San Andreas Bugs and Glitches guide!

Overview

This guide will tell you all the glitches you need to watch out for while playing GTA : San Andreas! Since i’ve ran into many during my playthrough, i’d rather have more people informed than confused and googling “why ting do dat?” (This guide was made in the middle of my playthrough. So not all glitches will be here at the same time.)

Introduction

This will be a guide on which glitches to look out for in your playthrough of GTA : San Andreas.
(Note : I go more in-depth about the glitches, what they are, how to do them, and where they’re most commonly found when the glitches get more and more serious.)

Minor Glitches

Small things that happen often. Usually won’t affect gameplay. (I find it less of a coincidence that this section is rather empty.)

  • In-game cutscenes freezing. (Not the fully animated ones, just the ones that take control of your character). You can tell this happens when a character l o o k s like they should’ve said something, but haven’t yet. If they just stand there and akwardly look at something, the cutscene has frozen. To get out of these, shift+tab. That usually skips the cutscene. Atleast for me.
  • Crap Textures. This commonly happens in Zero’s missions. While in any RC vehicle, the game does NOT see the RC vehicle as C.J., so it will not load any of the better looking textures until you get VERY close with the RC vehicle.
  • Wiggly cars. This is most apparent in Sweet’s car, the Greenwood (Shown below), and others like it. Hit a wall too hard, and the back end will shake.

Noticeable Glitches

These glitches WILL affect gameplay and immersion, but aren’t exactly gamebreaking. (Again with the empty list! ;-;)

  • Freezing Transition. When the player is being put into, or being taken out of an In-game cutscene, the screen fades to black for a moment. ANY input from the player in this state will freeze the game.
This most commonly happens on the mission : “Sweet & Kendl”, in which the user is suddenly thrown into an In-game cutscene while cycling. (A.K.A. MASHING THE W KEY)
  • Worse Gameplay. This happens when you have Frame Limiter off in the display options. For example : Having Frame Limiter off makes cars roll less often (This sounds good, but keep in mind some of the mission require ramming your car into someone elses.), make any Exercises minigames (The ones where you spam 2 keys at once) x10 harder, AND it prevents C.J. from going underwater AT ALL.

Gamebreaking Glitches

These are glitches that literally break the game in every sense of the word.

  • Mission : “New Model Army” from Zero in San Fierro
This glitch happens after you beat the mission “New Model Army” from Zero. You will be spit out of the mission like normal, except you have a new weapon that doesn’t have an image for it. (This is the image i used for the thumbnail of this guide, Also shown below.) It will have 3 ammo, and when LMB is pressed, an audible “click!” can be heard, just like the click in the RC Goblin when you attempt to use the magnet out of range. Pressing RMB to aim will freeze the game, as you are attempting to aim with a weapon that only belongs to the RC Goblin. After a few seconds of being frozen, the game will crash. It seems that saving, then loading the save will remove this item from your inventory.
