This Guide shall be your manual to the wild, wild wilderness of the Forest!
Introduction
Hello, my name is Remi, I am your tour guide to this guide of all guides.
Today, you crashlanded on an island full of beautiful sunsets, lizards, and CRAZY MUTANT CANNIBALS OH MY GOD- *Clears throat* Let me contain myself here.
I shall bring you through the basics of the Forest, and how your first 30 minutes should go.
Remi begins with your first five minutes.
Okay, bud. Your kid was just stolen by some pedo-mutant, but you got worse problems. First thing to do, Grab everything in the plane. EVERYTHING. Behind you will be some food, and “Booze.” AKA Alcohol. Do Not Touch The Booze. You need a clear head for your journey. But still pack it, as it is used for Molotov’s. I said it, Molotov’s!
So now what you gotta do, is grab the plane axe out of that one flight attendant you were hitting on during the plane ride. You know what I’m talking about, right? Back to business.
HUGE TIP – Many people think you press E on the Plane Axe. No, you walk over it.
Next, go outside and get as much sticks as you can, along with rocks. Leaves are useful too, as you can have as many as you want. I once checked my inv, and saw about 500 leaves in my inventory. Please don’t cut down trees yet, as you don’t need them until the next section. Now then. What you must do next is pull out your fancy shmancy survival book, brought with you from the plane. Inside you will find another guide to survival which is worse than mine. Go to the main index, and find the storage tab. Build yourself a Log Rack, or whatever it’s called, and continuously press E on it with all the sticks you have. You can only hold eight, and I believe the rack needs 14-16. So get some more sticks afterwards. You can find stick off of thin saplings, the ground, or baby-trees. Baby trees are slightly thicker than saplings, and must be cut more times. Next section please!
Section 2 – Being a lumberjack and Combat
During the course of your game, you will need to cut down trees. Many trees are around you, because its a forest. Stupid. What you must do first is cut down your first large tree. Many trees take a couple cuts, and then they fall down slow, which will be fixed later on. Once they are completely tumbled to the ground, a notification noise will sound, and 4-6 logs will appear in the line of the tree. You can pick up 2 logs, and store 5 in the rack. Around this point, you should either start building your hunter’s shelter, or you will be confronted by a cannibal patrol.
This segment is for combating the patrol that has found you. You don’t stand a chance, very obvious. I mean, you have a axe off a plane. So, crouch down (CTRL) or just keep your distance.
If you haven’t been attacked yet, Just build your shelter.
