Overview
An advanced guide on small robots. How to build them, fighting strategy, and some other information mixed in. Enjoy.
Introduction
Hello Robocrafters! My name is Thomas and I’m here to help you with everything robocraft. This is Strat Guide #1 and it goes over small robots. There will be many of these about many things. Please feel free to comment, I’ll answer any questions or just talk with you guys. Side Note- sorry about any grammar, wrong spelling, and other mistakes; the important thing is you guys get what I am saying. Now lets get started shall we? 😉
Chapter 1: SBOD’s (small bots of destruction)
Have you ever thought, “hey maybe I should build a smaller bot so that i am harder to hit and faster.” Only to be blown up within seconds of enemy engagment? Well fear not because your idea was good, as was mine when I first started. In this guide you will learn how to take out the opposition before they even know what hit them using small bots. For the duration of this guide we will call these little pods of havoc SBOD’s (small bots of destruction)
Here is some information about SBOD’s so you can find out if this strategy is for you.
Pros
– quick and agile
– kills quickly and effeciently
– hard to hit
– easy to build
Cons
– hard to use
– gets destroyed quickly …… if given the chance 😉
– not the best at taking down towers
Chapter 2: build guide
Now guys, when building these types of bots feel free to use YOUR style. Im not saying they HAVE to be build a certain way. This is just what (after extensive testing) I came up with. Also, keep in mind this strategy works best on hovering or flying robots but is still affective for ground bots. Ok so the first thing you should know is actually pretty counter intuitive, you would think you should use light armor on your quick and “light” little SBOD but this is actually very wrong. As long as your bot is still small, and has the right stuff on it, it will still be very quick. So taking this into account it is imperitive that you use the BEST armor blocks you can get your hands on! Also I would’nt even recomend building SBOD untill you unlock the first shields. Shields are important because even though you are using the best armor blocks avalible to you, you are still using only a small amount of these armor blocks and you need some form of additional protection. Make sure that your shields are pretty much everywhere that won”t block the fire from your weapons. Which brings us to our next topic, weapons; which we will discuss in chapter 3.
Chapter 3: weapon guide
There are many of weapons in Robocraft but for SBOD’s we will be using SMG’s shown here. These are very good for close range and sustained fire. With these robots you need to get close enough to the enemy where even after your bullets start to spread at least 90% of your shots still connect. This next part is extremely important, when fighting the enemy, no matter what the type of enemy it is you need to be circling around him. Wether you are in the air or on the land CIRCLE around your enemy! This and many other fighting strategies for SBOD’s will be extended upon in chapter 4.
Chapter 4: Destroying the Opposition
Alright, lets continue with circling. Why do this? Well for the most part because it will make you harder to hit, especially when you consider how fast you going, but it will also allow you to get coverage of every part of an enemy bot as you shoot at them. And remember always take out their guns first. Now lets talk about what you can take out with ease and what will be the bane of your existence. Anything that’s using slow firing weapons will get completly wrecked by you, so make sure to bring those rail gunners to thier knees. The only thing your weak against is fast robots that can fly higher than you. Well, that pretty much sums it up. If you have any questions, or would just like to talk, or even form a group, please comment.
