Overview
This guide contains every ending for Coffin of Ashes, as well as every achievement and how to reach them. It is carefully organized so that users may find their way around it with ease, and spoilers are hidden for those who would like to experience the challenges themselves. Pictures are included for visual aid. Tips for the various challenges are given, as this walkthrough was made as I was taking notes to ensure I did not miss anything. Feel free to message me or leave a comment if there are any questions!Enjoy~~~
Simple Tips
In case you haven’t played a game styled like this, here are some tips.
- Interact with everything. In this game especially, the bookcases hold valuable infomation, which could also lead to achievements. A stone unturned is just a stone, but the key it could be hiding is worth the effort.
- Basic character controls (i.e. arrow keys, space bar for interactions, 0 on the number pad to access menu, etc.) No need to open your inventory to use items, though. It will do so automatically.
- Save frequently. This is a game in which dying is very possible and far too easy. Saving isn’t just a means of “Time to sleep, need to save and go,” but rather important, as there are chase scenes, things that you wouldn’t think could hurt you, that do, and plenty of other bumps in the night that make saving so important. There is also an achievement for saving a certain amount! Check the achievements section for that.
- Take advantage of your multiple save slots. You will need to make decisions in this game. Make sure you don’t need to start from square one every time you want to reach a new ending.
- Reference this walkthrough as often as you need to! There is no shame in it, as it will walk you through both yur directions and your actions.
And an important notice! This has been brought to my attention by a comment below and by my own playthroughs on another account. The codes CAN change, depending on the account. I’ve pplayed through this on my friend’s account and the first code you come across varies for each account. My theory is that it is generated upon purchasing the game, so as to make it more difficult to follow a walkthrough. This may also be true for other codes throughout the game.
This walkthrough gives directions that tell you how to find the answers to things if you are struggling, with the codes themselves hidden until you want to see them. If the code is different for your game, follow the processes in this walkthrough to find them.
Again, this walkthrough is here to add to your experience in this game. You should definitely refer to it if you get stuck, but half the fun of playing this game is the satisfaction of solving the puzzles yourself.
Leave a comment below if you have any questions/comments/concerns!

Go back two rooms to the entrance to the left branch.
Read the sign.
The code to the door is deciphered through patterns seen on the book case and then by looking at these codes.
Go to the door left of the drawing room.
Multiples of three is the pattern for this code.
As I stated in the tips section at the beginning of this walkthrough, the codes vary for each game. The code below was mine, and there is a chance it could be the same for you, but use the hints placed around this area to find your code.
The bookshelves in the drawing room provides the pattern hint for you, and the note on the wall next to the door that leads into the area has the blood-stained hint. The numbers on the left start the pattern, and the numbers on the right complete the pattern. Now, you just need to figure out what it is, and the missing numbers in the middle are your code.
My code is 2781.
Achievement: Arithmetic Progression.
Enter the room.
Move the boxes around to form a path to the bucket on the far side of the room.
Read the sign before interacting with the bucket.
Interact with the bucket to receive a hammer.
A ghost will appear and chase you.
Run from the room.
Go back to the bunny doll and save your game.
Head down the hallway to the right and interact with the mirror now. It becomes bloody.
Head back to the left hallway.
Enter the drawing room.
Approach the giant crack on the wall.
Interact with it to use the hammer.
The wall is now a passage way and the entrance to this room is now blocked with a pink chair.
Enter the crack.
Walk into the Staff room ahead.
Against the far wall are two book cases.
The left side of the right one has a page for you to read.
The beds on the right side have dressers. Interact with each of them for a healing potion and a matchbox with a single match.
Try to exit the room.
The bottle on the ground breaks.
Continue to the hallway, and head right.
Save at the bunny doll.
Going up the stairs now will kill you, earning you the Achievement: Blood Pond.
Hopefully you saved! Reload the game.
Read the sign against the left wall.
Head towards the boxes at the bottom of the screen.
Grab the wood.
Head back to the Staff Room.
Head towards the beds.
Interact with the bottom left bed.

From the bunny doll, head right.
Notice the switch higher up on the wall.
Head back to the study.
Interact with the sign on the wall.
Interact with the statue.
Interact with the sign again.
And then remember the pattern the switch gave you.
Head to the spot beneath the statue and carry out the pattern.
When you get to the spot of the bookcase, interact with it.
Collect the ring.
Exit the study and continue down the hallway.
Fresh blood now lies on the floor in a path. Always follow the path of blood, ladies and gentlemen. Always!
It leads to a previously locked door, now surrounded by pools of blood.
Enter the room. Collect the rope from the right side of the room. Go back and save your game at the bunny doll.
Now remember that high up switch? Continue to the right path.
For the Achievement: That Must Hurt…, interact with the armor before doing anything else. This will kill you, but you gained an achievement! Hopefully, you saved!
You use the rope to pull it down, lowering the spikes.
Interact with the suit of armor to receive a key.
You are flung against the wall, taking damage.
You are at 40/50 health, but have a key.
Go back to the bunny doll and save your game.
Enter the right hallway and interact with the last door on the right.
The key unlocks this bedroom.
You see a ghost! But this one resembles a person.
Interact with the bookcase at the bottom left of the room to find a diary.
After reading it you hear glass breaking.
A masked figure runs into the room and searches, but doesn’t find you.
Go back to the room with the bloody trail and interact with the picture book.
Go back to the bunny doll and save your game.
Leave the room and continue up the hallway to the cup of coffee.
For the Achievement: A Bit Too Bitter, drink the coffee and die. If you saved recently, this shouldn’t be a problem. You’ll need to interact with it and choose to drink it twice in order to go through with it.
Interact with the coffee.

You receive a human finger, and a bloody hand print appears on the wall.
Go back to the bunny doll and save your game.
Now go to that metal door next to the bloody door and use the finger to gain access.
In the kitchen, interact with the dresser by the right wall.
Find a journal page.
Continue through the doorway to the right.
Save at the teddy bear.
Continue right.
In the Dining Hall, interact with the pages on the ground on the right side.
Investigate the various bloody pieces on the table.
The piece from the Drawing Room looks awfully familiar…
Make your way down the stairs and interact with the door.
A message is displayed.
Mash that space bar to kick down the door! Do it fast!
Now run!
That masked figure from before is here and he’s chasing you!
Run out of this area and make your way back to the original teddy bear room.
Running past the mirror causes it to break, dropping a sparkly on the ground.
You absolutely need this key. It’s absolutely worth stopping for, even mid chase. It’s your only means of escape, after all!
Interact with the sparkly on the ground for the Balcony key.
The balcony is the door just past the table with coffee and burnt food in the left corridor. Be fast!
Enter the balcony.
Watch the cutscene.
You wake up in a bed in an unfamiliar room.
There is a girl with pink hair named Lilin and a gloomy boy named Ian. Achievement: Meet By Chance.
They are trapped like you.

Save at the bunny doll. Make sure you have two save slots, though, in order to achieve all endings.
Interact with the torn papers on the right bookshelf.
Interact with the shelf with bottles to receive a healing potion.
Exit the door to your left.
This brings you to the right corridor you were in previously.
Try to go through the left hallway.
Receive a message.
Continue left.
The bunny doll here has been torn to pieces.
Continue up and over to the balcony.
You are stopped by Lilin.
Here’s where it gets tricky.
Trusting Lilin is the route that leads you to the True Ending, Rebirth. Doubting her brings you to the ending Farewell. Having multiple save slots enables you to come back to this point to make a different decision, and reach all endings.
Head right to the staircase.
Use Lilin’s key to unlock the door.
Enter and read the sign on the wall.
Go up the stairs.
Third Floor

You won’t be able to do anything about it right now. Remember it is here.

Read the pieces of paper in the desk.
Read the sign on the wall.
Read the paper on the table at the bottom.
Read the book about spirits on the first bookcase three rows down.
Read the book on the first bookcase in the first row. Read the book on the second bookcase on the first row.
Leave the Reading Room and go save at the bunny doll.
From the bunny doll, head down the hallway and enter the only room on the left, the Restrooms.
Walk to the figure and speak to maid.
Offer to help her.
She is seeking something she lost and thinks it could be in the courtyard.
The small room in the top right is very dark inside.
Enter the room.
You can’t see anything, but walk around and keep trying to interact with things.
Find a bucket.
Leave this dark room.
Go and stand on the carpeting near the pools and interact with the water.
Do this once more.
Go and save at the bunny doll.
Head back to the Reading Room.
Interact with the flower pots.
From left to right, the count is:
10, 12, 13, 14, 13, 10, 8, 5, 6.
The first book shelf of the first row has a piece of paper hidden between books.
It says “Find it using the distance hint suggested by flowers.”
This is the hint to finding the correct red book in these shelves.
The first book shelf on the fourth row has a red book.
The second book shelf on the third row has a red book you can take. Be careful not to take any other red books from the shelves, as they do corrosive damage to you.
Read the note on that large table one more time.
A red item? Place the book on the exact opposite side of the table.
An item appears on the floor.
It’s one of the gold coins for the rat!
Interact with the note on the table for the Achievement: No Need To Say Thanks.
Go back and save at the bunny doll.
The door to the right of the bunny doll is now unlocked.
Enter the Piano room.
Interact with the piano.
Interact with the sign against the back wall.
Move to the right portion of the room.
Read the sign.
Interact with the book case for the code:
C #C D #D E F #F G #G A #A B
It seems to represent the arrangement of a piano’s black and white keys.
Keys with “#” marks are black.
The rest are white.
“C” corresponds to “Do”.
When you try to exit the room, the bears start to move.
Hurry to the piano!
Which note was extra?
F!!!!!
Select this!
The bears all become piles of blood.
A small door now opens near the book case to the right.
Go through the door to find another gold coin for the rat and a key to the kids room.
Head down the hallway below and enter the second room on the right using the Kids Room key.
Interact with the bunny dolls on the left.
The red bunny had a number 5 on the back and the yellow bunny has a 9 on the back.
The green bunny has a 4 on the back and the blue bunny has a 1.
A chest to your right is locked by a code.
Interact with the wndow for some rain.

The gate on the left has a code needed, which corresponds to the pillars.
The code is: 686.
Enter the area.
Interact with the well once.
Exit the area.
Interact with the pool to fill the bucket with water.
Return to the well and poor the water in.
Exit this area.
Enter the right gate, now unlocked.
The safest route, as there are evil spirits here, is up and left the entire way, and then all the way to the right when you can.
DO NOT TOUCH THE COLORED WATER IT WILL HURT YOU thanks.
Find the key in the water.
Interact with the pillar.
Make your way back the way you came and look for some vines on the left.
Climb those.
Make your way all the way up to the top middle of the rock wall where there is an inlet.
Go up.
Make your way over to the slime and interact with it to collect it.
Exit the cave system completely, staying to the left.
Enter the left gate.
Enter the Rest House cabin to your left.
Read the letter on the floor.
Interact with the sparkly for a key.
Interact with the table to rest and regain your health.
Interact with Lilin to ask questions and get some answers.
Rest one more time to get the Achievement: Rest Well.
Return to the mansion from the Courtyard.
Go to the maid and give her the slime. She will now clear a passage for you.
Achievement: Slime Friend.
Head to the bunny doll and save, then continue all the way right.
Interact with the sparkly on the bookshelf for a journal page.
Interact with the jars on the shelf for two healing potions.
The chair moves.
Use the Delicate key to unlock the door.
Enter the room.
You see a narrow passageway with what looks like two little ghost girls on either side, facing away from you.
You can’t interact with them yet. Go forward until you reach a passageway.
You find yourself back at the start of the room.
Go through the passageway ahead two more times and then approach the girls.
Either one.
This activates the Ghost Hunt game.
The purpose of the game is to catch the Lena with longer hair and not let the other catch you.
You have 10 seconds to do so.
You must catch Lena and then live for the rest of the duration, or catch her and hold her for the duration.
The other Lena will continue to move even as you catch the first Lena.
Try to get Lilin between you and the second Lena, as she can only move forward and this allows you to win the game.
When you’ve won, go back and save at the bunny doll.
Achievement: The Twins.
Enter this room again and continue up the passageway.
You learn more about the “twins” and become a bit closer with Lilin.
Exit this area and return to the room with the chair that moved.
Head right from here.
Interact with the black figure here once, then again.
He wants you to bring a boy here.
eave this area for now.
Return to the room the twins were in.
Enter the next room.
Interact with the bookcases.
Continue up the stairs to the fourth floor.
Fourth Floor
This area has spikes further up ahead, so exercise caution.
Interact with the small bookshelf at the bend in the hallway.
Once you’ve made it past the spikes, save at the bunny doll.
Head down the stairs to your left.
Read the stone.
You receive the numbers:
13, 12, 18
Don’t touch the levers for now.
Head back up the stairs and then up the next set.
Interact with the black figure.
He leaves you with the message:
“The second one from the right is real.”
The door to his left states:
“It is better to light the candles than to curse the darkness,” and asks for a two-digit code.
Come back to this.
Move to the right side of the hallway.
Enter the first door.
There are tiles on the floor with arrows which move you in the direction they point.
Follow the arrow pointing left on the left that doesn’t make a loop and make your way to the top. The arrow to follow is above the broken tile, to the left.
Like that black figure said, the second from the right is real.
Any other chest but the second to right one will cause you damage when opened.
For the Achievement: Fear No More, open all of the boxes without dying. Use Health potions between opening boxes. Save your super potions until you need them.
Retrieve the seeds.
Exit the room.
Continue to the next door to the right.
Read the book in the upper right corner.
Step into the gray tile inside the orange square and interact with the water.
Use the seeds.
Make your way across the lily pads to retrieve the purple bead.
Go back to the bunny doll and save.
The door at the top of the hallway has four circular grooves.
This is not something you can interact with yet.
Head back to the spikey area.
There is a section of the wall that looks abnormal.
Choose to lean against it and open a smaller door.
Once you have taken the blue bead, the lighting changes.
Head back to the levers.
The sign on the wall had the numbers 13, 12, 18.
Lilin now comments that it could mean the alphabet.
In this case, the alphabet has 26 letters.
The numbers offered are associated with the switches, which go between not opened, half opened and totally opened.
To reach twenty six, you need to turn 18 all the way on and 13 half way on.
Yes.
This reaches twenty five. But it’s the solution!
A staircase emerges from the floor.
Go save at the bunny doll before continuing downward.
When you make your way down the stairs, the solution to the puzzle is shown on a sign.
Take the red bead.
Lighting changes again.
Go back to the bunny doll and save your game.
I really recommend saving here if you’ve been skipping your saves because a lot of ghosts are coming up! Achievement: Saveaholic.
Go back to that riddle on the coded door.
Count all of the candles in this big room.
Not candelabras.
Candles.
Total, there are 12.
That’s the code to the door.
Enter the room.
Follow the path to the left side of the room and be quick to avoid ghosts the easiest.
These guys deal at least 20 damage each. If you’re not at full health, 2 ghostie bumps is all it takes to kill you. Be careful.
Find the green bead and get out of there as quickly and cautiously as you can!
Go save at the bunny doll.
Head up to the door with the four grooves to insert the four beads and unlock the door.
Watch the scene with Delilah and Lilin.
Go up the staircase, appreciate the soundtrack that’s creepy and cute at the same time.
Reach the top.
Interact with the tombstone.
Interact again for the code:
West 4
South 2
From where you’re standing, move in the configuration above.
Interact with the flowers.
Do not press it or you will be damaged. Use the ring.
A sliding entryway opens in the ground above the tombstone.
Spooky.
Go back and save at the bunny doll before progressing.
Return here and go down the “rabbit’s hole.”
Continue left.
You find yourself face to face with the masked man.
Lilin offers to distract him.
Run left.
Interact with the bookcase on the left to see:
The second to right item leads to the far right, the far right leads to the second to left, and second to left leads to far left.
The other bookcase holds another chapter of the picture book.
Read this. Achievement: The Complete Story.
Make your way up the stairs.
Continue through the passageway.
The door at the end has a combination.
Return down the broken stairs.
The stone pillars have numbers on them.
These coincide with the pattern found in the book.
Put them together and the code becomes: 1963.
Enter the code and unlock the door.
Save at the bunny doll.
Read each sign as you continue down the pathway.
You are struck by a ghost.
It’s unavoidable.
Reach the next room.
Read the sign to start the next event.
A ghost appears, as well as an iron key.
Grab the key and run to the right.
Go save at the bunny doll quickly.
The door you came through is now sealed shut and bloody.
Down the hallway there is now a passage to the right.
Enter it.
When you go up the stairs to use the iron key, a bloody hand print appears.
Use the key and enter the next area.
There is a portrait of a man against the far wall.
Interact with it twice to reveal a secret entrance.
Enter it.
Make your way through the spikes to pull down the switch.
Exit the room.
Make your way to the path on the left.
Enter the first room you see.
Read the book.
Open the sac in the upper right side of the screen.
Other sacs will either reveal granular objects or ghosts will appear.
The correct sac yields a brown key.
Continue down the hallway to another door.
This one requires a brown key to unlock.
Use it.
Enter the room.
Speak to the deacon.
He asks you to pick out the best spice.
Speak to him again.
You’ll have to come back for this.
Exit the room.
Interact with the butterfly to add it to your items.
Continue on to the next room (the bigger hall, not the ghostie room).
The big door at the top of the carpeting is locked.
Continue right from here.
Save at the bunny doll.
This door is locked, too.
Stand on the bloody handprint and interact with the wall to open a hidden door.
Interact with the man with white hair to receive a white jade, which you can use to drive evil out.
It is an item you use, similar to a potion.
Read the poster on the wall.
You’re missing four letters from the sentence “Do you believe xxxx?”
Search around the library.
Receive an advanced healing potion.
Make your way back to the main hallway here and into the left corridor.
Return to the kitchen area. Approach the spices in with the mushrooms.
Interact with it and then butterfly will land on it, showing it’s the right spice.
Receive a grey key and an advanced healing potion.
Speak to him again.
You are warned that “she” might be interested in you.
Go and save at the bunny doll again.
Interact with the door above you.
Use the key.
Enter the room.
Make your way quickly through the halls and pull the blue switch.
The bears will follow you.
Treat them like the ghosts and don’t let them touch you.
The large door in the main hallway is now opened.
Save your game and make your way over here.
You see prison cells filled with bodies.
Make your way down the hall until you reach the end.
Interact with the sparkly on the bookcase. BEWARE! Once you read this, the masked figure will appear at the end of the red sentence. Be prepared to run.
Being killed here gives you the Achievement: Ashes in Coffin.
Make your way through the dungeon slightly down and to the right and find the blue switch.
Pull it and continue down and to your left.
Keep running.
Eventually, you find the exit to the mansion.
You speak with Lilin here.
Exit upwards.
Continue forward.
Watch the dialogue.
Ending: Going In Circles
Really, Going in Circes is Rebirth Part 1. You need to have done all of this for Rebirth to be possible.
Rebirth Ending
The only differences you” notice in Rebirth that you didn’t in Going In Circles would be the following:
- You team up with Ian to explore the mansion rather than Lilin.
- You can’t make a decision when walking by the balcony, as this is essentially part 2 of a two part ending, and you have already made your decision by this point.
- You can’t be teased by Lilin by the maid, as you are with Ian.
- The maid does not have a quest for you, as you have already done it.
- When you encounter Lena, She does not want to play with you. Instead, she says good bye, and thanks you for paying with her so many times. (SPOOKY HUH?)
- In the hallway where spikes emerge from the floor, the man you previously encountered in the hidden room is now your save space, and questions why you do not remember him.
From the point where you and Lilin encounter the evil spirit, and you and Lilin became separated, the story takes a turn.
Ian and you flee into the previous room, and the floor collapses beneath you.
Watch the short cutscene.
Delilah is seriously injured.
You are now controlling Ian.
Save with the man.
Interact with the sign on the wall above the crystal.
Go down the stairs that appear at the bottom of the screen.
There are five large Tombstone looking things with crystals that light up. Interact with them in the correct order in order to complete the puzzle. Trial and error will solve the puzzle.
The solution is: The Only, II, Tarot Queen, Square, Leo.
The logic behind this is the amount of sides something has. The only would mean one, II is two, Tarot Queen is three (not entirely sure why), Square is four, and Leo is five (again, not sure why).
Go back and save with the man.
Continue down and to the right.
Move cautiously. There aren’t walls in this room. You WILL fall and die if you aren’t careful!
Interact with the slate to remove an obstacle that lies outside and to the left.
Go back and save with the man.
There are numerous paths in this room, four total, and each has an interesting sign at the end. Read them for some story flavor.
The third path from the left is the correct one. Stay to the right and follow the path right when it splits.
Interact with the slate at the top.
Some stairs now appear to your right. They bring you back to Delilah.
Read the letter on the floor. The man has now left you. Can’t save right now.
Interact with Delilah.
Interact with the crystal.
Delilah regains all of the memories she lost during her time in the mansion, and rejoins the party.
Return to the hole in the wall you saw previously, by the bridge. It is accessible to Delilah if Ian helps her through it, though he would not be able to follow.
Pull both levers, which make a hole in the room to the left, and then leave.
Go down the stairs and save at the bunny doll.
There are flame spirits in here which deal damage and can kill. Move cautiously.
Make your way to the llarge stone balls on the right. The best way to move through them is as follows:
The bottom rock accessible to you should be pushed all the way right. The rock now accessible to the left and down should be pushed down. Turn right and push that boulder next. Continue to push down and then right and exit the stone maze.
Retrieve the sector slate, then go and save at the bunny doll.
Head to the bottom left of the screen and retrieve the shovel.
Return to the hole where the two levers were and dig up that hole that appeared, getting anoter sector slate.
Return to the room with the flame spirits and save at the bunny doll.
Make your way to the upper left corner of the room and interact with the pattern.
The grooved door has space for three sector plates, and you only have two. This is when Lilin appears! She gives you the third sector piece. CG!
Go up the stairs and save at the bunny doll.
This part of the game gets super tricky, so pay attention!
Flip all levers as you see them, that’s a rule for this area. And move quickly. Things WILL start moving when you aren’t expecting it.
After flipping the first lever, you find a map in the middle of the room.
The numbers are the order in which they are applied to the code for the only metal door in this whole area, which lies in the middle of the room. You’ll need to rotate it or look at it in different ways in order to get what you need out of it.
The rooms are as follows:
Upper right: room 1.
Middle right: room 3.
Lower right: room 4.
Lower left: room 5.
Middle left: room 6 (needs gold and silver keys.)
Room 2 is within room 3, behind the wooden chair. Push it to the right or left to access the door.
Head to the metal door in the middle to unlock it.
The code is: 631542.
Interact with the shinies and leave the room.
Pull the first lever to receive a broken key.
Pull the next lever .
Head to room 1 (upper right).
The glue you found fixes the broken key and unlocks the room.
Step on the circles as follows:
Middle, Right, Bottom, Right.
Retrieve the key to room 3. Use the left circle to exit the room.
Head to room 3, cautious of the Knights, as they are moving around and will harm you if they touch you.
Interact with the shiny and the barrel to get the key to room 2.
Push the chair aside and open room 2.
FInd the key to room 4 inside.
Exit this area.
The Knights are super active now. Be careful!
Head to room 4 and speak to the woman. You must catch her to get the key to room 5.
Chase any version of her and interact with her to stop her. She drops the key where the version you caught stands.
Take the key to room 5.
Head to room 5 (lower left).
Take the golden key from the book on the left.
Read the notes on the table.
Talk to the figure.
Interact with the furthest left bed and look under to find the silver key. Don’t look under the other beds or you will take damage.
Leave the room and head for the double doors (middle left) and unlock them.
Read the note on the wall and then speak to the pianist. You can talk to the figures here, but nothing they say is useful.
Start leaving the room. Stop walking about three times or so on your way, but make sure to get as close to the door as possible.
A chase scene!
Head out of the room and run to the room in the middle with the metal door. Save at the bunny doll!!!!!!
Go through the little opening.
Interact with the crystal.
Watch the cutscene.
As soon as you can, run for the entrance.
Head to the door.
The rest of this is the ending for Rebirth!
Hopefully, you all enjoyed this as much as I did!
For the Achievements: CG Fangirl and Extra Content, save the game when it has finished the ending, and then from the main screen, load that file. You find yourself in a lavish hallway, decorated for a party. Interact with the characters for the latter achievement, and continue up the stairs and interact with the various drapes for the former achievement.
If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment!
I wanted this walkthrough to give the players the best experience of the story I could. If you went in circles (haha, a pun), I apologize, but hopefully it made the gameplay more interesting!
