Bloons TD Battles Guide

Spud's assault strategy of awesome for Bloons TD Battles

Spud’s assault strategy of awesome

Overview

I have a strategy for assault, it works farily well, and you can read this to learn it

towers and stuff

for this strategy you need these towers:
  • Monkey aprentice (tier 3+ required)
  • Sniper monkey (tier 2 will work, but not nearly as well as higher ones)
  • Banana farm (tier 3+ required)
how effective it is on what maps:

(10=this strategy’s full power)

Map
rating
misc info
mondrian
0/10
this map has a glitch that makes whirlwinds send bloons from normal path to sent bloon exit, BACKFIRES ALMOST IMEDIATELY BECAUSE OF THIS
super monkey lane
10/10
normal bloons and sent bloons enter and exit in the same places, plenty of land, I suggest using this map for your first few uses of this strategy
wattle resorts
8/10
large empty space for farms on the edge of the screen, minimal water
riverside
?/10
untested
mountain pass
6/10
effective enough here, but you’re better off with a different strategy
cards
7/10
map too short for lightning bolts to be as effective, but otherwise good
race track
?/10
untested
mine
6/10
TIER 4 FARMS REQUIRED would be PERFECT, but there isn’t enough space for many farms
park
9/10
really good map for this strategy, try to roll for some tack shooters to put in the round bits if you have enough battle energy
temple
9/10
good spot for farms on the edge of the screen, and the temple itself is a good out of the way place for snipers
yin yang
4/10
too much water, if you use this strategy an this map anyway, try to roll for a water based tower, path 2 ships would help against moabs if you don’t have moab stunning tier 4 snipers
hydro dam
3/10
yet again too much water, roll for water based towers or get your butt kicked :/
battle park
8/10
good spot for farms on the edge of the screen, fairly long, lots of space
battle river
4/10
it’s a river, obviously too much water, and it’s spread out water so getting ships as your bonus tower won’t help as much
battle sands
7/10
plenty of land
yellow brick road
?/10
untested
swamp
8/10
perfect spot for an aprentice in the center
patch
7/10
lots of land, fairly long, single exit
snowfall
6/10
like patch, but shorter and bloons the opponent send go backwards
water hazard
5/10
too much water, it IS in the name after all
indoor pools
5/10
far too short, but possible if you’re brave enough, and can buy enough farms & snipers to fill the massive spaces
A game
3/10
not only do the normal, and opponent sent bloons have their own entrances and exits, they’re on completely different paths!
ice flow
2/10
its at least 70% water, you can barely use this strategy on it
offside
7/10
the path is long, but clumped together so there is plenty of room away from it for farms
snowy castle
5/10
TIER 4 FARMS REQUIRED aside from the lack of spaces for farms, its a pretty good track for this strategy
interchange
6/10
the track is too wide so there is barely any space for farms, and effective placement of aprentices is difficult with the arches over the road
concrete alley
?/10
untested, but it’s got a lot of land so it’s worth a try
swan lake
4/10
water we gonna do about this lack of space for farms?
bloon circles
?/10
untested
ink blot
?/10
untested
hot tub
2/10
lava sucks in this game, theres no use for it whatsoever, it just gets in the way
zen garden
2/10
I’m sure most of you agree that this map is super annoying in assault mode

if you want a rating for this strategy’s effectivity on an untested map, either wait or test it yourself and comment, you can also suggest re-ratings if you feel like any of these aren’t accurate

I hope you apreciate this, lists like that aren’t too easy to make, and this game having this many maps doesn’t exactly help

earlygame

place an aprentice, if there is a straight path next to it give it intense magic, and if theres a lot of path close together give it fireballs

next save up for a banana farm, put it somewhere out of the way, give it long life bananas and more bananas before moving on to the next step

try to get to this point by round 5, but unless you are in a club match with special rules it’s almost impossible to do that faster than round 3

now place a sniper with strong targeting setting somewhere out of the way, but preferrably not too close to the farm, give it faster reload, night vision and full metal jacket as fast as you can, but in any order you choose

then get banana plantation, after this the strategy becomes much more flexable

before round 27

on round 27 there is a lot of moabs in case you didn’t know that allready, and if you aren’t prepared they will wreck you, this section will tell you which upgrade paths you should use to prepare for that

Monkey aprentice

if near the end of the track
path 1 (whirlwind/tempest tornado)
if anywhere else
path 2 (dragon’s breath/pheonix)

Sniper

if opponent is peaceful, or sends low amounts of strong bloons
path 1 (deadly precision/cripple moab)
if opponent sends regular rushes, or you allready have 5+ path 1 snipers
path 2 (semi automatic rifle/supply drop)

banana farms

this one is really a matter of preferance
but I usually use path 1 (banana republic/banana research facility)

I suggest you have at least 1 path 1 sniper
and 4/5 aprentices, at least one for each upgrade path

lategame

from now upgrade the snipers however you like, but keep upgrading your aprentices the same way as before round 27, but path 1 snipers are preffered in this strategy because they are supposed to deal with strong bloons, and leave rushes to the aprentices

on the maps this strategy is less effective, you will most likely die on round 33 so attack before then

if you do survive that brace yourself for the BFB that keeps killing me over and over, if you get past that you’re on your own, and have learnt all you can from this guide, for now.

things I might add to the guide later

random potatoes because I like them
more puns because everyone needs a good laugh
