Small Grid Mining Ship User Guide

Overview

How to make the most out of DMIs small grid mining ships.DMI Miner Collection

General Information

DMIs Small grid mining ships are divided in three categories.
Every category has 5 ships in size XS, S, M, L and XL

Let’s begin with the Allrounder: Interplanetary mining ships.
These ships rely on a mix of hydrogen thrusters for space and maneuvering and atmosphere thrusters to hold elevation on planets. This enables them to fly everywhere.

Next the ones with the biggest Cargo space: Space/Moon mining ships.
These ships use ion thrusters to be used on Moons without atmosphere and in space.
They have the biggest Cargo space of all mining ships.

Finally the most specialised: Atmosphere mining ships
These ships use atmosphere thrusters and can be built very early when starting on a planet.
They possess very balanced stats of flight time acceleration and cargo space.

To make sure all craft are reliable and easy to use they had been tested for weeks.

Hotbar/Controlls

DMIs Small Grid Mining Ships are Built to be as uniform as posible. All Ships use the same Button Layout if a ship does not have a Block or function fitted, the Button stayes empty
The ships use 4 Hotbars.
1. Flight Operations
2. Connection / Docking
3. Thrust Adjuster / Energy Managment
4. Repair Projector [PAM]

LCDs

Here is the overview of the status and information screens in the cockpit.
Note that the position of the PAM and Shiplayout screens is at the topside of the cockpit for the M and L mining ships.
Note that the Cargo screen is on the right side of cockpit for the XS mining ships
here is a detailed discription of the screens left to right, top to bottom.

Planet to Space Fuel Efficient

Whats your record on Fuel Saving? Post it on the Blueprint Comments.

Space to Planet

If you try to land on Planets with minimal Fuel consumed follow this steps.
Aim to the spot on the Planet you would like to land on.
Got to Hotbar 1 and press 3 and accelerate to 100 ms.
at 2000 meters make sure the Down Hydrogen Thrusters are on. if not Hit Hotbar 3 Button 3
When fully loaded level the ship with the ground at 1100 meters
When empty level the ship with the ground at 750 meters
To get the testes breaking statistic, for horizontal and vertical breaking refer to the ship matrix.

If you need to stop in an Emergency go to hotbar 1 and hit 8 and 9 Hit.
The ship will turn on all thrusters and Deploy its Parachutes.
Level the ship to be at 45° wIth the ground or in the direction you want to stop.
This way the Front and bottom thrusters will all engae and stop the ship in the shortest distance.
note that the vertical breaking statistic for the Atmosphere and Space/Moon mining ships has been tested with that feature.

Docking

To land the ship efficently head to the connector at a 90° angle.
Stop 5m infront of it and turn 180° with the back facing the Connector.
Use the Back Camera (Hotbar 2 button 1) to look back.
Make sure the Croshair aims just above the Connector Circle.
The Connector Indicator shows you the Ship Connector Relativ to the Camera position.
Carfully fly back and connect the ship with the Connector and/or the Landing gear.
The Landing gear connection can be used for Salvage operation.
As a added Security. if some one on the connected grid presses “p” and disconnects all Connectors the ship will still bea attached by the landiung gear.
