Rule of Steel #2 – Learn all religions (lvl16-18)

Overview

This guide will show you how to learn from the Yog, Mitra, and Set religion trainers. You will then be able to craft all the shrines and utilize all religious items. This guide also shows each item available.I used ChaosTheoryCraft’s map with markers to create the maps in this guide.

Nunu the Cannibal

Use the map to find Nunu the Cannibal at Shaman’s Rise. He will teach you the Yog religion.

Nunu states:

Stay your hand, stranger. Come, look into the pit. The Lord of Empty Abodes awaits (there in). I am his shaman, Nunu. Your coming was revealed to me in a whispering of a bat’s wings.
You return. But have you brought the sacred flesh?
My heart has a question. Do you know the Lord of Empty Abodes? He knows you, child, through the flesh of your kind. He hungers to know more. All flesh is knowledge. Every savory thought. Bring us knowledge of others. Yog is generous.
We are exiled without conviction. Our crimes are of no moment. My crime was my belief. What matter the age of the flesh that my lord consumes? does the Lord of Empty Abodes make a distinction between flesh in the womb and flesh outside of it? Now my tribe walks without a shaman. And I seek the pure flesh to feed my god.
My lord whispers to me of this place. He walked here in ages past. Here there was a banquet of flesh for his pleasure. And kings called upon his wisdom. It is men who destroyed that age of abundance. Yog urges us to seek atonement. The flesh we bring is an atonement. A satiation of past sins.

Yogs hunger is eternal, wanderer.
Flesh the dark rage, the blood cage.

The run from the Sepermeru region to Nunu is in the video from 0:00:00-00:06:30

The level 1 Pit of Yog will teach you to craft a Yog Cleaver to harvest human meat. It will also teach you to make Purified Flesh, which is a food source that relieves both hunger and thirst and does not spoil.

The Level 2 Rift of Yog will teach you to craft the Yoggite Watcher Mask and the Yoggite Bone Spear

The Level 3 Abyss of Yog will teach you the Yoggite Cudgel

An Archpriest thrall at the Rift will allow you to summon Yog.

Jamila the Pirate Queen

Follow the map to travel from Nunu to Jamila the Pirate queen at the Pariah’s Overwatch. She will teach you the Mitra religion.

Jamila states:

Watch your shadow. cully. You’ve not the saltwater stagger of the regular fools who come seeking the blade of the Butcher of Khwarizm. So we’ll talk, if you keep your distance.
(humph) Come to gawk at the captain who lost her ship and her crew? Twice the captain and twice the exile now, thanks to those mutinous dogs. I put the salt back in their blood and this is how they repay me? Treacherous bastards. The Black Hand only exists because of me!
(ugh) When I was exiled here, like the others, I was adrift, directionless. They burned my hands before they cut me loose, burned them into twisted flesh lumps you see today. I had to learn everything anew. How to eat, how to fight. How to survive. Make no mistake, exile, this place is a crucible. We are being shaped and moulded to some malevolent plan.
On the Vilayet, I always knew our heading. There was always another Turanian sail to burn, another fortune to be won. But here, I needed a new course. There were rogues aplenty – Barrachans, Zingaran Freebooters and members of the Red Brotherhood, exiles all. I gathered them together and I bound with a promise. If we could work together, I would find us a way back to the ocean. That was how the Black Hand begun…
the rules of the Red Brotherhood allow any crew member to challenge the captain. I tried to keep the same tradition in the Black Hand. Any who could best me, could take my position. Mutinous cowards didn’t even try. They just waited until I was asleep, then chained me to the hull. Never trust a pirate (especially if his name is “First Mate Atthlis”).
Look, I don’t really do treasure maps, as (a) rule. But there is something in the ruins of that city. A room, but the floor looks like a map. And embedded in that floor are gems. My bracelet was glowing like a witchfire and all of the gems on the floor were lit up to match it. I don’t hold with sorcery, so I got my crew out of there. After we tried to pry up a few of the gems, naturally.
Look, cully, do you see it? That’s a sea(lake) out there, or a lake big enough not to make a difference to me. I’m going to lead this crew down there. (ugh) I can almost taste the salt already.
We’ve been to the islands out there. There are ruins on some of them, but not like the ruins we found in the desert. To start with, these ones are human sized. I think there used to be people living here. And there is still a line of those bloddy pillars out there, so we can’t see what is on the other side. I shouldn’t complain, the gods led me back to the saltwater. And that is all I ever wanted.
Keep yourself safe.(May you always find water, wanderer.)
You’re back. Again.(Ahoy, Exile. What news?)
May you always find water, wanderer.(Keep your self safe)
What tidings, traveler?(You’re back. Again.)
May the wind guide you, exile.
(Nunu quotes from conanexiles.gamepedia.com)

The run from Nunu to Jamila is at in the video from 00:07:20 to 00:15:00:

The Level 1 Shrine of Mitra will teach you to craft a Mitraen Ankh, to harvest Lingering Essence from humans. This is the ingredient for Ambrosia and other Mitrean items. It will teach you to make Ambrosia which restores life.

You can also make Offering to Mitra. Mitra is displeased with all non-followers and recieves flesh and hearts as offerings to increase your zeal.

The Level 2 Sanctuary of Mitra will teach you to craft a Mitraen Tunic, Mitrean pants, and a Statue of Refreshment which provides a water source wherever it is placed.

The Level 3 Temple of Mitra will teach you to craft a Statue of Guidance, a bright light source. It will also teach the Phoenix-engraved Sword.

An Archpriest thrall at the Temple will allow you to summon Mitra.

Mek Kamoses

Use the map to travel from Jamila to Mek Kamoses’s Spire. There he will teach you the Set religion. You could cut across the Savannah from the Claw outcrop past the Ruins of al Merayah, but the river is safer.

Mek Kamoses states:

You have the look of the lost. stranger. Abandoned. exiled and adrift in purpose
Fool
You meed to forga a purpose for yourself in this place
These bracelets we wear sap at our will, supress our true powers. They are designed to make us weak and pliable.
Do not allow your thoughts to become trapped. resist it
I was a sorceror of the Black Ring, before my exile
But I opposed the rise of a sorceror called Toth Amon. he was powerful and ambitious, made doubly so by an artifact called the Serpent Ring of Set.
He was also political, forging alliances with King cstephon of Stygia. I found myself swept aside for my opposition.
Perhaps you think it was foolish of him to let me live? This bracelet suppresses my sorcerous abilities
I am thouroghly trapped
It is somewhere here in these lands that toth Amon discovered his Serpent Ring of Set
I only glimpsed the ring once, but there is a similarity between the patterning of the bracelets we wear and the ring
It follows that the giant kings who ruled this place created other such artifacts
That is the purpose to which I have dedicated myself. I will scour this land in search if the artifact that will restore my sorcery.
And then there will be a reckoning such as Toth Amon never imagined
Many mistakenly believe that sorcery comes from some innate power
It is true that the ore corrupted the soul, the more kinship one will find with the creatures of the outer void
But the power to summon comes from knowledge, but knowledge can be taught.
If you find a way to restore my sorcery stranger, I will teach you the words written in the Book of Skelos
I will provide you access to a power you have never known before.
Together we will raise an army and march forth to take our vengance.
It has returned. I have felt the tidal surge of power flowing back into my veins
I do not know the mechanism of my liberation, nor do I care
i once promised you sorcerous knowledge in return for your help and you shall have it
but beware, for the secrets i will teach you are not to be taken lightly.
Madness awaits the unprepared mind and the greater paths of knowledge can only be accessed through patience and study
I can only reveal to you the path, apprentice. You must walk it alone

the run from Jamila to Mek Kamoses in in the video at 00:15:30 to 00:28:20:

The Level 1 Sepulcher of Set will teach you to craft a ritual knife to extract human hearts, and an antidote to offset the effects of poison.

The Level 2 Altar of Set will teach you to craft a Setite Mask, Setite Choker, Setite, Setite Sandals, Snake Arrows

The Level 3 Sanctum of Set will teach you to craft a Setite Stygian brazier, Setite idols, a Setite Sword, and a Setite Shielld.

An Archpriest thrall at the Sanctum will allow you to summon Set.

Here is a map to help find your way back home from Mek Kamoses’s Spire:

The Outcast

At the time of making this guide The Outcast is bugged and you cannot learn the Ymir religion from him. I chose the Ymir religion to start in order to utilize all four religions.

Use the map below to find your way to the outcast. You will need a set of cold resistant armor. This trainer is in the Frozen North. You will ned to be at a much higher level to rech him. i would recommend reaching level 30 first.

The Level 1 Altar to Ymir will teach you the Hoar Frost Hatchet to harvest ice shards. The shards are used to make ice/black ice and other Ymir items. It will also teach haw to make ice, ice shard arrows, and ice shard bolts.

The level 2 Blooded Altar to Ymir will teach you to craft a set of Ymir armor. This cold light armor provides heat resistance in hot areas.

The Level 3 Exhalted Altar to Ymir will teach you to craft The Glacier Crack Axe, Black ice, a statue of Ymir and the feast of Ymir.

An Archpriest thrall at the Exhalted Altar will allow you to summon Ymir.

Build your shrines

For our purposes i will only build a Sepulcher of Set at this time. We can use the poison antidotes for hunting Spiders, Sandreapers, and Scorpions. Ambrosia would also be helpful but we have aloe potion to use. When you do eventually buld a larger base with multiple Altars, they cannot be placed to close together. If you place them on foundations a minimum of 5×5 is needed. Keep in mind that they tend to shift when upgraded. Your level 3 might not be in the exact spot you placed your level 1.

In order to upgrade your altars you will need zeal which is collected from crafting religious items. Mitra, Set, and Yog reqiure human sacrifice to craft thier items. Essence, hearts, and flesh are all harvested from humans with thier own special sacrificial “weapons” crafted at the altars. Ymir’s items require ice shards which are harvested from trees with the Hoar Frost Hatchet. Some even require black ice, harvested from Giant Icenose Beasts in the North using a dagger.
