What is the Shade Gates?

This is the gate made from Void found in various places throughout Hallownest.

they are indestructible and cannot be deactivated.

If The Knight moves into it, it will bounce them backwards, but deal no damage.

How to get through Shade Gates?

Kingdom’s Edge

The first thing you should do is go to the Kingdom’s Edge area, in which you will have a second battle with Hornet. You need to find and defeat her.

After defeating Hornet, we find King’s Brand.

Ancient Basin

Now we must go to the Ancient Basin area in the southern part of which we will find the Kingdom’s Gate, which open when interacting with them.

The Abyss

After passing through them we find ourselves in the Sub-area: The Abyss. Now our task is to get to the south-eastern part of the area.

To do this, we must first go down the platforms, after that we must move to the right side of the area.We need to turn on the beacon to get the opportunity to overcome the water with the help of the Crystal Heart.

After that we can go the rest of the way.At the end of the tunnel we will see a beetle holding a vessel with a black liquid. And finally we need to jump into the vessel, after which we get Ability: Shade Cloak, with which you can overcome Shade Gates.

Shade Cloak

Use the cloak to dash through enemies and their attacks without taking damage.
The Shade Cloak acts as an upgrade to the Mothwing Cloak.
Allows dashing through Shade Gates, as well as enemies and their attacks. Explosions and environmental hazards will still harm The Knight.
The Shade Cloak has a small cooldown independent of the regular Dash. This is indicated by shadow particles scattering around the Knight while it is on cooldown, then being absorbed into the Knight when it recharges. Dashing while the cooldown is in effect will result in a normal dash which does not phase through enemies.
