Smite A-Z Arena Guide #1 Agni

Overview

Why hello there and welcome to my smite arena guide series ^.^

Just nice to know

Agni ! aka :
– The fire that cleanses the world
– “Die Insect”
– Double Trouble
– The Indian Missles Depot

Agni is a high Damage, moblie, nukeing Mage, who excels in fishing for cc and harassing the enemy team while also being slippery enough to escape pretty much anything thrown at him.

Skills

Agnis Passiv is Combustion

After hitting 4 basic attacks Agnis next “Flame Wave” or “Rain Fire”
will deal 6 ticks of 5 + 10 % of your Power.

This Passiv is a great way to ad some more sting to your poke Damage and should be abused as much as possible!

Agnis first ability is “Noxious Fumes”
Agni puts a circle of poisonous gas on the ground dealing 10-50 + 5 % of your Power.
As soon as one of the other skills enters the circle it explodes stunning every enemie inside.

This is Agnis only way to cc enemys and therefore should be used with caution.
The best way is to try and fish for stuns while you are safe behind a beefy teammate that can peel for you. Never use it just to clear a wave or to interupt a back … since that could end up killing you.
You will find that Noxious Fumes can be hard to hit sometimes so try to use your “Flame Wave” or “Rain Fire” first before casting “Noxious Fumes”. This might be hard to do at first but is the most efficient and consistent way to hit stuns, since it does not matter where you hit the cirle.

Agnis second ability is “Flame Wave”
This is Agnis Bread and Butter.
Agni throws out a litteral “Flame Wave” in a straight line dealing 90-290 + 65 %.

This Skill is poke, waveclear and a almost instant Fumetrigger if used before Fumes.
This ability chunks early so try to hit minions and gods in one use for max. efficiency.

Agnis third ability is “Path of Flames”
Agnis dashes Forward, leaving a path of flames behind
dealing 4 ticks of 20 – 60 + 15 % of your power.
… I guess hirez was realy creative with the names for agnis skills …

This is agnis only way of escape and should only be use as such.
Before jumping into a enemy god, you should always consider if you can get out afterwards.
I find myselfe holding it most of the time … just to be safe.
A common combo if someone jumps onto you is, placing Fumes under yourselfe and dashing away, stunning the enemy in the process.

And now to his Ultimate

Agnis Ultimate is called “Rain Fire”
This abillity is what makes agnis a true missile launch pad.
Agni can store up to 3 Halos that recharge over time … so he can store ammo ;D
For each Halo agni may summon a meteor dealing 160 – 300 + 60 % of your power.

This ability is a huge poke or burst tool.
Because of its huge radius its also easy to hit.
Its also agnis best ability to hit your stuns since you can cast it and use your fumes very easily after, letting the meteor just fall into it.

Items

Since agni has allright damage scaling and rather high cooldowns getting a mix of pen and raw damage is probably the best idea.

  • For my first item I would get Book of Thoth or Warlocks Sash depending on the situation, since either will provide you with alot of power as the game goes on.
  • For Boots I like Focus over Magi since I am aiming for 40 % cooldown mid to late game.
Getting Magi is a pretty good way to go too it just depents on your preference.

  • Next ill usually grab a Chronos Pendant for the cooldown and some much needed mp5.
  • Depending on the enemy id either go for a good pen item like Obsidian Shard or Spear of Magus
or if the enemy team is not building alot of magic defence a Rod of Tahuti. Either way ill get both.

  • My last item usually is a big power spike or something very defencive, like a Soul Reaver or a Bulwark or Hope.

So my final build would look something like this:

  • Warlocks Sash
  • Shoes of Focus
  • Chronos Pendant
  • Obsidian Shard
  • Rod of Tahuti
  • Soul Reaver

Final Thoughts

Overall agni has some realy good damage and can provide nice follow up on many actions your team or the enemy team might provide.
If you pick agni in arena youll have to know how to stay safe and still hit the important backline gods.
He definitely is a rather straight forward god but has a high skill ceiling and alot of potential.

So I guess ill just rank him like this

  • Difficulty: 5 / 10 ez to play / hard to master
  • Mobility: 7 / 10 pretty good with 1 -> 3 combo
  • Damage: 7,5 / 10 pretty ez just fire away
  • Toughness: 7 / 10 agni is probalbly one mage that can build more tanky and stil work
  • MyOverallEnjoyment: 5 / 10
Agni is a mage I usally dont pick up as much. He is realy allright in everything he does but does not stand out to me as a realy fun god since all he does is rather basic.
His only gimmick is his stun that he can trigger in many different ways and mastering that is rather entertaining but does not make him more fun than some of the other mages… sadly.

So thats it for now, thanks for reading my guide on agni šŸ™‚
