Overview
A collection of secrets, cool stuff, and hidden things in this game gathered by the community (that’s YOU!). Made because there were some interesting questions I had while playing the game and there wasn’t any guides or something containing possible lore or secrets already that could answer them. Special thanks to the developers of this game for crafting such a unique and wonderful experience, OneyNG and his wacky friends for introducing me to this beautiful game, and TinyPirate for providing footage and screenshots from the Kickstarter build of this game 3 years ago via his YouTube channel! All screenshots/footage provided with permission from the original poster, or whatever the proper legal jargon for that is supposed to be.
Foreword
Hello, and welcome to my guide for Exo_One!
This is less of a guide, as the description might have already told you, and more of a collection of knowledge on the game for us to look over and theorize on while we wait for the full experience. I know I’ve already said this once, but thanks so much once again to the https://www.youtube.com/user/Exbleative, https://www.youtube.com/user/OneysVideoHole and his wacky friends, and https://www.youtube.com/c/TinyPirate. This guide wouldn’t be possible without you!
Creator’s Note: As of the time of finishing the current version of this guide, it is currently 1:00 AM. So, rather than risk my job by staying up so late I wake up tomorrow evening, I am going to instead wait and add the remaining sections to this guide sometime tomorrow. So if you see this note, congrats on being such an early bird! The next sections of this guide will be “Things You’ve Found” “Questions I’ve Had”, “Questions You’ve Had”, “Answers We’ve Reached”, “Early Access Story and Screenshots”, and “Miscellaneous Lore, Secrets, and Screenshots”. Be sure to leave your current questions you’d love to see answered down in the comments below, so I can add some questions (and maybe even some answers?) to the guide tomorrow when I finish up the remaining sections! (Also, if the database grows large enough, I’ll merge the “__ I’ve __” and “__ You’ve __” sections together to tidy up the guide a bit.)
Creator’s Note 2: Everyone, I am so sorry to keep you waiting for the finished version of this guide for so long! I recently got a new job that takes up next to all of my time, where I get started sometime in the late morning and get off at night. As a result I’m always so exhausted it’s hard to muster up the willpower to write. However, one of these days I swear I’ll be able to finish up everything left that I’ve left empty! If someone would like to help me write some of the final parts to be finished, please feel free to send me a message and I’ll work with you when I’m available to write it out!
Introduction Sequence
Things We’ve Found
Okay, so there really isn’t much to put here other than the obvious stuff (AKA screenshots of text that appears at a few moments in the game), but in the next section I’ll be going over some questions the game had me thinking of as well as some answers to those questions if we can find some. So, please excuse the dumb placeholder names (those will be in quotation marks) I’ve come up with, and here we go!
Sagan IV:

A picture of Sagan IV from orbit. If you look closely the surface appears to be bright red/orange, with scattered clouds and large lakes/oceans. But in the game, you play in an area primarily grey with small bits of reddish-brown showing in between with large amounts of clouds everywhere. Does this mean we don’t actually play on the surface of Sagan IV?
Photo of the “Lost Team” to Jupiter:
~Submitted by: DayDream~
The intro to the game mentions some kind of disaster over Jupiter, killing all but one of the team who went there. Now I might be inferring a little bit here, but it seems based on how the survivor mentioned the signal was “meant for me” that they harbor a ton of guilt for what happens and is willing to do whatever it takes to get them back or at least get some closure for their deaths. What happened? We’ll discuss that in a bit, hopefully.
“Approaching Energy Upgrade” Text:
~Submitted by: DayDream~
When you begin approaching the smaller, white light that can be seen at the beginning of your journey, you will soon see a strange black sphere in the middle of a wind tunnel. This appears to be some kind of upgrade that fills you with an insane amount of energy, “filling” your “containment” and increasing the amount of energy you can store (allowing you to glide longer).
“Obtained Energy Upgrade” Text:
~Submitted by: DayDream~
This is the energy upgrade located in the wind tunnel close to the beginning of the game. It appears to be some kind of upgrade that fills you with an insane amount of energy, “filling” your “containment” and increasing the amount of energy you can store (allowing you to glide longer). For some reason, however, it also appears to have a negative effect on “clock back-synchronization” and a stabilizing effect on something known simply as the “Flow”.
“End of Demo” Text:
~Submitted by: DayDream~
Here is a screenshot I took while making the approach to the “Transport Monolith” that is seemingly supposed to be the goal of your journey. The demo seems to last 11 minutes and 30 seconds if you don’t get too close to this monolithic structure, but after reaching a certain distance away the game ends abruptly to stop you from making too much progress.
Approaching “World’s End” (or just the edge of the game…):
~Submitted by: DayDream~
If you go too far backwards or to the sides of the game area, you will find yourself looking at something similar to this. Your sphere will be pulled back into the game area, your camera will be centered on the beam emanating from the “Transport Monolith”, and your power will flicker and stutter until you return to the playable area.
Underneath the Surface:
~Submitted by: DayDream~
This is just a bug/glitch I encountered while testing the game’s boundaries, which shows some kind of ocean/wavy texture located below the surface. A quick note that this was taken close to the beginning of the game, before the cliff that marks the end of the movement tutorial.
“Wormhole to Nowhere”:
~Submitted by: DayDream~
While I didn’t catch a sceenshot of this event in progress (and to be honest, I feel like a video clip would be more adequate for this one), I discovered this event via a discussion on the game’s forums. If you press Shift plus any of the F1-12 keys, some text comes on screen describing a wormhole aperture opening along with information about time spent on the planet and “total” time, possibly meaning that the game will keep track of how long you spend on each planet and how long you’ve spent playing in total.

Quick Note: I currently don’t have the time to write entries for all of these screenshots, so for a while they may just be left without entries. But don’t worry, I’ll get on it soon!
