Starters Equipment Guide

Overview

This Guide is meant for starters who can aquire decently strong gear right after exiting the sewers. What this guide will include: -Useful Armor and weapons -Enchanted Jewlery -More Gold -No cheats and no mods, only Vanilla Oblivion with all DLC’s.

Intro

Hello there, this is a simple guide which will show you how to get useful equipment when starting out. There will be no cheats or mods to obtain these items. Only Vanilla Oblivion with DLC’s.

Basic Equipment

First and formost, go to Weynon Priory, near Chorrol, and speak to Jauffre. After speaking to him about the amulet of kings ask him about “Assistance” he will open a chest for you. Inside the chest you will find Weapons, Armor, Potions, and Scrolls. A Perfect way to start the game.

Next, since your already near Chorrol Join the Fighter’s Guild and Mage’s Guild. It is free to join and you will gain access to their guild. Which Includes, many free weapons, armor, potions, potion makers, ingredients, and increased disposition with your fellow faction members.

Silver Shortsword + Fine Steel Longsword
In the Chorrol Fighters Guild, on the third floor, you will find a Silver Shortsword and two Fine Steel Longswords. Remember, you must join the Fighter’s Guild in order to take these weapons.

Steel Armor
1. On the Second Floor East in the Leyawiin Fighter’s Guild, there are three doors. Open the south door or the right, and you will find a full set of steel armor exluding the shield.

2. If you have the Fighter’s Stronghold DLC, go to the castle, which is northeast of Chorrol, and you will find a dead body'(s) with a full suit of steel armor, with shield and sword. Just to warn you though, you will have to fight Marauders.

3. If you have the Shivering Isles Expansion Pack, which you should, then travel to “A Strange Door” it is just west of Bravil. You must wait around two in-game days in order to get notified of the SI quest. Once you arive at the Strange Door, someone will come out, and you can either help the guard kill him, or let the guard just kill him by himself. Now go inside the strange door, and sit down in the chair and speak to Haskil. Now if you travel North West, you will end up finding a small town. in the town if you look around, you should be able to find a flight of stairs. Travel up the stairs and at the top, you will find that a Battle has started. Almost every guy will die by the Gatekeeper and each guy has a Full Set of Steel Armor and either a Steel Shield and One-handed Steel Weapon or a two-handed steel weapon.

Caution: The Gatekeeper is very strong at low levels, so just try to dodge around him and loot the bodys.

Leather Armor + Enchanted Steel Sword
See section “Enchanted Gear”

Enchanted Gear

In this section you will find how to get enchanted equipment for your character.

Debasor + Calliben’s Grim Retort + Weatherward Circlet
Go to the Imperial Market District and go to “Jensine’s Merchandise”. Talk to Jensine and talk to her about Thoronir. After speaking to her you will now have started a new quest. Go to The Copious Coinpurse and talk to thoronir about his inventory. After speaking with him, go to the well behind his shop and wait till 2am. A conversation will start between thoronir and a Mysterious figure.

Now go to the Imperial Talos District and go right. Go to Argamir’s House and wait till 5pm. Now break into his house and break into his basement. Take the book “”Macabre Manifest” and go find Thoronir. Speak to him about “Taken from the Dead”.

Now go to the Imperial Palace District and follow your map marker. Go inside and be prepared to fight. In there you will have to fight Argamir and his friend. Kill him and loot his sword Debasor. Also while you are in there, hidden behind the grave of Calliben Trentius is Calliben’s Grim Retort, an enchanted mace.

Go back and talk to thoronir and in reward you will receive Weatherward Circlet. A leveled enchanted ring with resistances to fire and frost. Now go back and talk to Jensine and receive your leveled amount of gold!

Note: Either Sell Debasor or Calliben’s Grim Retort, I wouldn’t keep both. Choose whichever skill you are specialized in. If your specialized in blade, choose Debasor, and vice versa. The Mace is non-leveled meaning if you were level 20 you would find the same weapon with the same enchantments and stats even if you were level 1. So it will be worth alot of money at a lower level.

Leather Armor + Enchanted Steel Sword
Go to the waterfront district and go to The Bloated Float Inn. Talk to Ormil and buy a bed. When you wake up, a quest will start as Blackwater Brigands have entered your ship. You must kill each of them and save Ormil. Each Brigand will have a full set of leather armor, excluding the helmet unfortunately. Once the quest is finished however, you will be rewarded with an Enchanted Steel sword that is leveled. This is an easy quest to start and finish.

Conclusion

This is my first guide ever made, so I hope this helped!
