The basics of ROE for Ring of Elysium

The basics of ROE

Overview

Welcome to Ring of Elysium! This guide is designed to help YOU be a winner for your next game! (Wins not guaranteed)This guide is going to go over the basics.. All of them, from how to open a door to how to use a medkit!

Key bindings.

This is the only binding that needs changing, everything else can be just personal preference. Unbinding this means you can’t accidentally put away your weapon in a firefight.

Things needed to know for all packs.

In ROE there are three classes or “Packs.” They are

  • Glider
  • Ski
  • Climbing

If you are looking for anything under any of these three, please go to the respective section.

First off, you need to know how to move: WASD as normal as well as space to jump. Right click once to go into FP iron sights or hold to get to TP sights.

How to open / close doors:

Next: Grenades. Follow along with the video if you like!

And finally, medkits:

Please note how all 3 packs have 5 bandages each, allowing for 50% health regeneration. The map also allows you to choose a spot not already allocated by a blue square, showing how you choose where to land.
The map also shows the inventory size in arbitrary figures, take note of this.

The Glider pack.

Press F to pay respects open your glider while in mid air.

I personally rebound mine to X, but it’s up to you.

Please take note how this has the LEAST amount of backpack space and the arguably weakest starting weapon.

I would highly recommend picking up an SMG because, as I mentioned in the video, you can shoot it while gliding.

Please note how you are a sitting duck while gliding as you can get shot easily if you are seen, as well as the glider being incredibly noticeable .

The Ski pack

The ski pack gives a nice middle ground between the glider pack and the climbing pack.
This has a medium sized backpack and a stronger version of the glider starting weapon. Note how this uses .45 ammo rather than 9 mil ammo.

The Climbing pack

In my opinion the climbing pack is the best pack because of it’s large backpack size.
The shotgun can be incredibly useful in urban areas but can also be a death sentence in wide open spaces, take note of this when choosing your spawning spot.

The climbing pack has two functions, to climb specific areas, and to use ziplines.

The climbing function can be seen here:

The zipline function has multiple different things however, first off, dismounting:

You can also switch direction, as seen here:
[link]

You can also fire pistols and SMGs while ziplining, much like gliding.

Please note how you are a sitting duck while ziplining as you can get shot easily if you are seen.

The Helicopter

Below is a picture of the helicopter, when it comes to land it will drop a ladder, which you have to climb to get in the helicopter and win.
Once you enter the helicopter, you can leave the game. You can also spectate around the helicopter while in it.

Air drops + video of a game win

Air drops may occasionally spawn in, you will be notified on your HUD when this happens, you can see an air drop once it lands by orange gas being given off. While the airdrop is in the air, you will see a balloon dropping down to deliver the airdrop, before leaving.

Below is a video of me using an airdrop to get a game win, please note how once the helicopter comes you have limited time to get in it before your position gets revealed, along with everyone elses position, you are also extremely vulnerable while climbing the ladder, so scope out the area before doing so.
