Overview
This Risen 3 Guide will give you the easiest way to get all achievements in only ONE playhrough. An in depth walkthrough on what and what not to do to complete the game with 100% Achievements.
Introduction
Hello and welcome to my first ever guide on steam! My name is Ambrosius and here we will take a look at Risen 3, I will go through all the things you should keep in mind while playing this game if you are looking to get all the Achievements. Now I picked this game up and instantly sat down four days straight and finished what I’d say would be atleast 90% of all the quests.
I’ve decided to go through chapter to chapter to keep things as simple as possible, this is becuse a lot of achievements are chapter related and this way you can keep track on which achievements you can expect to get on that specific chapter.
Please note that in order to reduce endgame grinding and chances to miss out on Achievements I recommend playing this game thoroughly and with as much exploring as possible. The less exploring and the less quests done will lead to you missing out on some Achievements. Lets get started!
Non Chapter Specific
Before going into chapter related achievements I would like to go through all of the Achievements that you will be getting through story related progress, but also those that you should achieve only by playing the game itself. I will go through how to get them all so it might be worth to look through this section to keep yourself updated on a few things to keep in mind. But as I said, all of these should come naturally.
Healed for the first time
When you have taken some damage, drink some rum or eat some provisions.
Killed 10 monsters
Simply kill 10 monsters.
Acquired 1000 gold
Will come naturally as you complete quests. Note that this is cumulative, which means you don’t have to have 1000 gold at the same time, same goes for the other gold achievement further into the guide.
Found the first treasure in the game
Pretty much just play the game. One of the first quests given. This will not take long to pop up.
Killed 10 scavangers
These are birds, and you should kill 10 of them. Seriously though, you will find them during your whole playthrough.
Killed 20 innocent animals
Kill all the small innocent animals. You know all the animals that can’t fight back… you bastard.
This includes rats, chickens, turtles ect.
Killed 50 Shadow Creatures
These include the obvious monsters, hellhounds, ghouls ect. You wont have trouble finding enough of them.
Killed 500 monsters
Kill stuff, 500 times to be exact. This will come naturally during your playthrough.
Used the parrot 10 times
This should come naturally. If it dosent, simply make a save, use the Parrot Flight spell, and reload. Repeat this 10 times.
Completed 300 quests
If you follow this guide and do the exploring you’re supposed to do then this should come naturally. If you speedrun and only go for the main quests you will miss out on this, but then again that will make you miss out on other achievements as well, which defeats the purpose of this guide so… yeah. Should come by itself.
Travelled by ship 20 times
Use your ship to get to other islands, do this 20 times. Will come naturally.
Collected 10 legendary items
There are a total of 27 legendary items. Do the legendary quests (specified under the legendary tab in your questlog) as you get them and this achievement will come naturally.
Dug up 10 treasures
Play the game, complete quests, complete the legendary quests, this should come naturally.
Save right before you dig up a treasure and reload and dig it up again if you want this quicker.
Complete the quest ‘Lets Get Out of Here’
Recieved on Chapter 1, cannot be missed
Complete the quest ‘The Oracle’s Soldiers’
Recieved on Chapter 2, cannot be missed
Complete the quest ‘Chaos in Harbour Town’
Recieved on Chapter 2, cannot be missed
Complete the quest ‘The Reactor’
Recieved on Chapter 3, cannot be missed

Recieved on Chapter 4, cannot be missed
Chapter l
When starting the game there are quite a few things to remember as this will be crucial to getting all the achievements you will need later on, I will explain them and show the related achievements. Chapter one is all about learning the game and doing the things described below, all of this will be used for lategame purposes.
All of these things below will be explained more in depth further down.
- Do not sell items from your inventory (Unless necessary)
- Do not spend any Glory (Until given time)
- Do not speedrun, take your time exploring.
- Do not mess with people (Help them, be friendly)
- SAVE, SAVE, AND SAVE.
1. The reason why we do not want to sell items is because of Hoarder and Miser
These two achievements require you to acquire 100,000 and 300,000 gold.
The reason you want to save items in your inventory is because near the end game when your inventory hopefully is stacked, you can simply find a merchant and make a save. And then sell everything you have. Reload the save and then sell it all over, do this until both achievements pops.
The more items you hold, the less times to reload, I only had to do this twice.
2. The reason why we sadly cannot spend any glory during the first and second chapter of the game is because of 8 Achievements, yep you heard me right, 8 achievements. That’s almost 10% of all the achievements right away.
All these achievements require you to acquire 100 attribute points in each attribute, sadly this is impossible in one run without an insane amount of farming. So instead we take another route.
In order to raise an attribute from 10 to 100 you will have to spend about 160,000 Glory. I got about 163,000 at the end of Chapter 2, and I did a whole lots of exploring/quests/monsters.
Once you have 160,000, make a save. Or hell make two or three saves just in case of a screwup. Simply raise an attribute to 100, reload and then do this for each attribute. When you have the 8 Achivements, feel free to start spending the Glory on whatever you want. You’ve earned it.
I recommend playing on easy and using Bones as your companion since you will be quite underpowered during the first two chapters. And the heals from Bones is pretty useful.
Another small recommendation is to kill all the small animals. Rats, monkeys and turtles ect. They give 10-20 glory each and it will be quite a lot in the end. I promise it’s for the greater good.
I also recommend getting Freddie’s Shackles. This is a DLC item but it will give a 10% bonus on all Glory earned. This item should be the number one priority as soon as you can leave the Crab Coast.
3. This is a semi open world game with a lot of hidden chests, this goes the same for quests and monsters. The more you explore, the less is the chance of end game grinding. I do recommend getting the DLC’s for this game as it adds more islands, which means more quests monsters, chests ect. I’ll show you some of the achievements related to this. I will also explain more about some of these achievements later on.
Pick 100 locks. Each lock has a minimum requirement that you will need in order to unlock it. You could spend some Glory early into Dexterity so you can acually open some of them. With enough exploring you should have this without having to go back. You can do the save/reload technique when you find an easy chest. You can also use potions so you dont miss out on too many chest.
Complete 300 Quests. There are way more than 300 quests in this game, you should get this a long time before the end of the game.
Raised your soul rating over 90. More exploring leads to more times to make honest and friendly choices during your playthrough
Killed 2000 Monsters. This will be your last achievement as it will require a bit of lategame grinding. The more you kill during your playthrough, the less grinding.
Also, dont touch this part of Taranis, there are some goblins there we’ll need for later.
4. Next what you want to do is during your quests and conversations you will be given different options to answer, just keep being friendly and caring ect. This will increase your soul rating. Keep increasing it until you have 91. That will give you the Angel Achievement. After you’ve gotten 91 Soul Rating, it’s time to turn into a complete asshat. It’s now time to reduce your soul rating down to 9 for the Demon Achievement. Just keep this in mind, I’ll explain more about that achievement later on. Up to 91, and then back to 9.
5. About the saving. The reason why you want to save is because of the save/reload technique we will use. But also incase a conversation isn’t going the way you want to. In example you’re getting minus in soul rating when you want to go plus. Also saving before ANY conversation will also ensure that you do not miss out on some achievements that we will go through later on. Just keep saving, even on multiple saves just to ensure nothing goes wrong.
Now if you’ve read all this way down here, thanks and well done. You should now have full knowledge of what to do before you start your adventure, in order to obtain all of the achievements. I’ll continue by explaining the different chapters as some achievements are chapter related.
Chapter ll
You’ve made it to chapter 2, and it’s now time to start focusing on some achievements that’s only available during chapter two, there are also a few critical achievements here that you will have to keep in mind if you’re not looking to go for a second playthrough, which we do not. Chapter two is probably the longest chapter in terms of keeping track on what to do, what not to miss and managing your saves. Now this might sound like a lot of things but I’ll try to keep it as simple as possible for your sake.
These are all the chapter 2 related achievements that are not necessary to do in order to progress in the main story. I will simply explain what to do in order to obtain these.
Complete the quest ‘A Follower of Magic’
The quest is given by Erasmus located on Taranis, you complete it by NOT turning Horas in to Sebastiano.
Complete the quest ‘Menacing Shadows
The quest is given by Severin on Tacarigua, you complete it by NOT killing Severin himself.
Complete the quest ‘Missing Gnome’
You get this one by completing the quest that is given by the Gnome Abbas, he is located in the mage camp on Taranis.
Complete the quest Cold Night
This quest is given by Ernesto on Calador Island. To obtain this achievement you have to frame Nikodim for the theft and then visit Mira at night. Please note that this will lower your Soul level so make a save before you complete the quest and then reload after you visited mira and gotten the achievement.
Completed the quest ‘Blue Flower’
This is done by simply picking up a blue flower. The flower is located on Kila Island on one of the plateaus. It’s right behind the building where Bahati is standing.
Complete the quest ‘Water Source Conflict’
This is done by completing the quest line that you recieve from Buddy, which is located on the beach of Kila Island.
Complete the quest ‘Booze’s Befuddled Mind’
This is completed by doing the quest line recieved from Booze, which also is standing on the beach of Kila Island.
For this you need to learn ‘Monkey Trainer’. This is done by Buddy on Kila Island. Buy this for 1000 gold, simply use the monkey 20 times.
During Chapter 2 you will start seeing the option to do minigames. The game has three of them. And there are also three achievement for this.
This is completed by winning a Knife-throwing game 10 times.
This is completed by winning a Drinking game 10 times.
This is completed by winning a Arm-wrestling game 10 times.
The trick to doing these is to use the save/reload trick. When you find someone that wants to do any of these games, simple make a save. Do the game and then reload to do the game again. Do this respectivly 10 times for each of the games. These can be done in earlier or later chapters as well but I do recommend finishing these as soon as you get the chance.
There is only one achievement related to your crew, and it’s a missable one
This is done by gettin at least seven crew members on your ship.
Bones: The first one to join you, will join on Crab Island automaticly
Horas: Dont turn him in to Sebastian during ‘A Follower of Magic’
Edward: Complete the quest ‘The Shadow Creatures in the Back Country’. Given by Edward on Antigua.
The following characters won’t join you until you start chapter 3. But the quests has to be done in the first place.
Jaffar: Complete the quest ‘An Unusual Cadet’ recieved on Taranis Island
Patty: Complete the quest ‘Find Patty’ on Kila Island
Saddec: Complete the quest ‘Booze’s Befuddled Mind’ on Kila Island
Mendoza: You can find him by picking up his soul shard that is located on the ghost ship on Taranis Island. Please note that if your soul rating goes above 80 he will leave you. Leave him for last or avoid talking to him until your soul rating is low enough.
We are finally comming to an end of the long chapter 2! The last thing to do is to choose a faction, sadly.. you cannot make your own choice, as one of the achievements in chapter three requires you to be on a specific faction. There are three factions and there are three related achievements to this. One achievement for each faction joined, simple eh? If only you could join all three of them. What you need to do is to make a save right before you complete the last quest to joining a faction. This way you can reload after you’ve gotten the achievement, in order to join the next. The save/reload strategy is done until you have the achievements for all three factions.
Get this by joining the Voodoo Pirates on Kila Island, quests are given by Hirutu and Tenya.
Get this by joining the Guardians on Taranis Island, quests are given by Magnus.
Get this by joining the Demon Hunters on Calador Island, quests are given by Edric.
When you’ve finally secured these last three achivements, you are good to go and ready to move onto chapter three! Do this by finally making the choice to join the Demon Hunter faction.
Chapter lll
Welcome to chapter 3! You have your ship, you are a part of the Demon Hunter faction, you are most likely over 25 achievements done and we’re slowly getting into the end. This section will cover the chapter three related quests, as well as some of the achievements I mentioned from chapter 1 that should be comming to an end.
Complete the quest ‘Zak’s Temptation’
The only reason we had to go for the Demon Hunter faction. Get the quest about the Evil Books from Drake and then head over to Antigua, there you want to speak with Zak.
Complete the quest ‘Green Flames’
The quest is given by Drake on Calador Island, it is completed by gathering the timber and light up the tower to the east.
At this point, there are a few achievements that I mentioned in chapter one that should be done by now or atleast be very close to completing, I’ll simply go through them below as we’ve already covered them earlier.
– You should be really close if not already complete with this achievement, start working towards that 9 Soul rating, it might seem like a long way, and it is. So keep being a piece of garbage in conversations. Also we will be able to lower it a bit more later on.
– You should be on your way, maybe half way? Honestly this dosent matter, since you will have to grind it out anyways. For reference, I had 1,400 Monsters slain when I completed the game, and as I said, I explored probably 95% of the Islands. Dont worry about this one, we’ll go through it later.
– By this time you should have a huge amount of things in your inventory, now thats good. Keep saving them and we’ll go through this later.
– If you’ve completed Chapter 3, you should have about 85 in this. Chances might be that yours is lower, and it might be very low if you didn’t explore enough (Shame on you). Simply find a chest that you can open. Save before lockpicking and then reload and reopen. Keep doing until 85-90 or until the achievement pops.
– At this point you should definitly have gathered atleast 160,000 Glory and by that accomplished all of the achievements related to attribute points. If not, just keep farming.
Chapter IV
Welcome to the last chapter of Risen 3! There are only a few more achievements to conqueror before finally earning that last one. I will go through the missable achievement for Chapter 4 as well as how to get these last ones to finish of your Risen 3 playthrough!
There is only one missable achievement on chapter 4 and it is Liberator
This is achieved by completing the quest ‘Minions’ Weapon Store’. The quest is given by Kane on Skull Island
Before we’re doing any of these you want to make sure you save a few times. Since a messup here without having enough saves to go back to could sting quite a lot. Note that these can be done either after or before the last fight. Since the game will end right after the fight it is important to have something to go back to.
This is acually really easy to complete, it’s only a bit time consuming depending on how many monsters you have left to kill. What you want to do is to head over to the location in the picture below.
Here you will find about 8 goblins and 3 Scavangers a bit further up the cliff. Gather them all, make a save. And then use Rain of Fire in order to quickly kill them all. Reload the save and then do it all over. Depending on how many creatures you have killed, this will most likely take about 30-90 min.
Simply make a save, or two. Sell your whole inventory. Reload the save. And do the same thing until both achievements pops. I had to sell mine two times to get them both.
There are two ways to acquire this achievement.
1. Focus on getting to 91 and then back to 9 ASAP.
2. Make a new playthrough and focus on this rather than the Angel one.
I will cover both of these ways.
1. If you read my Chapter 1 you should know that you should focus on being nice to people until you reach a certain soul rating, and then you would want to be mean to people so that you can reduce your rating below 10. Now with enough exploring and quests done this is not a problem, but chances are you might need a little extra just to get below 10. Luckly this is something we can do. During your travels you should have faced quite a lot of Shadow Lords. These drop a black heart. This heart combined with bones from those harmless little monkeys can turn into a free -2 in your soul rating. Give the heart and the bones of these monkeys to Hirutu in the Voodoo camp on Kila Island. These monkeys can be found all over Kila Island, but there will be a lot of them right outside the camp. If you havent visited Isle of Theives (DLC) you should do that and kill the shamans as that will give quite a good reducement in your soul rating.
2. The second option involves you starting a new playthrough. This should only be done if you’ve gone to much back and forth during your conversations. or if you missed my Chapter 1 about being nice to people, or if you did to little exploring overall ect. Starting a new playthrough will not be our goal but it’s also not the end of the world. On your new playthrough you should be able to achieve a soul rating of 9 in about 2-3 hours. Just remember to be hostile in your conversations this time. Other ways of reducing your soul rating is:
- Be hostile in conversations.
- Sleep on different Islands.
- Visit Island of Theives and kill the shamans.
- Frame Nikodim for the theft on Calador Island.
- Hand over Horas to Sebastiano and kill both deserters, this is done on Tacarigua.
With the conclusion of this chapter I would like to thank you for have read and followed my guide and I hope that my first ever guide was something that helped you on your journey to achieve 100% on all the achievements on Risen 3. If this is something you have enjoyed and if this helped you in any way. Please dont hesitate to leave a comment or any feedback so that I know if this was appreciated and if this is something I should keep doing in the future. With that being said, thank you and good luck in your future hunting days!
