Overview

Scouts are a rather dangerous enemy in GTFO. If they’re alerted for any reason, they’ll summon an extra wave of enemies, making them around 20 foes in one. It’s nice to know where they appear and how often in the current set of expeditions so that you can plan for them. This guide seeks to provide a comprehensive collection of every scout in the rundown: What zones they’re in, whether they’re a guaranteed spawn, and which areas in those zones they can spawn in.

Verification/Falsification Help

Any help verifying assumed scout spawns would be much appreciated, as well as any information left out of this guide. Evidence is preferable (screenshot or video), but word of mouth will also do if enough people report the same observation.

There are also various rumors that circulate about scouts. I have very good reason to just dismiss these, as they usually come from players who have low playtime or are unfamiliar with the maps. If someone can provide evidence, however, it would be interesting to know that there’s a rare event I’ve missed.

Assumptions:

Any zone not listed is assumed to be devoid of scouts due to there being no scouts observed in those zones (needs falsification).

50A, 50B, 50D, and 50E are assumed to be excluded from scout spawns based on them being small rooms with low enemy counts. There is also a very large sample size of runs where scouts do not spawn in those areas (needs falsification).

50F and 50G are assumed to be locations where both of 50’s scouts can overlap, as they fit the spawn pattern of observed overlapping scouts in 50 (needs verification).

21E is yet to be observed, but fits the spawn patterns of other zones on the map (needs verification).

23C and 23D are yet to be observed, but fit the spawn patterns of other zones on the map (needs verification).

92B is assumed to be excluded from scout spawns based on the fact that enemies never spawn in that room (needs falsification).

98B and 99B are assumed to be excluded from scout spawns based on their small size and low enemy count (needs falsification).

Rumors:

50 can sometimes contain three scouts (needs verification).

50 can sometimes contain only one scout (needs verification).

41 can sometimes contain two scouts in a single run, one in 41A and one in 42B (needs verification).

74 can sometimes contain a scout (trusted; needs verification)
