Overview
Step-by-step solutions to the Silver Tale puzzle levels!
Introduction
Welcome to another Taskmaster Game Guide. I’m not trying to come across as full of myself here. I just put my best effort into making a great guide for players to read, learn from and enjoy. My goal is to help players get full enjoyment from each and every game I write a guide for. I hope this guide is no exception. Thanks for taking the time to check out the guide!
This guide presents step-by-step instructions for completing the various puzzle levels for the game Silver Tale. I’m still working my way through the game so please be patient as I fill this guide out.
This guide is getting rather large, so I have decided to reduce the image size to reduce the amount of scrolling needed to see the solutions. You can click on any image to see a larger version. Let me know if this is helpful or not. I can always change it back.
General Tips
While not directly related to solving the puzzles, I wanted to add a tip or two in case it helps you out.
1) Even if you are not in the mood to play, make it a habit to start the game up and grab the daily reward. You can quit until later right after, but you will need to stock pile as many powerups, keys, bonuses, etc. as you can. They will come in extremely handy.
2) Get your Free Powerup as soon as it becomes available. Once you have earned a free powerup the game ignores any additional potion matches, meaning you are wasting them. Use this as quickly as you can to maximize your matches! Refer to point 5 below.
3) At the early stages of the game, gold bars are worth more than ribbons, because ribbons are almost automatic early on when it is easier to accomplish. Eventually you will have plenty of gold bars, and ribbons become worth much more. Ribbons are needed to let you pass the progress gates that stop you from continuing to higher levels, and not having the ribbon on a level forces you to replay the level multiple times. I am not a fan of replaying the same level over and over just to advance.
It goes without saying you should try for the ribbon on every level the first time playing a level, especially early on. It may be worth using a power up or boots to break that last crate or dirt, rather than having to play the entire level again. This becomes true the farther along you get. Once you past the last progeess gate around level 190-ish, then you can forget the ribbons if you want.
4) Focus on removing all the red tiles first. The goal is to be able to keep advancing, which only requires all the red tiles to be cleared. You can always replay the level later for the ribbon.
As soon as you see the “All red tiles cleared” banner, move on to the next area, if you have the necessary item (ie. torch, axe, pick, crank, etc.). If you do not have a needed item, then focus on finding that quickly. You will want to see each area so that you can guage if it is worth spending gold on boots or using you limited powerup to try to completely clear the board.
If you just get a bad layout or make a few bad moves, then it may be best to save those powerups and gold bars and instead just retry the level.
5) Buy the morning star (mace) powerup from the blacksmith. You do not unlock the mace during game play like some of the other powerups. It is very useful for breaking tiles that are scattered around, whereas a bomb can only impact tiles in the same square. The mace can be bought for 12 gold while the bomb is only 10. It is best to select a mace as the free powerup and buy any bombs you need to conserve gold.
Level 6
The focus of the game is Match-3, so the puzzle levels are scattered throughout the game. Level 6 is the first such puzzle level, and, as such, the easiest. You probably don’t need the solution to this level, however; I will include it for completeness!
Level 12
The next puzzle level is 12, suggesting there will be a puzzle every 6 levels. I guess that means I will have enough material to make this a decent guide. 😀 Let’s get on to the solution so you can earn that ribbon.
Level 24
Well so much for the theory that a puzzle level occurs every 6 levels. The evidence now suggests that the level number doubles each time, but since I am already past the next puzzle level I know that is not the case either. So apparently trying to determine a rhyme or reason is just as puzzling as these levels.
Level 28
Level 28’s puzzle is a fairly straight-foward to solve, but here is the solution just in case you need it.
Level 34
Silver Tale has thus far been a very enjoyable game. I have completged all levels to 3 stars and have all badges. The key is to focus on each move as there is no timer, so try to only make moves that remove dirt, tiles, crates, etc., or make a bomb that is useful. It is okay to leave a bomb on the playfield if it will not remove a tile. Even exploding bombs uses a precious, limited move.
Level 42
The opening moves are pretty obvious, but the ending moves are not,so here are the steps.
Level 48
Next up is level 48. Ribbon acheiving solution below. Step 4 is to double-click the bomb in case it is not clear.
Level 53
This one is a few more moves but not really that difficult. The steps I used are below. Step 8 is
another double-click to complete.
Level 59
Yet another fun litle puzzle level. This one looks complicated but can be solved in 3 moves.
Level 68
Moving right along the next puzzle is solved in 1 move. There are not many choices for this so not hard to solve. Including this for completeness of the guide.
Level 73
Finally a more complicated puzzle to solve. Earn your gold ribbon by following the steps shown below.
Level 83
Another decent puzzle with lots of clutter and confusion. The steps I used to solve it in the required moves is below.
Level 91
More puzzle fun! This is becoming quite the large guide, but I don’t mind if it helps a fellow gamer out. The 8 moves needed are shown below:
Level 97
Another opportunity for an easy ribbon. Just follow the convenient steps shown below:
Level 111
Level 111, with no end in sight. I do not know if I have the stamina necessary to work my way to all the puzzle levels. Only time will tell. However, for now here is the solve to level 111.
Level 122
Level 122 and no end in sight. Typical of one-time pay-to-play games as that maximizes the chance that you will buy something. Anyway, solution is below:
Level 129
Finally a more comlex puzzle to solve. The four required moves are shown below!
Level 139
Another ribbon to help you move forward…
Level 147
I’ll admit this one took some trial and error to solve, but since I didn’t want to let you down, here is the ribbon-earning solution.
Level 156
A tricky puzzle level for sure. The ribbon earning solution is illustrated below.
Level 164
You have to have a fair amount of patience and passion for Match-3 game play to get this far. Keeping your horse healthy is an aggravating game mechanic in my opinion, but here I am still playing….
Level 176
This puzzle is straight-forward and easy to solve. Here is the solution I used.
Level 186
Pretty simple puzzle, but it takes a ton of playing to get this far though.
Level 193
This puzzle is pretty fishy… The 10 steps are shown below.
Level 199
This is the last puzzle level. At this point in the game I am gald to be getting finished. The levels are too long to complete with the moves you are given by default, so you have no choice but to spend many gold bars to get more turns. Still it has been a fairly fun game and I feel I got my money’s worth. Let’s get on with the last solution so you can finish the game as well.
Conclusion
Once again you have my utmost thanks for taking time out of your busy gaming schedule to check out my humble guide. I certainly appreciate any feedback you may have as to improvements I can make.
