Game Details

Q. When will Savage Lands be fully released?
A. There is no set date for when Savage Lands will be out of Early Access, though the team at Last Bastion Studios is hard at working on making sure things are done right!

Q. How much does Savage Lands cost?
A. The game is currently priced at $14.99 for a single key and $44.99 for a 4-Pack. Purchasing the 4-Pack lets you be able to gift the extra keys to your friends or family. The prices can be prone to discounts, so keep your eyes peeled!

Q. Are there official livestreams?
A. Yes, there are semi-regular livestreams where the developers answer any questions that were asked from the community, both within the Twitch Chat and from the forums. Keep an eye on the forums to be ready for when a stream is coming up.

Q. Are the developer streams available afterwards?
A. Yes. Don’t worry if you missed the most recent week’s stream as a topic will always be up linking you to the latest one with a brief description of what was talked about or shown. You can also check the past broadcast page on Twitch,[www.twitch.tv] to see many of the most recent streams.

Q. What type of specs do I need to run the game?
A. As the game is still in Early Access the specs required may change. Keep checking the store page for what the minimum and recommended specs are.

Q. Why did my character / world suddenly get deleted?
A. With the game currently in Early Access there may be times that the developers need to reset all players due to a major change in the game.

Q. Will there be any modding or Steam Workshop support in Savage Lands?
A. Currently there is no modding support for the game, but it is something that the developers have said they would look into down the line. You are allowed to modify the game, but doing so is unsupported by the developers, and there is a chance of save data corruption. You may also release your patch to the public if you wish, but let people know of what using an unofficial patch entails.

Q. How do I sign up for the latest beta builds of the game?
A. The Beta Builds require a password to opt-in to each one. When there is a Beta Build available, there will also be a pinned topic in the forums with the password and other necessary steps inside.

Q. Where can I suggest new ideas for the game?
A. Other than the Feedback & Suggestions forum, there is also the Official Trello Board;[trello.com] not only can you suggest new ideas in there, but you can also VOTE on ones that have been previously suggested!

Q. Where can I find some of the upcoming features for Savage Lands?
A. The best place to go would be to the game’s Trello Board.[trello.com] Check out its left column to see many of the upcoming additions that will be making their way to Savage Lands.

Server Information

Q. Are there currently any dedicated servers?
A. At this time, the dedicated servers have been deprecated, but will return at a later date with significant improvements.

Q. How many people can be on one server at a time?
A. Currently only 8 people including the host can be on one standard server.

Q. How do I make my server invite-only?
A. Once you are in your game you can hit ESC and click on ‘Options’ -> ‘Host Options,’ and then click on ‘Privacy Options.’ From there you can change your server to be ‘Friends Only,’ ‘Invite Only,’ or just leave it as ‘Anyone.’ In addition to that, you can also set up a password for access to your server which will let only people who know the password you have set to be able to join. You can change this password at any point that you choose.

Q. Does my character carry over to other people’s servers?
A. Yes, and you can have multiple saved characters connected to your account. When you go to join a person’s server you will be prompted with a choice of which character you want to load in or if you want to make a new character. These choices will be the same regardless if you want to play offline or online.

Q. Is there Player vs Player combat in Savage Lands?
A. Yes, but there are two distinct modes for the game that the host can set within the ‘Host Options’ menu to choose between having a server where that allows for PvP and one that does not. The first mode, which is called ‘Friendly,’ only allows for you and anyone else in the server to damage the creatures of the game; players are unable to attack other players in this game mode. ‘Hostile,’ which is the name of the PvP game mode, allows for players to attack other players, and so you might want to watch your back if you are joining a server set to that mode.

Q. Can I play the game Offline?
A. Yes, you can play Savage Lands completely offline! When in the main menu just click on ‘Play Game’ which will help you set up your single player adventure.

Gameplay Mechanics

Q. What do the bars mean that are on the bottom right of my screen?
A. The bar on the top is your Health (Red) and Cold (Blue). As you gradually get colder and colder, your maximum health will be reduced. If you are not careful then you may freeze to death. The bar below that is your Stamina (Green) and Hunger (Yellow), and much like the Health and Cold bar, as you continue along the paths of starvation, then your maximum stamina will be reduced, so be sure to hunt and eat properly.

Q. Can I have my character be a female in Savage Lands?
Not currently. While the devs have stated that they would like to have female characters for players to choose from, it is more a matter of current technical limitations and is not something that should be rushed. You can find more information on that by following the link here: [link]

Q. Will there be magic in the game?
A. Not in the traditional sense; it would more be related to alchemy and the world itself.

Q. Is there controller support?
A. Currently the game does not support controllers, but it is in the long-term plan. There is an unofficial method which can be found here.

Q. How can I sneak up to creatures?
A. Hiding in shrubs will break the line of sight from the AI in the game, and so if you move carefully enough you can sneak up on that deer that keeps running away from you.

Q. Is there any permanent death in Savage Lands?
A. No, this game lets you respawn when you die. Upon death you will be given the option to respawn which will place you at one of the spawning points on the beach. You are able to construct a ‘Pike of Resurrection’ which will let you activate, and thus change your respawn point. You can create many different pikes, as it is only the one that you most recently activated that will act as your respawn point. When you do respawn, you will not have any of your items, so you will have to find your old body to recover your items….unless someone found your corpse first.

Building and Crafting

Q. How do I craft?
A. The default mapping for the game has the craft command tied to ‘K,’ and from there you will be able to put together any of the recipes that you have. For some things you will need to be using a firepit or a forge.

Q. How do I build a firepit or house?
A. To build a structure you will need to open up your Journal, which by default is tied to ‘J.’ Once you select the structure that you want to build then you will be able to place the building on any piece of land that will be able to support it; you can also use your mouse’s wheel to rotate the object. Once placed, you can keep pressing ‘E’ on the object to place more of the required items to finish its construction if they are in your inventory.
