[SAS4] How to self boost in multiplayer on archive

Overview

Are you having trouble finding people in multiplayer? Do you want to challenge yourself in nightmare mode? Perhaps you know the trick on browser, but the game won’t run on there to perform it because of flash updates breaking the game? This is for you.

Info about self-boosting

Lets get this out of the way: I did not originally discover this on archive. I was just tipped off that it can be done with this method. I’m only making this so others can use the trick if they want to.

DISCLAIMER:

Do not use this trick if you can’t handle the stronger, larger hoards of enemies. They can, and will overwhelm you or your team if not prepared or armed with the strongest weapons you got. The enemies scale depending on the levels of everyone in the room when the host starts the game.

If you’re looking for to how to self-boost in a web browser if it can run SAS4, here’s this video posted by FsX Vanilla:

How to self-boost on archive

Step 1:

Make a private room to self-boost in, which can be normal, contracts, or nightmare mode. Feel free to invite a friend or two.

Step 2:

There is two methods of doing the self boost trick. Thanks to Yeeroo for telling me about a alternate method of self boosting!

Method 1:

In the steam launcher, find Ninja Kiwi Archive in your steam library, right click it, and find “browse local files.”

Find the Ninja Kiwi Archive executable and launch it.

Method 2:

Right click the application on your taskbar and click on the executable there.

Successfully following these steps so far should lead you with two windows of the archive game launcher:

Step 4:

Launch SAS4 from the new game launcher, and use it to connect to your private room.

Repeat until either the room is full, or when you think you boosted to the best you and/or your team can handle.

Step 5:

Start the game, and close the extra archive launcher windows, making sure to leave the last launcher you opened alone. Otherwise you might run into some issues.

QnA / End of Guide

Q: Why do I get a “game is already running in a another instance” error?
Answer: This means you either launched the extra SAS4 window while you are still in the loadout screen in the first instance, or you didn’t close the extra windows and/or not played on the last instance of the game you made.
