Overview
The Suchomimus. A deadly kiler. Normally, the creature is a piscavore, dining on fish. But in The Isle, it’s quite the contrary. Here, you will learn how to survive as the crocodile mimic.
Suchomimus, the Crocodile Mimic
Suchomimus is a large spinosaurid theropod that lived in the Early Cretaceous period, eating fish and carrion. It weighed around 4 tons and around 34 feet long. It is most noticable for its large, crocodile-like snout, which earned its name. Suchomimus has large, powerful claws and a thick hide to keep it safe from larger theropod dinosaurs.
Basic Lifestyle
As a Suchomimus, your main food source is unwary herbivores (and sometimes carnivores!) that don’t realize your plan until it’s too late. Generally, these animals can be found around waterholes. This is the recommended place for a Suchomimus, as you are fairly fast in water. Listed below are some animals to either hunt or avoid.
Gallimimus
Gallimimus are some of the harder prey to catch. Generally it’s not worth the effort. They are fast and agile and by the time they see you coming they’re a country mile away from you. If your plan is to kill a Gallimimus, try to find limping individuals or ambush one.
Shantungosaurus
Shantungosaurus is a balanced herbivore, being fast but bulky and powerful. Your best chance here is to go after its backside, as both of its attacks only affect the front of the animal. It’s a hardy beast, but once it starts limping it’s dead meat.
Puertasaurus
Should this really be a section? The Puertasaurus takes commitment or luck to kill. You should try to bite its front legs, then if it tries to turn around or stomp, run the other way. A weak or limping Puertasaurus is your best chance.
Diabloceratops
Diabloceratops is a rather small animal, and, if caught, an easy meal. Its main defense is headbutting you while you attack it, which can’t pose a serious threat unless you’re not prepared. Just go on the offense and Diabloceratops is a dinner well earned.
