Introduction + Overview


Welcome to my walkthrough/achievement guide!
There’s a lot of text below, as the game’s mainly comprised of going from room to room grabbing keys and items and it’s hard to give proper directions. Shadows 2: Perfidia is split into two main chapters, Joe’s and Michael’s. And a short extra bonus that’s needed for two of the achievements.

In Joe’s chapter, you’ll unlock:
Oops – for dying the first time (can be done in the very first level)
Great Escape – for finishing
Collector – for collecting all the secret items

In Michael’s chapter, you’ll unlock:
Busted – for finishing with the gun in your inventory
Got ’em all – for collecting all the secret items

Lastly, the bonus game unlocks:
This again? – for starting the bonus
That was simple – for beating the bonus

The Collector and Got ’em all achievements need to be unlocked by going to ‘Secrets’ in the main menu, and clicking ‘Unlock’ after finding all the secret items.

The game isn’t too difficult overall, and the places where you can actually die are limited. You do have to restart from the beginning of the floor if you die though, which is slightly annoying when it comes to Michael’s chapter, as they’re generally longer.

Joe’s Chapter – Floors 10 to 6

Floor 10

You start in your bedroom/office. The left door leads to the bathroom. Take the flashlight from the bookshelf and exit out the other door.
There are two doors here, behind the left one is where you start most of the other floors of this chapter, and behind the right is a small storage room. Enter the storage room now for the secret item.
Continue down the hall to the TV room and two doors. I’ll generally refer to these doors as the “left TV door” and “right TV door”.
Behind the left TV door is a fork: left are batteries, and straight ahead leads to the offices. Read the note on the shelf and take the key in the offices. Use it to unlock the right TV door.
Follow the hallway until you reach a four-way fork: left leads to a small room with a can of soda, right is the exit elevator which you’ll use later. Straight ahead are batteries on a shelf and keep following this corridor until a locked door and you receive a journal update.
Head back to your bedroom/office and you’ll see a shadowy figure. Stop when you see the journal update. (You can run to it and die for the ‘Oops’ achievement.) Turn around and run to the exit elevator to take it down a floor.

Floor 9

There are batteries in the storage room opposite where you begin if you need them.
Go to the TV room. There’s a note under the TV and a key beside the sofa (if it’s not there check the shelves at the fork behind the left door). Use it to unlock the door to the offices. Take the remote control inside (it’s on the sofa), and use it on the TV back in the TV room.
The lights go out. Run back to your bedroom. There’s a note on the desk. Enter the bathroom and take the key on the floor. Use it to unlock the right TV door.
At the four-way fork again, go left and in the small room for the secret item.
Now go straight at the fork and enter the toilets at the end. Pick up the camera.
Walk to the fork, turn left and pick up the crowbar. Use it to knock down the three mannequins blocking your way at the fork and enter the toilets.
Pick up the crowbar after the scene, and use it on the mannequins blocking the exit elevator (there are batteries you can grab along the way).

Floor 8

Go through the left TV door and straight at the fork and try to open the door for a journal update. Take the other path at the fork to a new room. There’s a note on the left, then open the door and take the elevator.
Walk out into the hallway and when the door ahead slams open, sprint back into the elevator.
Back where we started this floor. In the TV room, there’s a glowstick under the TV and soda on the table. Through the left TV door to the offices and behind the right desk is the secret item.
Then take the exit elevator (you’ll pass by a note along the way).

Floor 7

Go to your bedroom and pick up your cellphone. Enter the bathroom when you can. After another scene, exit the bathroom, read the note on the sofa and take the key from the bookshelf.
Left TV door again; left at the fork for a note on the boxes. Walk back to the fork and there’s a new doorway! Enter it and down the hall on your right for the secret item.
Head the other way now to the familiar fork. Left has nothing; straight ahead is a note on the shelf. Enter the toilets and approach the lone mannequin. That’s it for this floor so enter the exit elevator.

Floor 6

Left TV door as usual, and there’s a mannequin with a note. As you leave and approach the right door, you’ll be told to hide.
Run back through the left TV door, take a left at the fork and crouch behind some crates at the dead end. As soon as the shadow leaves, sneak to the right TV door and the secret item will be down the hall. You need to be quick for this one, as the item disappears when the shadow leaves.
At the four-way fork, go straight to the toilets. In one of the stalls is a note. On your way back, turn right (so the left path) and into the room for the meds. Nothing else to do here, so head down another floor.

Joe’s Chapter – Floors 5 to 1

Floor 5

Go right, and into the bathroom for a note on the floor. You now need to find three notes and add them for the correct code to open the right door.
– In your bedroom behind the wardrobe is the first note.
– The second note is on the shelf opposite the TV.
– The third note is behind the left TV door, at the foot of the door to the offices.
Open the right door with the (randomly generated) code, and go straight to the exit elevator. So you can’t use the elevator yet…
Exit and read the new note on the sofa, then quickly run to the toilets and close the door behind you. One of the stalls contains the secret item.
Inspect the door, then open it. Run back to the TV room to find your friend. Oh well… take the exit elevator and leave this floor.

Floor 4

There are batteries in your bedroom if you need them. In the TV room, read the note under the TV. Left at the fork behind the left TV door is the secret item.
Straight ahead at that fork is a note in the offices. Do as it says and touch the mannequin in this room. Exit the room (the shadow is harmless) and into the right TV door.
Grab the key under the TV in this room and use it to unlock the bathroom in your bedroom. Just walk inside…

Floor 3

You wake up the dead end behind the left door. The secret item is in corner of the TV room.
In the small storage room opposite the entrance elevator is a key, which you can use to unlock the right TV door. When you need to hide, do so behind the crates where you found the key.
When it’s safe, go to the four-way fork. Go straight to the toilets. Pick up the key in the middle stall on the right. Use it to unlock the door down the left path of the fork and grab the baseball bat. Use the bat to knock over the mannequins blocking the exit elevator and take it down to the next floor.

Floor 2

There are batteries on your right as the corridor turns. The other rooms are empty/blocked, so open the left TV door. There’s a note on a shelf with a formula for the code. Straight ahead in the offices are more batteries. Use the code to unlock the door.
At the four-way fork, the right and straight paths are both dead ends, so go left and inspect the drone on the shelf.
Walk the drone past the mannequins and into the room. The secret item is in the corner here.
Enter the vent in the other corner. Pick up the meds on the sofa and take them back to you. Take the meds and you’re warped to the new room (what?). Anyway, you need to hide in the vent, do so by inspecting it and wait…
You’ll be placed back at the fork and free to take the exit elevator down another floor.

Floor 1

Before starting: There’s no secret item on this floor.

There’s a note to read under the TV. Plus another note behind the left door. And another note when you turn left at the fork. Grab the key on the shelf at the end
As you leave, a shadow will burst out from the offices. As it chases you, unlock the right door with the key and run to the exit elevator (or where it would be). Go down the hall and move the chair when you’re told to do so. Exit the other door.

That’s it for Joe’s chapter.

Michael’s Chapter – Floors 8 to 6

Floor 8

Grab your backpack and coffee from the coffee machine. Exit the room.
Head down the hall to the TV room. There’s a note under the TV.
Walk down the hallway on your left, check the first drawer or go right at the fork and in the lockers at the end for a key. Use it to open the locked door in the TV room.
Walk down the hall and go right at the fork to the pool room (don’t check your phone yet). Inside in the corner is the secret item.
Run back to your office, close the door and turn off the lights. Crouch behind the far desk and read your phone messages. The door will soon burst open, but just stay still until you get the journal update.
Now run towards the elevator. The shadow will chase you as you get close, but you can just run to the elevator.

Floor 7

Exit the elevator check the room opposite for a saw. If it’s not there it may be in the TV room by a pool of blood.
Go down the left hall of the TV room again, and right at the fork to the lockers. The middle locker contains a teddy bear, which helps you locate items. Go back to the fork, and open the door at the far end of the hall to the toilets. Pick up the secret item in the corner and a key in one of the stalls (use the bear). Use the key to open the locked door in the TV room.
Go down the hall to the pool room again (and a note to read along the way) and use the saw to cut the painting in the room. Pick up the key that drops. The key unlocks the door you passed on the way to the pool room.
Open the backpack inside this room for a soda and note. Inspect the laptop (password: hell500) and use it to unlock the elevator doors. A monster appears as you approach the elevator, except this one doesn’t chase you. Quickly go hide in the pool room for a little while and sneak to the elevator when it’s clear.

Floor 6

Enter the small office room opposite and read the note on the shelf. Try opening the locked door in the TV room for a journal update. Go down the left hall to the toilets (if the door’s locked, you might need to try opening the door at the end of the other hall leading from the TV room first). Pick up the key on the toilet floor, and use it to unlock the office room mentioned above.
Pick up the piece of paper in the office. It may in a drawer or on a shelf. Use the paper on the locked door in the TV room to get the key and use it to unlock the door.
As you walk down the hall, a shadow attacks you. Just stand still – it doesn’t kill you. Enter the room on the right afterwards and grab the key in the corner and the secret item next to the TV.
Use the key to unlock the door to the elevator.

Michael’s Chapter – Floors 5 to 4

Floor 5

Before starting: If you are interested in the hidden achievements, a chest will randomly spawn in the room with the sledgehammer. Keep restarting this floor until you find it before playing on.

Go down the left hallway in the TV room (like previous floors) and right at the fork to the room at the end. Inside is a book to read. Enter the adjacent room and pick up the sledgehammer (this is the room with the randomly spawning chest). Use the sledgehammer to knock down the blocked door at the fork you turned right at earlier.
Open the first door on the right in the new hallway. If it’s locked, try other locked doors (in the TV room and the one to the large office) before coming back to this one. Inside is a note on the desk. Now run back to the TV room for a jump scare.
After you wake up, the locked door in the TV room is now open. Go left at the fork, and examine the keypad by the locked door.
Down the other path, there’s a note to read in the drawer past Freddy’s room and a key in the drawer at the very end. Walk back the way you came, picking up the saw in the blood. Use the key to unlock the first door on your left after grabbing the saw.
Inside one of the toilet stalls is the secret item.
Inside another stall is a dark key to unlock the chest in the sledgehammer room (only if the chest spawned). Lastly, use the saw on the body inside another one of the other toilet stalls and pick up the arm.
If you have the dark key, go open the chest and remember the code on the note (0a355c90x).
Either way, run back to the door that needed the handprint to open (it’s down the hall you used the sledgehammer to open). Pick up the glowstick inside and read the note on the couch. Quickly sprint back to the keypad and use the code (for me it was 563478) to unlock the door to the elevator.

Floor 4

Head down the hall in the TV room and open the first door on your left. In the room at the end of this hall is a small cupboard with an oil bottle.
Run back to your office. There’s a note and drawer (needs oil) with a key. Use this key to unlock the door on the right at the very end of the hallway by the TV room.
Inside the room at the end is a note and another drawer with a key inside. Use this key to unlock the door on your left when you exit.
Inside the conference room is a note in the drawer. Watch the laptop on the desk that appears. Exit the room and on your way back to the TV room you’ll find a body with a key beside it. Use it to unlock the other door at this end of the hallway. Open the second door on the right in here to another TV room.
Go down the left hall to a four-way intersection. Go left into another conference room and crawl into the vent. When you exit, pick up the battery pack on the desk and read the note nearby.
Exit the room and on your right is the first TV room of this floor. Run back to the four-way fork and go straight this time. Open the drawer at the end and examine the object to switch to a new scene.
Go down the hall and right at the fork to find a key. Use the key to unlock the bathroom door at the end of the fork’s other path. Inside one of the stalls is the secret item and batteries in another. Exit the bathroom to end this scene.
Back in control again, go to the bathroom. Read the note and pick up the key. Use this key to unlock the door down the right path of the fork (where the elevator is in Joe’s chapter).
Pick up the screwdriver in the drawer and exit this area back to the second TV room. Enter the the first room down the hallway you haven’t explored yet and use the screwdriver and battery pack on the small blue box to restore power. Run the room at the end of this hall, read the note and use the computer. Read the text file for a password hint and watch the camera feed (code: 31621). Barricade the door with the sofa when instructed.
Exit the room once it’s clear, cut through the second TV room to a new room that’s now open (you heard knocking here earlier). Open the door in this room for a journal update. Use the gramophone in here for the keypad code.
Find the keypad (it’s on your left as you exit the hallway with 4 doors) and enter the code (213772). Run through to the end of the hall and into the elevator (ouch!).

Michael’s Chapter – Floors 3 to 1

Floor 3

Pick up the drill on the shelf in front of you and the key in the drawer on your right. There’s also a soda in the bathroom next door. Move the wardrobe aside and use the drill to open the vent.
Turn around, and take the first left. Open the vent at the end.

Down the hall and the first room on your right contains a bottle of rust remover. At the end of the hall, turn right and pick up the key at the end. Use the rust remover on the key. Use that to unlock the door at the other end of the hall.
Find the lighter in here, it’s either in the room to your left or in the conference room to your right. Also in the left room is the secret item hidden on the bottom shelf of a bookcase.
Use the lighter to light the cigarette on the desk in the corner by the laptops. This unlocks a door in the left room. Keep following the hall some drawers and grab the batteries inside. After the short scene, go all the way back into the vent.
Go left, left, and left again (there’s really only one way you can go). Exit the vent

Exit this room, and remember that facing you is the keycard-locked door. Turn left into a larger area with two doors. There’s a note under the TV. Enter the hallway at the end and go left at the fork. There’s a note on the desk in the room at the end with login details. Go down the other path of the fork, and use the laptop in that room to unlock Office Door 3 (gabby600/ppap). This unlocks the second door (closer to the water cooler) in the larger room.
Quickly run to this room and take the keycard on the desk. When you are told to hide, hide by the door of this room. As the creature walks from the direction of the keycard-locked door, it won’t see you and will walk right past your room.
Once it’s safe, use the keycard to unlock the room. Grab the crowbar in this room and enter the vent again.
Go straight and use the crowbar to dislodge the vent.

Ignore the laptop behind you for now. Instead go down the hall you’re facing. There are three doors. Straight ahead (gets me every time) is a note to read and a hammer hidden behind the cupboard. The room on the right contains a bottle in a locker. Use the bottle and hammer to remove the lock on the left locker. Inside is a flash drive.
Go back to the laptop and play the video. Go down the other hall now. Follow the linear path and approach the doll on the shelf at the very end for a scene.

When you regain control, you’re in a room with three doors. One has a note. Work your way through the corridors avoiding shadowy monsters. It’s not difficult since they don’t move. Even if you fail, you’re only sent back to the beginning of the maze. When you exit the maze, the elevator is in front of you.

Floor 2

Before starting: Whether or not you pick up the gun in this chapter determines the ending you get. I believe you need to pick up the gun for the ‘Busted’ achievement.

The first room on your left and has a key by the body. Continue down the hall and turn left at the fork to the room at the end. Move the bookshelf to reveal a hidden doorway.
Read the note in the room at the end of the hallway. Three mannequins will block your way as you exit. Turn and face, then approach the camera in this hallway to move them out of the way. Go down the new hallway and there are batteries in the drawer at the end. Pick up the key under the TV in the conference room.
Run back out to the first fork of this floor and go the other way this time. Unlock the first door on your right, then the first door on your left. There’s a note to read in the open toilet stall. Exit the toilets and enter the other door. In these toilets are a gun* and a key.
Exit back to the hallway and turn right to continue the way you were going before. Keep following the hall and through the door at the end. Turn left here and enter the room. The secret item is next to the pool table.
Take the other path at the fork now and follow the hallway until you can go left or straight. Straight is the way you need to go for the exit, remember this. Go left for now and have a conversation with the guy at the door until he lets you inside. Prepare for a chase sequence after you pick up the crowbar.
Pick up the crowbar and go the way I mentioned earlier. Use the crowbar to open the door (when you can) and sprint through hallway. You only need to open one door (it’s immediately after the crowbar door), from then just follow the open doorways (they’re all on your left) until you reach the conference room. Stay left, push the chair out of the way and open the only door when you can. The guy’s still chasing you here, so continue sprinting through to the elevator.

Floor 1

Enter the first room on your left, and grab the screwdriver in the left locker. Continue on your way, reading the note on the shelf. When you reach the fork, go left. Pass by some batteries on a shelf, and enter the door on the right. Grab the key on the desk and listen to the dude if you want. Otherwise leave and go straight through to the opposite hall and open the door at the end. Use the screwdriver on the blue box on the ground.
Go back to the fork again and go the other way instead. After turning left at the fire hose, you’ll see this floor’s secret item on a shelf, but police burst in as you approach it. Simply grab it before crouching like the game instructs you to (don’t take too long though, otherwise you’ll be shot).

Extra Contents

Use the code you found on Floor 5 of Michael’s chapter to unlock a slender clone. You are tasked with finding 8 pages while avoiding slenderman copy.

The 8 pages are always in the same location:
1. In the smaller office opposite where you start – desk on the right.
2. In your office – directly across where you enter.
3. First room down the right hall – shelf in the far left corner.
4. Far left corner of the pool room.
5. Where the lockers usually are, at the end of the fork.
6. In the toilets – on the sink.
7. In the first room after locked door – shelf on the left.
8. In the second room after locked door – shelf at the back.
The locked door is near the fork down the left hall. The key to unlock the door is near the elevator.
After grabbing all 8 pages, you need to make it to the elevator to finish the game.
