The Beginner’s Guide to Eldevin

Overview

A guide to the world of Eldevin for players new to the game. Included is tips to make money, ways to get gear/weapons, using transportation to get around, a small tour of Othalo and Eldevin City, and other useful information like the Adera forest shortcut.More information will be included to guide later (for Useful Information) section but this is the basics you should know. 🙂

Currency

Eldevin has different forms of currency. This is an explanation for most of them. In the ‘Money Making’ section – will show you how to view these currency.

– Bronze / Silver / Gold coins:

100 Bronze = 1 Silver.

100 Silver = 1 Gold.

You can earn money from completing quests, selling stuff to players/NPC’s or selling EP for gold.

– Eldevin Points

Is currency bought with real money. You can also swap gold for EP with other players.

It is not recommended to buy gold from the shop as you get better value swapping EP for gold. To use EP, you spend it in the shop – for numerous things like backpacks or sacks and so on.

– Prestige Points

You can use these to buy exclusive vanity at the Prestige Rewards vendor in Rival’s Lounge or in the Eldevin Market.

You can get these from certain quests like “Perfecting a Profession”, Wilderness Dailies Quests or festive crackers for example.

– Artisian Points

Obtained from doing daily Profession quests. You need to complete the Gathering/Crafting quests in order to get these kind of quests.

You can use artisian points to buy Lesser Elemental Flakes, Elemental Flakes and Greater Elemental Flakes via the Artisian Reward vendor in the Rival’s Lounge.

– Loyalty Points

Obtained from logging in daily and/or purchasing EP with real money.

It can be used to buy items in the shop in the loyalty points tab. You can buy a vanity set, a pet, some resources and a few other things.

– Valor Points

Is earned from participating in PVP battles. They are used to buy exclusive vanity for valor points via the Valor Reward vendor.

– Relics

Is earned while completing dungeons.

You can spend the relics in the Champion’s Hall or Order of Life HQ for dungeon gear and remnants.

It can also be used to purchase fusion power from a Gem Supplies vendor.

Money Making

To make money in the world of Eldevin, there is many ways but there a few things you should know first.

If you are not a subscriber, then there is a limit to how much money you can earn. To find out the limit then open your Character interface (or “C” on keyboard).

Then open the Currency tab (coins icon).

This can also show you the other currency that you obtain like Relics and Artisian Points.

It is 50 gold per level per character. You can also store gold in the Vault to transfer between alts but it depends on your account level.

Another thing you should know is – while you can buy gold in the shop, it is not WORTH it. People rather sell EP for gold to other players as you make more gold this way.

The ratio is usually 1 EP for 3 gold. Sometimes you might find people buying/selling 1 EP for 2.5 gold.

Money Making
  • Quests is one way to make money as every reward gives coins. This is recommended for low level players starting off in the game.
  • Story mode + group dungeons is a good way to make money as well – from obtaining loot and selling/vendoring it to NPC’s. Dungeons are every 5 levels and higher level dungeons make more money.
  • You can also grind mobs for exp – and sell the loot to other players or vendor to NPC’s. It depends on class though. Tanks/Prophets don’t do as good in solo (however I find for prophets – that story mode dungeons are tolerable as long you’re careful).
  • Selling raw materials from Gathering professions can be one way to make money – however don’t collect too much. You may not find a buyer straight away.
  • An alternative method is to offer a ‘service’ – and if you don’t have alot of time on your hand – be sure to let people know that there is a limit in how much you can gather.
  • You can also sell mats for Crafting profession but it depends.

Skills like Farming/Prospecting/Forestry (where converting raw mats to mats gives gathering exp) – people may want to buy raw mats so they can train Gathering meanwhile.

These are good ways to make money. Not all methods are listed but this is the general idea.

Classes and Talent Tree

When you arrived to Othalo, the portal that dropped you to the ground is from a place known as the Void. As a result of your prolonged exposure, you came to Othalo with some memory loss.

The bad news is the Kingdom does not remember who you were before. The good news is that you can choose to which class you’d like to be:

Whether it’s Templar (Tank), Warriors, Assassins, Rangers, Mages or Prophets (Healers) – or even a combination.

Every time you level up, you will recieve attribute points and talent points. However you won’t recieve any talent points until you’re level 5.

You will be notified if you have attributes and/or talent points to spend.

Attribute points is used to increase your character’s stats. If you hover over each icon, it will explain what each stat does.

Talent points is used to increase a number of things such as:

Haste | Spells/Abilities | Damage | Power and so on.

You can also unlock abilities through the Talent Tree.

It is categorized by class – so choose wisley as to where to put your talent points. If you’re unsure of a build, feel free to ask in-game or ‘Game Help’ in the Official Eldevin forums.

You can also use the talent theory planner[talenttheory.com] to help plan your build.

—-

To level up, you can either grind mobs your level, do quests, and training professions etc. If you’re unsure where to kill mobs, feel free to ask in the World Chat. 🙂

Gear and Weapons

Once you completed the Arcane Council and Eldevin Army trail quests (which is part of the short tutorial in Othalo), you are given padded armour as a reward.

Quests are one way to obtain gear/weapons as a reward. The two main storylines – “Arcane Council and Eldevin Army” quests usually will give gear/weapons suitable for it’s respective classes. You have to sometimes choose between rewards – which is kind of the downside.

However there are more ways to obtain gear and weapons.

Dungeons:

Some of the best gear/weapons will come from dungeons.

Dungeons are every 5 levels except at level 30. The Othalo Guardhouse is one example. Another is the Boondocks at level 10.

You can obtain gear through loot, or through relics earned while completing dungeons. The one exception is the helmet. Those are craftable only – and requires some resources in order to make it. You can also gain weapons this way too as loot.

To spend relics (which allows you to buy dungeon gear and remnants) – you go to the Champion’s Hall or Order of Life HQ in Eldevin City. I included the locations in the “Welcome to Eldevin City” section.

Another exception is the level 30 gear – which is completley craftable as there is no level 30 dungeon. Same with level 30 weapons.

Crafting Professions:

You can make gear through Armoursmith (Heavy armour), Leatherwork (Medium armour) and Tailoring (Light Armour).

Armoursmith is useful for mostly tanks/warriors. Leatherwork is generally useful for Assassians/Rangers and Tailoring is useful for Mages/Prophets.

You can also craft weapons through Weaponsmithing – and there are instances where weapons made through Weaponsmith is better then ones found in the dungeons (or it may also depend on your level). Same with gear.

There is also the Jewelry profession, where you can craft Jewelry and it offers boosts to your stats.

Monster Drops:

If you see a green loot bag on the ground, it could contain gear or weapons. It can be found in dungeons to killing mobs in the world of Eldevin.

These are useful if the gear is better then what you’re wearing. If not, sell to a NPC for money. But higher leveled gear/weapons people might buy in World Chat – so be sure to inquire before vendoring it off.

——————-

Sockets in Gear + Weapons:

You will notice that some gear/weapons have empty sockets.

Well sometimes while adventuring in Eldevin, you will come across gems. Each gem has a different bonus and certain gems can only be fused into weapons, others can only be fused into gear – some can be any.

Agate – spell critical strike

Almandine – steal health on hit

Amber – melee attack power

Garnet – melee critical strike

Onyx – melee defence

Aquamarine – mana regen rating.

Diamond – Ranged defence.

Emerald – ranged attack power

Tanzanite – ranged critical rating

Howlite – accuracy

Opal – spell defence

Peridot – block rating

Ruby – weapon damage

Tourmaline – health regen rating

Zirconia – movement speed

There is also different tiers of gems:

Cracked
Jagged
Flawed
Glimmering
Defined
Absolute
Supreme
Radiant
Pure
Flawless
Perfect

The highest tier that is dropped is Absolute. From there on then, you need to fuse gems together to get Supreme and repeat till the Perfect stage is reached. However it requires alot of fusion power/gold and not as easy as it may seem.

Click on link below if you want to find out more information.

Gems – Eldevin Wiki[eldevin.wikia.com]

You can fuse gems together to create stronger gems. To do so you visit the Eldevin City Gems shop in Eldevin City and in order to fuse gems, you need fusion power and arcane shards.

Check out link below to get a ton more info including how many fusion power/gems you need to fuse to make a certain tier.

There is also a video on this if it may help you:

Random Sockets:

In crafting, there are some heroics that can be crafted with a random socket included. You may also find this in some item drops.

A random socket means it can either be more stats, or effects like stun, snare and AOE. If you’re lucky – you might also get a gem socket.

Transportation

The world of Eldevin is quite big! Luckily there is a few transportation methods to get around.

Mounts:

If you visit Riding Trainer Kilby in Eldevin City Square – you can unlock the Riding Levels for the price of gold.

There is 3 Riding levels.

Level 1 Riding – costs 5 gold. Allows you to move 20% faster while on a mount.

Level 2 Riding – costs 250 gold. Allows you to move 40% faster while on a mount.

Level 3 Riding – costs 1,000 gold. Allows you to move 60% faster while on a mount.

You can also purchase mounts from him, if you right click and select “Shop”. The cheapest one is the Arcane Disc for one gold.

You can also get mounts as a boss drop – like in the Boondocks – the final boss will have a chance to drop the Azraq Carpet.

It can also be purchased from packs – such as Elemental Trove packs – which may contain horses as a mount or mounts from holiday presents (costs EP) like spooky (Halloween) and festive (Christmas).

You can also obtain mounts for free from holiday events – by earning spooky treats (Halloween) or candy canes (Christmas) and purchase a mount.

Nightmare – a free mount you can buy by earning spooky treats during the Halloween event.

More information about mounts can be found at the Eldevin Wiki:

Homestone:

If you complete the “Eldevin Walking Tour” quest, you will be given a Homestone which allows you to teleport to the central garden in Eldevin City near the fountain. There is however a time restriction before you can use it again.

You can also change the Homestone’s location to another city as well. The icon shown in the picture (beside the fountian) is the marker of a homestone’s teleport location.

—————

Dragon Handler:

The Dragon Handler is another way to travel between cities. The downside is that you must unlock the flight path in that city before you can travel there via the dragon.

There are many locations to use the Dragon Handler and Eldevin City is one of them. Check out the “Welcome to Eldevin City” section for the location.

——————

Other Methods:

The Instant Dragon (found under Cooldowns) is one way to teleport to a city from anywhere. You don’t have to visit the Dragon Handler however it costs 25 EP.

There is also the ability “Instant Dragon” which costs 250 EP (one-time purchase) and allows you to teleport to a city of your choice once per day.

Group Summon is an ability that you can buy for 10 Gold (in the shop and allows you to summon a person in your group. Or you can also be summoned by someone else too.

You can buy Othalo Teleport Scrolls from the Othalo Market for coins.

1.) Eldevin Bank

The access to the stash is unlocked after completing the Banking and Stashing quest given by Murphy at the Eldevin City bank. However you can still use the vault as a temporary means of banking until you need more room!

Be sure to forage some of the weed that are always appearing on the streets, everytime you come to the bank, for some foraging exp. It’ll help a bit in getting your foraging level up.

Not a very well known place to those new to Eldevin City.

Behind the Eldevin City Bank, it is a place where you can buy elemental flakes mainly used in crafting professions and you can also purchase rewards with your Valor or Prestige points. On your way out, be mindful of that stuffed Jaguar!

Dragon Handlers are found in most major cities as well.

7.) Eldevin Palace

Yes the same palace where Prince Ryan and his father, the King, lives. You will indeed get to see a part of the castle in an epic storyline so keep on questing if you haven’t made it that far yet!

Group Dungeons vs. Story Mode

Group Dungeons is different from Story Mode – as group dungeons requires 5 people usually. The typical group consists of a tank, a prophet, and 3 DPS.

Group dungeons have more loot as drops (remnants are only dropped as loot in group dungeons).

Story Mode dungeons allow you to complete quests (and is a nerfed version). You can run it over and over if you’d like and earn relics/loot and sell for money. However it may not be as fast to complete then a group dungeon.

Greed and Need:

Perhaps a very important rule to remember while doing group dungeons. Always GREED on loot. Never NEED unless you really need it to upgrade your weapon/gear – and it’s best to ask the group or tell the group before beginning the dungeon.

It’s considered rude to need on everything especially remnants/flakes. Greed is a more fairer way to share loot with others. So be careful, you may be barred from future groups if players know you always NEED.

———-

Resurrection Quests:

There are many resurrection quests found throughout Eldevin. You will always find one when there is a NPC standing next to this green shrine.

The reward for completing these quests is so that when you die, you will respawn here and you won’t receive the Death Door’s debuff – which reduces the exp you will get for approximately 15 minutes.

If you die without completing the quest, you get the Death Door’s penalty and you can pay coins to remove it in the shop under ‘cooldowns’.

———–

Trapper’s Atoll:

Trapper’s Atoll is a level 15+ open PVP island. There you can gather smuggled resources (that stacks up to 999) but be warned – it is open PVP. No player is “safe”. If you get pked – you will keep 50% of the smuggled resources.

There is also a boss known as the Plasma Lord. You will receive a message when it spawns.

More info about Plasma Lord can be found here:

Adera Forest Shortcut:

If you want to access Eldevin City without having to complete the “Civil Unrest” quest, there are a few alternate routes, this one, being the most easiest in my opinion as long as you stick to the path.

South of the Forestry Trainer in Othalo, there is a shortcut that you can take, which leads you into the Forest of Adera. From there, you can access the gate of Eldevin City. It is shown on the Othalo map in the “Welcome to Othalo” section.
