Wolfenstein to be more Higher-Definition using the Unofficial Patch, Venom Mod, TDA Addons, and Qeffects GL.
Step 1: ioRTCW
1: Go to Here: [link]
2: Download the either iortcw-1.51b-win-x86.zip (for 32-bit PC’s) or iortcw-1.51b-win-x64.zip (for 64-bit PC’s)
3: Extract everything to steamappscommonReturn to Castle Wolfenstein and Overwrite.
Step 2: Venom Mod
1: Go to www.moddb.com/mods/rtcw-venom-mod and Download the Latest Version (v5.5 to be exact)
2: Open the “Venom Mod v5.5” Folder and Extract the “Main’ Folder to steamappscommonReturn to Castle Wolfenstein
3: Open sp_vpak5.pk3 with 7-Zip or something and and go into the “maps” Folder and Delete all the files with .ai at the end, these files modify the Enemy AI which makes Stealth abit unfair for some People like me, but leave norway.script in there because that file Fixes a Crash on the Norway Map
4: Go back to the Root of the “Venom Mod v5.5” Folder where the “Main” Folder is and then go into the “Choose your autoexec” Folder, then go into either the “Max Quality” or “Extreme Quality” Folder and Extract, Cut, or Copypaste the autoexec.cfg in Return to Castle WolfensteinMain and Overwrite
Step 3: TDA Addons
1: Go to [link]
2: Download any of the Addons (except Additional Weapons) and place their .paks into Return to Castle WolfensteinMain (I’m using all Addons except Additional Weapons).
Step 4 (OPTIONAL): Qeffects GL
1: Go to [link]
2: Download Qeffects GL 1.2.zip and place it in steamappscommonReturn to Castle Wolfenstein
Note: I’m not sure if Qeffects GL is Safe to use in Mutiplayer, because in some Games that have Anti-Cheat Software like Half-Life you can get Banned for using it in Multiplayer.
