Overview

This is a guide to all 100 whirlpools in the present, as well as the one 10 shard pool in the future.

Introduction

Hey everyone! This is my first time making a guide, but considering how much hassle it was for me to find all 110 shards, I figured that I should probably make things a lot easier for new players who do not have the benefit of having all the whirlpools pre-revealed on the map.

Things to note:

  • All whirlpools on the World Map are NOT revealed on a first run. Only whirlpools you have discovered and conquered are revealed on NG+ runs.
  • All whirlpools in dungeons ARE revealed on first run.
  • All whirlpools have set level encounters. The reason why they are not written in this guide is because I’m using an NG+ run to find them, making my encouters ~50 levels higher than what they should be on a first run.
  • The enemies that appear from the whirlpool are random, and leaders are random. The only exception to this is the last whirlpool, which is fixed.
  • Whirlpools consist of 3/4 waves of enemy mobs, each one with a leader. Cooldowns for your three active skills carry between waves.
  • Whirlpools will start to appear when your hero is 2 tiles away from them, but faintly – they will disappear if you move away from them. Whirlpools stabilize once you are next to them, and once stabilized, will not disappear.
  • As far as I’m aware of, most Whirlpools still exist in the Future if you didn’t get them in the Present – provided that you actually still have access to a particular location. For example, the Another Dimension dungeon is sealed if you chose the Nice Gate, the Frontline Fort | Basement is sealed once you set off the spell, etc. The only one you really MUST note is Coalmine, which is sealed off (and thus permanently missable) in the Present if you choose to light the dynamite.

Otherwise, let’s get on with the show!

Regulus to Spica to Alcor


That is whirlpools 1, 2 as shot right from the road tile out of Regulus Castle. Ignore the one that is across the river, you can not reach that one yet.

You will see whirlpools 3, 4, and 5 here, plus another one behind the mountain range which we will be getting to.

Going up to the Southwest Cave, you’ll meet number 7, 8, and 9 almost inevitably.

Inside Southwest Cave, you will find number 10. This is near an Artifact and the runaway Boy (not pictured)

Back outside, going towards Goblin’s Gold Cave, you will find number 11.

And inside Goblin’s Gold Cave is number 12, next to the skeleton.

Crossing the bridge towards Spica, we see 13 near the moutain range, and 14 near the lake.

Getting closer to Spica, we find 15 in the direction of Spica, and 16 towards the Cave of Treasures.

17 is in the Cave of Treasures, near the 3 chests.

Getting back out and going towards Alcor, we see 18, 19, and 20. Eagle eyes might see the one near the bottom, but I will get back to that one later.

And finally we reached Alcor! 21 is right outside its doors.

Alcor to Farqad to Sadalachbia


Going south of Alcor, I start taking the western split towards Fiend’s Nest. We pass by 22 (which is in the middle of nowhere) and 23.

24 is pretty hard to miss going to Fiend’s Nest.

25 is in Fiends’ Nest B1. Close to the hidden passageway, you want to follow the path south of the hall with the two chests on each side.

26 is in Fiends’ Nest B2. It is towards the right side, going towards the grave on the right.

Going back outside and taking the eastern split, you can find 27 as you go to the graveyard from the south side (remember, graveyard is that blank plains square near the lake.)

Continuing on, passing Noble Villa 1 and towards the road, 28 is hiding near another lake. Eagle eyes might see 29.

Trying to get to Farqad, you’ll pass by 29 before going on the bridge.

Pass the bridge, 30 is hiding at the end of the land key.

Moving on westward to Sadalachbia, we see 31 and 32 on different sides of the mountain.

33 and 34 are on the path further westward.

I detour south to go the Southern Ruins first. 35 is in the way, and 36 is just across the river. Not pictured is the bridge I would use to get to the Southern Ruins.

Into Southern Ruins B1 I go, and here’s 37

Going down to Southern Ruins B2, 38 is in the first room to the right.

Getting back out, you would go north towards Sadalachbia. You’ll see 39 near the lake, and 40 as you get closer to Sadalachbia. Thankfully, there is nothing on the path towards the orphanage.

But you didn’t count on a dungeon in Sadalachbia did you? 41 is in Coalmine B1, right side and go up. NOTE: Because of certain choices you may make, this may easily become PERMENANTLY MISSABLE.

Farqad to Aria to Mufrid


Going up from Farqad along the road, we will pass by 42 and 43. For now, ignore the one on the other side of the water, I will get to that soon.

Getting to the intersection of roads, 44 and 45 are a little out of the way, but not when they are pretty obvious.

And right before we get to Aria, we see 46 hidden in the side of mountains there.

Leaving Aria and going further east, we see 47 at the end of the road. Again, ignore the one on the other side of the water for now.

Going down, you will see 48 right in the center there. The road splits in two, I will first take the south path towards Misty Forest.

49 is right next to Misty Forest.

Going into Misty Forest and to the left side, you’ll find 50 next to two chests.

Still in Misty Forest, there is 51 on the right path from the enterance. This path should lead you to the grave in the Forest.

Getting out of Misty forest and now taking the west path at the split, I’ll pass by 52, and you might see 43 on the other side of the water, along with the bridges that connects all these islands.

There’s Noble Villa 2, and 53 just a few steps from it. Fort of Quarrel is to the east, so I will be taking the western route (Abandoned Shrine) first.

Going towards Abandoned Shrine, 54 is virtually impossible to miss.

In Abandoned Shrine B1, 55 is quite literally in the path. Well, okay, so left of the path you should take, but still pretty obvious.

Going back out and heading towards the Fort of Quarell, we see 56 and 57 fairly easily.

Going eastward on the path to Mufrid, 58, 59, and 60 can be seen in this shot.

Mufrid to Capella to Mirzam


Going through the moutain path, taking the first detour to the south will get you to Mountain Cave and whirlpool 61.

Inside Mountain Cave B1, 62 is on the path to the right.

Going further down to Mountian Cave B3, 63 is somewhere in the southeast network of paths.

Going back out, I continue the mountain path, taking the next detour out. It leads to a large land key and pool 64. NOTE: This pool is far above the set mob level of this region. You will be slaughtered if you try to do this casually.

Continuing on the path and taking the next detour to Dimension Gate, 65 just sits near a small pond.

Going into Alternate Dimension 1, 66 is on an offshoot from the main path. Keep looking!

67 in Alternate Dimension 2 requires you to actually go out of your way. I know, this map is annoying.

Out of Dimension Gate, and out of the mountain path! 68 sits there as a reward.

Going towards North Capella Cave, we see 69 right on the path.

In North Capella Cave, 70 is right next to the hidden path.

Still in North Capella Cave, 71 is somewhere in the south side.

Finally out, on the way to Mirzam, we can see 72 on the way.

And right before we get to Mirzam, we see 73.

Mirzam to Giansar to Thuban

First off, before posting more screenshots, I’m going to go and presume you talked to the White-Robed Messenger at Mirzam, cause that’s how you get into Valley Cave. Unfortunately for you, there are no whirlpools in Valley Cave.

When you finally get out of Valley Cave, 74 is waiting on the other side of the lake.

Taking the path towards Ruins of Venom, 75 is in the way.

In the Ruins of Venom, 76 is in the southeast corner of the ruins.

Still in Ruins of Venom, 77 is in the center of the ruins.

Still in Ruins of Venom, 78 is in the northwest corner of the ruins.

Getting out and going back onto the path, you will see 79 once you actually get back onto the road.

As you approach Giansar, you will see 80 on the way, and 81 across the river.

Heading towards Dragon’s Nest, we see 82.

Climbing up to Dragon’s Nest 3F, 83 is behind a mess of webs.

Going towards Thuban, you will see 84, 85, and the Northern Springs.

Going further north, we see the land splitting off, and 85 and 86 there. Unlike other sections, I’m going directly to Thuban first.

Just before entering Thuban is 87.

After Thuban (Crystal Cave, Mage’s Cloister, Frontline Fort)


Going eastward across the bridges, 88 is in the way.

Keep moving. 89 is before you cross the next bridge.

Going north to Crystal Cave, 90 is on one side of the water mass.

In Crystal Cave B1, 91 is in a path to the south.

Going down to Crystal Cave B3, 92 is in the southwest corner.

Going to Mage’s Cloister, 93 will pretty much be in your way.

After all that, we can progress forward. Here’s 94 and 95.

Keep going… we got 95, 96, and 97 on this shot.

Almost there! 98, and 99! One more to go!

Finally, in Frontline Fort | Basement, we got 100!

Now, to get the Library Artifacts, we need to deal with one more Whirlpool – it is in the Future, at the bottom of the Eye of the Calamity (B5). This Whirlpool is different from all others – it is ALWAYS set to have the 3 Tower bosses as its waves, without breaks in between… yeah, I hope you are ready to deal with that… (it’s easier than it sounds, if that eases things)
