Overview
This is a short guide on running among us through the Steam Play compatibility layer called Proton. Created on Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon, duplicated on Ubuntu 20 and and Elementary OS 5 – game version 2020.9.22s. Game runs fine with a simple tweak to launch options.
Doing it
Steps
1) buy on steam and install
2) go to steam>settings>steam play>check “enable steam play for all supported titles”
3) set the dropdown to “proton 5.0-9” (or latest version, your millage may very)
4) close steam settings
5) right-click “amoung us” in library>properties>set launch options
6) Enter “PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%” into the box (without quotes) then press ok
7) close properties then start game. enjoy!
