Overview
So I have some lag issues with Hotline Miami 2, here are two tips and something I’m dealing with
Issue with Full + Vsync
So a problem is that the game starts working but then later slows down, on this Discussion: [link] thebiomage says “change the fullscreen mode from on to off (and apply changes), then change it back on. After this, the performance is smooth again. You need to redo this fix every time the game is launched.” I have tested this method myself, it does work, but I still get a small chance of lag, this was not what I am dealing with but hey it worked for me.
Lag hell + Texture Popping (UNRESOLVED)
I don’t know if there is a fix for it yet but this is the one I am getting: So I start the game and go download a custom level, when I play it, it starts working fine, when I get into gameplay, a few retries later the game starts lagging (even with Vanilla Custom Levels), then when I continue through this laggy mess, when I shoot or kill an enemy the game starts texture popping. (WTF am I talking about?)
well it’s hard to say but the game shows different textures in place of others like poles or ledges, then there is a rare chance that random decals start appearing on the ground and it stops lagging
Again I did use the other fix by thebiomage and it did work by stopping most of the lag hell I was getting but it did work fine, however, the game still lags but not as much and the texture popping has stopped.
(I will also post this on R/Hotline Miami for others as well, Prob not corrupted save data since the previous discussion helped me)
Issue with Hardware
[link] Hot cross puns ask for help since when he/she starts the game it starts lagging, Silent said it can happen with weak hardware (why that was not in quotes is because I didn’t say it word for word) Hot cross puns asked Silent how he/she could fix it, Silent replies “Well, what’s your specs? Tried lowering the resolution as much as you can and disabling VSync?” it worked for Hot cross puns, maybe it would work for you.
(haven’t tested it yet)
Thanks for viewing
I know this may be a short guide but it could be helpful, also if you have any fixes yourself post them in the comments and I will add them into this guide!
