Overview
To skip to this; Go to options > keyboard > advanced, then tick enable developer console then click OK. Then in keyboard settings look for Toggle Developer Console. Set it to whatever you want. I reccomend setting it to the ` key so then you can open it while you are on the pause menu or the main menu. The default key is “~”, called the tidle key. It is below the “ESC” key. Open the console then type mp escape_02 or map testchmb_a_15.
Step 1: Enabling the Developer Console.
The reason why it is called the ‘Developer Console’, is because mostly developers used it to change settings. Now everyone uses it.
First, go to OPTIONS, then go to the Keyboard tab. After that, click Advanced…, then tick Enable developer console. Click OK, and OK again.
Step 1a: Using the developer console.
The developer console is in every game made by VALVe or every mod for Source engine mod.
The console is easy to use and you can spawn anything. If you want a list of commands, click here! The classic “impulse 101” and “impulse 82” commands even work in Portal. Give it a try!
The commands are what (I think) developers use.
Step 2: Opening the map.
Now, open the Developer console and type one of these commands (without the “)
“map testchmb_a_15”
“map escape_00”
“map escape_01”
map escape_02″
Step 2a: Map notes.
These aren’t the notes for every map.
testchmb_a_15 – Test Chamber 19
escape_00 – First escape seqeunce
escape_01 – Turret fights and pistons
escape_02 – Mega turret ambush and GLaDOS battle.
