Jurassic World Evolution Guide

The Complete Guide for Jurassic World Evolution

The Complete Guide

Overview

Handy tips for surviving the progression of each land and strategies on ahievements

Introduction

If you are here to learn about different aspects of the game, just read through, If you have a handle already, jump to New Islands and Achievements section

Placement

Welcome, the game is quite easy to grasp once you learn placements of everything, try experimenting and using the map filter to tell which buildings must go where.
Each area you view dinosaurs or have guests housed is important, they have multiple filters you need to fullfill in order to get your reputation high. If guests are hungry they will dislike the park as they can’t get to food easily, if guests feel weary walking around from place to place they might need a monorail.

Capacity
Be sure to place hotels near major attractions like big rating dinosaurs enclosures, this will mean you can fill the park with less and less buildings to focus on maximising space for profit.

Travel
Place Monorail tracks skimming the outside of the map, you can add stations as you expand your park, this will make it so guests have walkable distance from each part of the map. Careful though, these stations take up a little bit of space and prevent a lot of pathing of footpaths and pylons.

Hunger/Thirst
Spread your food stalls out a little, this will mean that if right next to a big star attraction you wll get the maximum guests. The bar is not the most loved attraction unfortunately, that title goes to takeaway, then guests will pick restaurant.

Gifts
Having toy/clothing stalls and fossil finder attractions spaced throughout will keep them spending majorly, if you have fossil finders or clothing near a big star you will find you will not be able to meet demand to, great for boosting your funds to maximum.

Fun
If you are struggling to keep both fun and guests purchasing up the best two options are fossil then toys. The fossil is by far the most loved attraction to all patrons. Next appears to be bowling, then arcade.

Safety
Place your bunkers covering every path you can, these take up minmal space, try to sneak them inside nooks and crannies between enclosure viewing platforms.
At the momment storm defense towers seemed bugged, but when fixed they act the same way.

Viewable Dinosaurs
Most importantly if your dinosaur exibit hass blind spots from seeing the dinos, sales will plumet. Make sure you use both Viewing Platform and Viewing Stations to keep those guests seeing all your dinos. They wont buy anything if they don’t see a dinosaur. Be sure to have the viewing stations near stores and hotels, otherwise they will see it as travel.

Electricity
Use pylons mainly to travel this around, substations will power anything in the space of radius placed. This will include an electric fence, if it is touching any point of an electric fence it will travel through the entire fence. Do not place substations all surrounding the enclosure, this will drain your power. Place all Power Stations nearby for quick access, this may be risky but the biggger risk is longer times for your rangers to repair it. Try to squeeze substations in spots stores wont fit for maximum space of park.

Ranger/ACU
This is crucial, if you place one area in your park with these the travel times will be killer later, try to keep the ranger station within reach of both enclosures and power stations, multiple rangers might need to be used, ACU’s try to keep near every enclosure, last thing you need is a 3 minute response time to an escaped dino.

Main Buildings
Exibition/Fossil and Research centre are needed on all islands, this will help you greatly as when upgraded the upgrades stack per island, and means you can increase times or space avaialable. Try to place these with the power grids, out of the way of the enclosure and store spaces.
Once you have researched, exibitied all areas from each park, feel free to tear down for extra park space.

Enclosures
As stated already in Capacity, try to keep them near every need of a guest. Every enclosure will need food for the dinos, and to meat and water. It will also need to hit the level of satisfaction of forest/grasslands for each dinosaur. If you arent able to meet either, your enclosure is too small and it will end up with your dinosaur straight up escaping. Every enclosure will need a gate to, for your jeeps to fill up the feeders.

Dinosaur Rating

This will be quite brief as there isn’t much to explain.
The higher your dinosaurs ratings the more guests will go to the enclosure, the more they buy from stores nearby.
The higher infamy your dinosaur is the greater the rating will be, for example Trex/Spino’s etc will be up in the big numbers compared to Gallimimus’s and Apach’s.
Now to increase the base number you must keep escavating and finding extracting those fossils. This will get the numbers much higher when 100% genome is hit. And once the genome is at 100% incubation will be easier achieved.
Messing with your dinosaurs DNA will make them more expensive, but make them higher in the ratings (personally I boost the age up as much as possible and the rating goes with it). When you do this the chance of successful incubation drops dramatically. This is okay, just chuck the success rate upgrades on your building. This will increase her chance of being born and is an upgrade that remains on the building till you change it.
Now heres the cruel part. The more times your dinosaur fights or wins, the more its rating goes up. A large carnivore fighting and winning against a large carnivore can fetch 50 more rating, fighting a medium herbivore 30. Keep putting in ankly like dinos into a Trex enclosure and you can boost his rating into the 1000’s and guests will buy out every shop.

Dinosaurs Statistics

This section is for the different statistics on how the dinosaurs and how they have different needs.
If a dino feels uncomfortable it will panic the other dinos as well, they may also break out of the enclosure and attack guests

Social Needs
Every dinosaur has different needs in the amount of dinosaurs that speak the same language, they must all be the same not the same sub species.
The amount of dinos social needs means they need the specific amounts of others per enclosure. This will mean that say the number is 0 they are fine by themselves, but if they need 1+ they will become aggitated without another one being there at the same time. Try to fit this in with the amount of total dinosaurs they allow in each enclosure.

Enclosure
Each dino needs different enclosure space and grasslands/forestry. They need a base amount of space to feel comfortable.
They also need different levels of grass and trees. If you have too much of one or the other space, the dino will feel uncomfortable in that regard to.
The spacing listed is based on 100m²:
S = <100
M = 100-200
L = 201-300
XL = 301-400
XXL = >400

Feeders
The different feeders are needed for different dinos but they all act differently. All carnivores like both feeder types, the goats get them to hunt though so may keep dinosaurs that might get bored happy. Herbivores feeders are made for one or the other dinos types. The tall feeders are needed for the taller dinosaurs but run out of supply faster. The smaller and medium dinosaurs need ground feeders.

Water
Each dino needs access to water, don’t forget to place some in the enclosure.

Dinosaurs Genome

The genome of a dinosaur increases as you extract fossils each increment of rarity of the fossils takes longer but increases the amount, once you extract the fossil to 100% the success rate and base rating goes up.
This can increase the amount you can alter the dinosaur to which will increase its stats as well as increase rating.

Different dinosaurs are altered in different ways and genomes, some may only have four options and some may have more.

Every alteration lowers the chance the birth of the dinosaurs you are making.

The four genome types are :

Resilience
This can alter the dinosaurs rating and how well a dino resists disease dramatically. Late game can also increase lifespan dramatically

[Robust Digestion / Intuitive Learning / Intensive Repair / Immune Response / Hyper Efficient Blood / Increased Bone Density / Rapid Metabolism]

Attack
Obviously this can increase attack mainly, and a fair bit on rating. Late game also lifespan increase to.

[Tooth Hardness / Reaction Speed / Intuitive Learning / Aggressive Instincts / Hyper Efficient Blood / Strong Muscle Fibers / Increased Bone Density]

Defense
Main focus of this is defense and also lifespan as well. Not much of a ratings booster.

[Skin Toughness / Aggressive Instincts / Intensive Repair / Brain Aging / Strong Muscle Fibers / Increased Bone Density / Rapid Metabolism]

Lifespan
Mostly this increases lifespan and can increase attack a little as well.

[Cardio Strength / Reaction Speed / Brain Aging / Immune Response / Hyper Efficient Blood / Strong Muscle Fibers / Rapid Metabolism]

Buildings

There are multiple buildings in this for multiple purposes, as listed above in placement. I wont go into detail about the types of buildings, just the basics on how they function.

Enclosures

Walls
You place these to keep your dinos away from guests, they can be placed fresh, or use the replacement tool to upgrade as you progress.
The following must be placed on walls

Hammond Centre
Birth your dinos from here

Gate
Enter rangers Jeeps through these or let dinos out, to access feeders jeeps need this.

Viewing Station/Platform/Gyrosphere
Guests need to see your dinosaurs, allow them with these buildings.

Feeders
Different dinosaurs need different feeders based on needs, place enough per dino per enclosure.
(Be aware, goats may prevent buildings if they escape)

Main Buildings

Ranger Station
Used to summon Jeeps to repair structures medicate/heal dinos, take pictures or fill feeders.

ACU
Used to tranq dinosaurs, bigger dinos need more shots.
Once a dino is tranq’ed you can then proceed to move it to a new area or sell it with the key listed at the bottom of your screen (PC default is ‘R’)
Currently a tranq’ed dino will never wake up unless you move it but it needs will continue to decline, they can die this way.

Power Station
Used to supply power.

Pylons/Substations
Used to channel power throughout island.

Research Centre
Needed to Research.

Expedition Centre
Used to send off expeditions.

Fossil Extraction Centre
Used to extract fossils for genomes, or sell non DNA fossils.

Storm Defence Station
Used to keep buildings safe during storms.

Hotels
Used to increase capacity.

Emergency Shelters
Used to keep guests safe.

Food stores
Subdue hunger/thirst.

Arcade/Fossil Finders/Gift shop/Toy Store/Bowling
Used for entertainment.

Clothing/Toy Store/Gift Shop/Fossil Finders
Used for shopping.

Monorail
Used for traveling distanced through park.

Buildings Upgrades

Almost each building for operations will have upgrades, you unlock more options as you progress.
To apply an upgrade select the up arrow tab on the building, then select the slots, you can change them at any time.

Fossil Centre
Fossils can be found via expeditions and the upgrade options are extraction times, or capacity. Extraction times barely helps i have found, and overall you want the increased capacity as the new islands method is long and painful with low space. This goes over all islands with one.

Expedition Centre
This is either travel time or dig yield. Dig yield will increase the ammount found on trips, where as time decreased shouldn’t be a problem honestly, each expedition takes maybe 3 minutes max, decreasing doesn’t make it much faster, whereas all buildings max yield will give up to 8 fossils per trip. This goes over all islands with one.

Research centre
The options are research cost, and research time. Cost shouldn’t be an issue as income in game isn’t hard to aquire, you can’t get time back. This goes over all islands with one.

ACU
Possibly the most important two upgrades are this and ranger. Accuracy/Reload and tasks. Honestly if you are fine controlling the helicopter when shooting in emergencies boost the task slots as it will help you deal with tranq’ing multiple targets when transporting. This will help you focus on development of your island more.

Ranger Station
Same as above, only this time will help you deal with emergencies much better, for either repairing structure or vacinating the sick dinos, don’t trust the accuracy of the ai? just wait for him to drive there and shoot for yourself.

Power Station
The 3 different sizes of this building increase power output and slots for upgrades.
There are 3 available upgrades here, Output/Reliability/Upkeep. Your park shouldn’t have to worry about the minor upkeep of the power stations, stores will bring much more income than needed, so you have 2 main options. Output/Reliability.
If you are boosting max output of the station with some of the slots, I’ve found that having one reliability per 2 outputs helps keep the station stable.

Hammond Incubation Centre
There are 3 upgrades here and they all have their uses but the main one to focus is success chance, that will help you immensely.
If you are feeling lazy and just want dinos quick, try the expand slot. (great for getting the all dinos made achievement)
If you want a dino quick, try the speed boost.

New Island?

Keep in mind that every area you go to, you share the same research progression, building unlocks and inventory.
So when you progress each land the first thing you need to build is the fossil extraction building. This is your crucial first step. Power it and path it so you can then click into it and access your fossil collection. Now go back to the first island which by now should have progressed fairly steadily and have surplus of money available.
Just stay on this island for a while, whilst you do this step (otherwise back and forth loading is ridiculous). Fill up your fossils on all those juicy expeditions, save all of the ones you dont desperatelty want to process. (Try to leave enough to 100% genome them)
Back to the island you built that fossil factory in, now sell them all, build an expedition center when you have enough. Copy and go back to the original island, process any new fossils but keep the excess stuff.
Next the research factory. Repeat. Only start researching with those first island funds.
Congrats, you are now boosted in the new level of your choice. This also works if you somehow run out of funds through later levels.
Enjoy

Side Note:
Be sure to save in multiple files often, if you stuff up you can’t reset the island and get the money from fossils. This will make it so the escavation sites are empty and you can’t get the curreny over again

Be sure to get all unlocks available from all divisions per island, some science and security unlocks are much needed for later levels

Achievements

Here’s where the fun begins, most achievements can be gathered in the wonderful sandbox mode of Isla Nubar.
This is where you just need to think about what your doing and how to acomplish it. Vehicle achievements are all easiest here if you havent gotten them yet.

Isla Nublar Accomplishable:

Shoot Her! – If you are really having trouble shooting a dino with the helicopter, try the brachio. She will take a few hits but is the largest slowest dino there is.

Tenacious – Go into your escape menu and change the disease setting to the highest. This will almost garuntee a dino gets diseased. Yet again brachio, easiest.

I think we’re back in business – Change the storm setting to frequent, then drive your car up to it and click…..simple

It’s all about control – Give someone a command (should get in normal)

Get a clear shot – I recommend a dino like T-Rex, as head is the largest, just aim as well as you can (Don’t know if accuracy upgrades in building helps)

War is part of nature – Get two dinos who dont get along (example – Spino and Trex) in an enclosure. Tranq one.

Nobody move a muscle – While the dinos are moving, manually tranq. Miss the first shot if you can, startles them, then fire and hit from then on.

Shoooooot heeeeer! – Hove back as far as you can and try and hit one (I’d recommend brachio again, but i manage a raptor when panicing during story)

I thought you failed drivers – Just keep driving, maybe try to get driving acheivements while doing so.

Must go faster – Make a flat surface with no trees, and just drive straight (if you havent gotten earlier)

Accept You are never in control – Turn weather effects rain on and drift, adds more slip to your turns.

Hold onto your butts – Make some bumpy terrain and get a run up to it, careful with how much speed, if the vehicle slips too far onto roof you auto cam away.

Now you’re John Hammond – Just release as many dinos on her as you can ( go for the other genetic achievements if you want, like Creation is act) struth is pretty fast.

Mommy’s very angry – make a dino like Rex/Spino/Indom with boosted attack to 150+ (chucking on success rate 3 times 3 will help)

Clever girl – release Velociraptor

Follow the screams! – release Trex

Favourite when i was a kid – release Triceratops

Beautiful, but deadly ambition – release Dilophosaurus

Super-predator – release Spinosaurus

Is this even possible – release Stegasaurus

Flocking this way – release Gallimimus

Veggiesaurus – release Brachiosaurus

That’s no dinosaur – release Indominus Rex

Nothing in Jurrasic world is natural – Modify a dino (if you didn’t get this one in campaign i applaud your stubborness)

You think that kind of automation is easy? – Upgrade a building, go to its other pages and chuck in some upgrades (again, should’ve got this one before)

This is very dangerous Territory – Spino fighting Trex, hop into your ranger jeep and photo it

Learning where she fits – Indom fighting Trex, do same as above

Whatever you study – Take a photo worth 30k, best way to get this and the next is to put 2 indoms down in a small enclosure with a trex.

A kind of biological preserve – Photo worth 100k

Look how it eats – (Small enclosure again) Photo a trex eating a galimimus

Smarter than primates – Velociraptors seem to get distracted easily, dont put down goats for food for this one, they wont stop hunting. Put down 4 raptors in an enclosure. They all meet up within a few minutes. Photograph the conference.

Where’s the goat – Do use goats for this, photo the trex eating one.

Who’s hungry? (and) I hate being right all the time – Starve some poor dino of each type herbivore and carnivore (i used spino and apach) and then release them from their confines and follow them around in the jeep. Snap a pic of the carnage.

Some can’t be done on nublar as they help the main game :

Fill in the holes – Extract a genome to 100% its DNA via the fossils.

You’re the top minds – The game tutorials this, research something.

An Aim not devoid of merit – Complete all Entertainment missions.

You got them eating out of your palm – Complete all Security missions.

Using sophisticated techniques – Complete all Science missions.

Bigger. Louder. More Teeth – Reach the bar fully on an island in Entertainement (Do on all islands if you want that ingen database full)

Instinct we can program – Reach bar fully on Security (again, ingen needs all islands)

I don’t understand this Luddite attitude – Reach bar fully Science (yet again)

How did you do this? – Acheive simultanious 5 stars on all islands.

And all Island unlock achievements.

And the worst one to try and get.

I read your book – unlock all Ingen database entries. As stated above, you need to reach max bar rep with all different groups on each island for this. Do not worry about reducing others reputation that you have already completed.

Another memo unlock is to change gift shop to sell 2nd item, try selling each individual item, and place each building to.

Lastly you need to 5 star Isla Nublar, this is by far the easiest thing to do as you have infinite money. Once you have completed everything, this part should come easy to you and unlock 2 characters and 3 locations.

Questions

Anything I didn’t cover, just hit me up in the comments, also if you found this useful dont forget to rate so others can find this through the other guides

For spacing of dinosaurs i used the reddit spreadsheet supplied by LoveCraftBears
