Guide Notes

Hello everyone!

This is going to be my very first guide on the STEAM community page.
This guide was inspired by my friend.
I will try to do my best to help out everyone!! 🙂

(If you are new to the game , please go ahead and check out This guide by Nystical)

This guide will probably either be W.I.P. (Work In Progress) for a long time, or never finished.
I myself have played Dungeon Defenders 369 Hours and 18 hours of Dungeon Defenders Eternity.
I don’t claim this to be the only way of playing, but these builds have been giving the best results after multiple test run with different characters, players and builds.

More than anything, I hope that this guide will actually help everyone or even just 1 person.

*Remember that there is never one right build, but instead many different styled and leveled builds*

Thank you and Enjoy!

How to Play Solo?

In this next image, I will show you how to actually start up a “private” solo game on normal difficulty in the map “Deeper Well

Text Guide:
Go to the Crystal in the lobby/tavern and “Press E to play” or Press the G button anywhere in the lobby/tavern to activate the same menu.

Once that is done, select a map on the left-hand side of the menu.
Then you can select the difficulty setting on the right-hand side.
After that, click on the Green button that says “Host a Private Session” to start up the map.

Deeper Well

A brand new character on the first map.

The setup that you might want to use/need on the first round/wave looks like this:
Even though you have defences on the map, you can and you should go and give your sword couple of swings at the enemies.

As you are playing solo Squire, you want to always level up your Defence Power and later on Defence Speed.

After You level up, you will gain access to new defences that are better.
Use the Bouncer Blockade now for the rest of the map, like this:

____________________________________________________________________________

Remember what I said about the sword earlier? This is why you need to do it… Archers will not always walk into the trap, but instead will try to destroy it with ranged attacks.

____________________________________________________________________________

Now that you got all that down, you are good to go, until the very last enemy dies, and you win the map.

NOTE: If you use up all the “Defence Unit” points (60/60) you will earn extra points.
NOTE: The faster you defeat a wave, the more points you get.

Foundries and Forges

The 2nd map “Foundries and Forges” is a bit larger and more complicated than the first one and might seem like a big jump in difficulty as well.
The layout of the map looks like this when you first time spawn into the map.

You want to start the map by getting 2 Bouncer Blockades, 1 to left and 1 to right side.

You will now have to go to the middle to kill the enemies yourself, until you have enough money for another Bouncer Blockade (40 mana).

Then go and summon one in the middle like this:

During the first wave and after it, please go and summon 2 Bouncer Blockades on each side on the middle, in the stairs and the map should look like this:

Now feel free to kill everything with your sword and upgrade your defences to lvl 1, or build more, but don’t waste all units, as you are going to need at least 20-30units later. Remember to also REPAIR your units when you can and when needed.

BEFORE the last wave, you should have ulocked the Harpoon Turret defence.

Be sure to place 3 of them in middle like so: Because there will be OGRE spawning on the last round which will have A LOT of health compared to the other enemies!

When you get enough mana, be sure to spawn more Harpoon Turrets to the side that the OGRE will walk to. (Should always go to your left)
Forexample, like this:

NOTE: If you use up all the “Defence Unit” points (80/80) you will earn extra points.
NOTE: The faster you defeat a wave, the more points you get.
NOTE: YOU HAVE TO KILL ARCHERS OR HIT THEM TO THE DEFENCES OR THEY WILL SHOOT THEM DOWN!

Magus Quarters

The 3rd map “Magus Quarters” is probably the easiest map in the whole game and it looks very simple, enemies have only 3 ways to 1 crystal.

The setup that I recommend using on first wave is to have 1 Bouncer Blockade on each side (Left and Right)

Now that you have them, go into the middle yourself and melee the first enemies down to get 40 Mana for new Bounce Blockade
Then place the new Bouncer Blockade in the middle in the same way as on left and right.

For the next wave, you want to start preparing as many Harpoon Turrets as possible by placing 2 on each side and middle. +1 for both front corners (North-West and North-East)

Continue by adding 2 Harpoon turrets on both sides of the ones on North-West and Nort-East corners and some on the front stairs, like so:

Reason for the side turrets are Wyverns that will fly from there to crystal, but not with these turrets!

Remember to go and upgrade the Bouncer Blockades up to lvl 1 when you can.
Also make sure to upgrade the front Harpoon Turrets to lvl 1, this is to kill last wave OGRE fast.

Talking about last wave.. This is what your setup should look like when starting last wave, notice the upgrade levels on my defences.

NOTE: If you use up all the “Defence Unit” points (90/90) you will earn extra points.
NOTE: The faster you defeat a wave, the more points you get.

The Dread Dungeon

4th map “The Dread Dungeon” will most likely look like a really confusing and complicated big map at start, but is actaully easy to build.

For the 1st wave, set up 2 Bouncer Blockades like I have shown on the map; one on right side of crystal in front of the last bit of stairs and one on the left side on the bridge.

Now as the wave starts run to the top left corner of the map, down at the spawning doors to kill enemies with melee, until you have at least 40-80 mana.

Once you killed the first bit of enemies, run back and collect more mana and start building Harpoon Turrets around the crystal like this:

*NOTE* Once you have Harpoon turrets to both sides, you may remove the Bouncer Blockades!

As the waves progress, keep collecting mana and building more Harpoon Turrets to the left side of crystal like so:

The full setup should look a little something like this:

Now start first upgrading your right side of the crystal, as there is less defences to that direction.
Before the last wave, you should have had enough time and mana to upgrade the defences to at least this point:

Now you are done, you can either wait for the last wave to end or keep upgrading or killing enemies.

NOTE: If you use up all the “Defence Unit” points (70/70) you will earn extra points.
NOTE: The faster you defeat a wave, the more points you get.

Alchemical Laboratory (The 1st Boss Map)

The 5th map “Alchemical Laboratory” is extremely small and tight map with an end boss The Demon Lord!

To start off the map, all you need is 2 Bouncer Blockades, placed like so:

During the First wave and after, try to gather enough mana and time to build Harpoon Turrets around the crystal, facing north, like so:

Also remember to place 2 Bouncer Blockades as fast as possible behind the crystal, like this:

Next you want to start upgrading the Bouncer Blockades at front/north to lvl 2 as fast as possible, because of the dmg from the explosions.

During COMBAT PHASE, place 2 Harpoon Turrets like so, facing at the crystal.

To get full Defense Units, you can place 1 Bouncer Blockade in front of them and upgrade them all to lvl 2

If you haven’t yet, go ahead and run to the back side to upgrade both of the Bouncer Blockades to lvl 1 and then lvl 2.

Remember to keep repairing the front/north defences all the time!!

Before the Final Wave (Boss Wave) you should have something like this:

If you wondered before: “why do you place them like this?!?!“, you will now see when the boss spawns what happens..
With my character it took around 1.5-3 seconds to kill it completely!

NOTE: If you use up all the “Defence Unit” points (85/85) you will earn extra points.
NOTE: The faster you defeat a wave, the more points you get.
