Blood Bowl 2 Guide

Stadium Upgrades for Blood Bowl 2

Stadium Upgrades

Overview

Detailed information about stadium upgrades and enhancements.

Introduction

Thank you for considering to upgrade your stadium. We at Stadium Enhancements Inc. believe that upgrading your stadium is a vital part of Blood Bowl and thus have tried to compile this guide to ease your decision-making and provide concise and useful information about our range of top-class stadium enhancements.

When to upgrade?

Although information is scarce it is believed that you should consider at least two factors before you upgrade your stadium: the amount of funds available to you and fan factor of your team.

The first factor is quite simple. You need 100k gold for the Level 1 stadium upgrade and it allows you to build one stadium enhancement (see description below). Level 2 upgrade costs 200k gold and that acts a sink for your funds. This way you can decrease the amount of funds you have and lower your team value giving less petty money to your opponents. Each level will affect the changes to the fan factor of your team. The top tier stadium is Level 4.

The fan factor is also important because having more fans grants you better gold rewards when the match is over. This is important since there are upkeep costs or spiralling costs after you build your first enhancement. Your income should be large enough so that you can both support your team by replacing injured or dead players and pay the upkeep for your stadium. Upkeep might be as low as 10k per game or more than 50k per game depending on the level of your stadium and luck (praise to Nuffle).

The rule of thumb is to play at least 10 games and get the fan factor above 5. If you feel confident about winning more that 50 per cent of your games and there are enhancements that suite your play style it is definitely worth upgrading your stadium.

Enhancements

There are 10 different enhancements and each one costs 100k gold to build. Some suit your play style and some simply cancel different random events during the game. It is important to remember that an enhancement (and the level of your stadium) is active and affects the game only when the game is played in your stadium. Enhancements are listed in no particular order.

Security gate

The ‘Riot’ and ‘Pitch Invasion’ kick-off events are cancelled

Security gate protects players of both teams from spectators. The two events are simply cancelled. Might be useful against teams with much higher fan factor (in a closed tournament for example).

Beer stand

+1 on Injury rolls when a player is pushed off the pitch

It means that a player who is pushed off the pitch is more likely to get an injury. Useful against teams that tend to play close to the sideline or if you try to force the opposing team to play closer to the sideline.

Magician’s shop

During the Inducements phase, both teams receive a Wizard at no cost

Both teams can use the Wizard power once during the game. It might be more useful against teams that rely on caging and blocking and a tiny bit less effective against teams that rely on passing and movement.

Referee rest area

During the Inducements phase, both teams receive a Bribe at no cost

Very effective for teams that want to foul the opposing players. Useful for aggressive, bashy teams.

Astrogranite playing surface

+1 on Armour rolls when a player falls while going for it

The description might be a bit confusing. If a player falls after a GFI, he is more likely to be stunned or injured. Useful against teams that tend to abuse GFIs (e.g. elves, lizards etc.)

Elf turf

-1 on Armour rolls when a player falls while going for it

This enhancement has the opposite effect to astrogranite surface. A player is less likely to be stunned or injured if he fails a GFI. Great for teams that want to risk and go for it. Important: the surface enhancements do not affect the success or failure rate of a GFI.

Royal box

Doubles all gains and losses of Fan Factor

The Royal box affects the change of fan factor after the game. The description is pretty self-explanatory. If you tend to win most of the games at your home stadium, this enhancement will increase your income over time.

Squig sandwich kiosk

The ‘Throw a Rock’ and ‘Get the Ref’ kick-off events are cancelled

This one cancels the two events mentioned above. Might be useful against teams with much higher fan factor (in a closed tournament for example).

Magic dome

The weather always starts as ‘Nice’ and the ‘Changing Weather’ kick-off event is cancelled

The description if self-explanatory. More useful for teams that tend to have trouble picking up and passing the ball. There will be no rain in your stadium and picking up the ball will always be as ‘easy’ and usual.

Nuffle altar

During the Inducements phase, Star Players cost 50k less

This could be useful for teams that have Team value that is much lower compared with other teams (e.g. in a closed tournament). Some say that you get a blessing from Nuffle after you build the altar but that has proven to be false claim. Nuffle does as he pleases.

Final notes

All the level upgrades and the enhancement you have chosen will change the visual appearance of your stadium and there are some achievements that are tied in with upgrading your stadium.

Stadium upgrades generally is a way of ‘sinking’ your funds. For the moment the stadium level and enhancements do not affect your Team value rating so if you have more than 150k of gold at your disposal and your team roster is done the way you want consider improving your stadium with Stadium Enhancements Inc.

Best of luck and praise to Nuffle!
