The Cube Hotel (Ning’s Wing 2) Escaping Ending Walkthrough

Overview

Attention: Thanks for @ThemePark ‘s advice. This maintainence is now finished.Thank you for purchasing this game. This is an official walkthrough to THE CUBE HOTEL (Ning’s Wing 2) Escaping Ending by Jimmy Carlson. The Escaping Ending is one of the most difficult endings of this game. Make sure you’ve already clear the Awake Ending before trying this ending! The difficulty of this route is extreme! To get an “S Rank”, you have to complete this route within 30 minutes.

Escaping Ending Route: 1st Part

I repeat! Make sure you’ve already cleared The Awake Ending!

All right. I’m going to rewrite this part, and, some secrets of the puzzles that should be solved when you’ve playing the route for the second time, are revealed in the following texts.

[Event: Woke in Room 301]
Go to the washroom and get the silver key. Go through the window as you’ve done before.
This time, please take a photograph of the Chinese character on the window. (The 1st Character)
Get the moon-shaped block as usual and unlock the door between Room 303 and the west hallway.

Now first, use the elevator and move to 1F. Take a photograph of the portrait in the west hallway.
Then go into the hall. Take the Key No.1 and the paper ball. Afterwards, move to 5F by the elevator.

Here comes something different:
I’m going to talk about the board in [5F, West Hallway], that is:
OR
I call this puzzle “Hexagram Puzzle”.
Players who have explored in the 4 rooms in 3F must have noticed that there are several “switches” in rooms of 3F. Switching on, and a hexagram will appear on the roof.
I can tell you that there are some switches in 4F, too. The different between them is that if you switch on the switches in 3F, the color of these switches turns green. However in 4F, the color turns blue.

Well, let’s first look at the green ones first.
First, green is the color of the activated switches in 3F. The switches are in Room 301, 302, 303 and 304. The positions of 3×3 blocks matches the positions of these rooms. Remember the “Handprint Puzzle” in Awake Ending? The same to this one. So, as the example above, we have to activate the switches according to the order given. The first one to activate is given on the left of that BOARD, that is Room 303. Then, activate the switches in 4F according to the clockwise order, that is 301, 302, 304. Since you cannot reach the last two rooms, just switch on the first two. Remember, 303 goes first, and then 301.

And then for players who face a blue board, the same to the green ones, you have to switch on the switches in Rooms of 4F in a clockwise order. As the example above, the first one is Room 402, and then 404, 403 and 401.

Something should be changed after you’ve activated the 4 switches in a correct order. An indigo square piece is shown behind this board. However, these are words later.

Simply put, if your board is green, activate the two rooms right now, otherwise (which means blue board), remember this board and activate the switches later.

After understanding the puzzle above, input that “RETAW” and take the Key No.3. Good news is that you may now not record the 4×4 puzzle board in Playroom which was used to solve the “ZN puzzle”.

[Event: Meet the shadow for the first time]
Unlock the red door and take the remote control. Return to Room 301 and turn on the telly.
Now here’s a secret.
Carefully look at the order of the charaters appearing on the screen. Five times they appear the same, but for the sixth time, there is an alternative order different from the first five ones. This is an alternative code to unlock the 3×3 puzzle in the swimming pool. Please, remember that alternative order.

Get the pink puzzle piece and back to the hall in 1F and unlock the door with 3. First, go upstairs and get the two puzzle pieces (orange and blue).
Afterwards, let’s solve the input box never been used in the Awake Ending Route.
There is a 7-digit password.
Find the answer in the epilogue of Awake Ending! (2054416, the date which Lucy Leng died. The way of expressing dates is a little bit different in China.)
After you unlock the door, get a “Key No.2” on the desk. Another Chinese character printed on the sofa (The 2nd Character)

Go downstairs and don’t remember to get the chest. Solve the “Tic-tac-toe” and get into the kitchen. There is a Chinese character on the stoves and take a photograph (The 3rd Character).
A door can be unlocked by Key No.2 is now able to open. In the lawn, put the moon-shaped puzzle piece on the funny face and you get a “torch”(without battery).

Go to the swimming pool now and solve the 3×3 puzzle with that alternative order. There should be a strange sign behind the access card.
Never mind the sign now, let’s move forward. Don’t forget the Chinese character on the window. (The 4th Character)

[Event: Attacked by shadow]
Go through the door with passcode 2041 and get the cyan puzzle piece. Go upstairs to [6F, North hallway] and this time, you may not solving “ZN puzzle” coz the door can be unlocked by Key No.2.
Take a photograph of the Chinese character on the wooden door.(The 5th Character)

Use your access card and pass the green door. And that’s the end of part 1.

Escaping Ending Route: 2nd Part

Quite a little journey in this part.

Take a photograph of the hint with 10-colored-patterns in [6F, Wast Hallway].

Use the elevator to 2F and solve the UDLR Puzzle (not an official name). Combine the torch and the battery inside the groove. The torch is now charged.

From here is a different route. In The Awake Ending Route, we put the moon puzzle piece on the
picture in [4F, West Hallway]. But we’ve already used this puzzle to get a torch. So the only
way, like what I mentioned in the previous version, is to solve the Color Puzzle.

[4F, West Hallway]
What does the hint with 10-colored-patterns mean?
I must admit that it really needs an extremely sensitive ability of imagination. (If you have
played a prequel of Ning’s Wing Series, that is THE DREAMHOUSE ESCAPE V1.5, this puzzle should be easier.)
Take this hint as an example.
We divide the patterns with different colors from each other first.
And then add segments on the top and the bottom of each divided patterns.
Like the picture below.
Get it?
No? Then what about the picture below?
Now you finally know what it means.
Like the picture above, patterns are numbers. Then what about the colors?
A 3×3 block, is that something I’ve just solved?
Right. Another “Magic Square”. But this time the numbers are colors. The colors represent the numbers and we should form these colors a 3×3 magic square. It shouldn’t be difficult.
The answer to the example above comes here.

[4F, Room 403]
Take a photograph of the Chinese character on the bear. (The 6th Character)

[4F, Room 401]
Make sure your torch is powered on (combined with battery) before unlocking the door. Go through the door now.

You have to do 3 things in this room.
1. Click the table on the left.
There is a “Key No.6” here!
2. Write down the Chinese character on the right(coz you cannot take a photograph). More
specifically, the place in the screenshot below. (The 7th Character)
3. Get a pair of insulating boots.
And go downstairs.

First unlock the door with a grey “2” on it by Key No.2, and visit Room 302, Room 304 and the East Hallway.
Back to North Hallway and let’s solve the “Mahjong Puzzle”.
There are two kinds of cards: “two pin”(2 circles, in abbrivation 2p) and “white”(a rectangle, in abbrivation W).
Based from the first example and the pattern of cards, we can easily infer that 2p = 2, W = 0, and 00+20=20.
As a result, 22+02=24, 2+2=4, 0+2=2.
The answer to this puzzle should be “20 24 04 02”.
Quite a simple question, isn’t it?
The door is unlocked now and, solve the handprint puzzle and turn the cube.

[Event: Floor of 3F and 4F inversed]
[3F, East Hallway]
Go downstairs.

[2F, Shower Room]
You know where to get the gold key. Open the chest and take out the diary.
In the 10th page, we can infer that there is a key in Room 401. More specifically, here.
You get the “Key No.4”.

[4F, North Hallway]
Unlock the door with a green “4” on it.

[4F, Room 402]
Go to the bathroom, and, after a plot, unlock the window using “silver key”.

[4F, Room 404]
You may found that there is a shotgun. Take it.
Wait, wait! Take a look at the map of Room 402. Something … green?
Well, if you get the shotgun, Room 402 will start releasing poisonous gas.
To stop the gas, you only have to put the shotgun back to where it was. Put it back now.
A funny gear, right?

All right. Now stop.

Solve the “Hexagram puzzle” (The BOARD) first. Players with green boards, activate the switches of Room 302 and 304 now. Players with blue boards should do the similar things to activate the switches in 4F in the correct order. There’s a hint when you’ve activated switches correctly. Make sure you’ve seen the hint.

And now another secret puzzle must be told right now. Have you ever seen the photograph of CTA group when you’re playing Awake Ending Route?
Anyone who noticed the flag is an arrow?
Now, this is the funny puzzle, from the diary, we can infer everyone’s room, and, according to the photograph, activate the switches in their room from the right to the left order.

The order of pushing the switches is:
401, 403, 404, 302, 304, 402, 303.
You may just push down the six one in the front, coz you cannot reach the last switch right now.
Make sure you’ve pushed these six in the correct order, or you will never have a second chance unless you decide to play it again from the beginning.

Now get the shotgun and escape Room 404 from the door with a pink “6” on it.
Go downstairs 3 times and open the door with a purple “6” on it. (Check whether you have the insulating boots)

After the plot, you get a “big battery”.
Put the battery on the device next to the stair in [4F, East Hallway], and activate the device.
Back to [3F, Engine Room] and reset the cube.
[Event: Floor reset]

The end of 2nd Part. Come on! The most difficult puzzles are waiting you!

Escaping Ending Route: 3rd Part

Now you are in a completely new place.

[5F, East Hallway]
Go through the red door.

[5F, Song of Death]
Go inside the washroom. There is a Chinese character. (The 8th Character) Take a photograph of it.
Now back to the East Hallway and upstairs.

[6F, East Hallway]
Get into the room on the left through a door with a green “4” on it. It is unlocked.
After the long plot, you may understand Eric’s escaping plan. Take a photograph of the Chinese character on the iron door. (The 9th, also the last Character)
Now go back to [5F, East Hallway].

[5F, East Hallway]
Go through the door on the left (The back door of Play room).
And go through the front door again.

After the plot, you killed the shadow. And, Immediately, do as what I said:
1.Go into the elevator
2.Go down to the 3rd floor, and go out the elevator.
3.Put the pink puzzle piece on the puzzle to unlock the door to Room 303.
4.Go into the Room 303’s bathroom and pass through the window. (P.S. Activating the switch to solve the puzzle of CTA photograph is OK)
5.Another plot happened.
6.Escape from the bathroom and lock the shadow inside Room 301.

And that’s the end of this part. The 3rd part is quite simple, because the plots happened in this part are quite long.
In the last part, it is time to get the energy source. Most of the areas in the hotel is now unlocked.
I prefer you may first open the door with a green “4” on it in [1F, West Hallway] and check the board inside the chimney.

Escaping Ending Route: 4th Part

Finally, we come to the 4th part.
Shall we first look at the board mentioned last time?
As you see, there is a small square inside a big square.
The colored puzzle pieces can put in the big square. We’ve already got pink, orange, blue and cyan pieces, so just put them according to the coordinates given. Attention, the coordinates represents where you get this piece, as the blue piece and the orange piece are all in [2F, East Hallway], which is (2,3,3), either place is available.

So we put the 4 pieces:
Pink – [3F, West Hallway] – (3,1,3)
Blue – [2F, East Hallway] – (2,3,3)
Orange – [2F, East Hallway] – (2,3,3)
Cyan – [5F, Manager Room] – (5,1,1)

Now there are 5 pieces left.
Let’s first find the square in the middle, it is in [5F, West Hallway].
The blue square piece is on the top of the BOARD. It is appeared when we’ve solved the BOARD puzzle.
Put the blue square in the middle, the small square in the lounge’s board.

In order to find the red one, we should go back to [3F, North Hallway]. Remember, do not go across Room 301.
Remember the Mahjong puzzle in the 1st part?
The mahjong tiles (cards), however, has a different meaning except numbers.
Does white tile looks like a bed?
Does 2p tile looks like a bed with a pillow and a quilt?
So, if we make a connection between the beds and the tiles, and beds represents the room number, we can easily find that it is in this order:
301 302 303 304
401 402 403 404
So, the same, 301 and 401 are 20.
How could it make sense?
(3+0+1)*(4+0+1)=20
As a result, a second password to this puzzle is appeared.
The answer should be “20 30 42 56”.
A hint appeared telling us searching (6,1,3), so let’s move to [6F, North Hallway].

[6F, North Hallway]
The barrier is a wooden door.
The puzzle beside the door shows 4 groups of coordinates with one of them given. Let’s search the room it shows.. Remember there is one thing that is very obvious but still haven’t used?
The portraits.
There are 4 portraits in the hotel: Da Vinci (1452-1519); Newton (1643-1727); Beethoven (1770-1827); Darwin (1809-1882).
And they are in (1,3,1);(2,3,1);(5,3,3);(6,3,3). [Attention, they do not match with the order shown upon, since they are randomly arranged.]
Connected by three “<” signs, we should input the coordinates where portraits in according to the increasing order of the man on the portrait’s birth year.
The door is unlocked when you input the correct coordinates. Actually, when you have known the other three answers, it is easy to make a guess 🙂
Use your magnifier to check the room to get the red piece.

Red – [6F, Meeting Room] – (6,1,3)

So let’s step into the next one, the puzzle of Chinese characters.

[1F, Hall]
Click on the first clock and record the zone and the time (it should be one o’clock).

[4F, Room 401]
There should be a visual acuity card on the wall, take a photograph of it.

And now let’s solve it using the examples below. The zone is “I” and the time is one o’clock.
Now we’ve know that 1 o’clock represents I. It is easy to infer that 2 o’clock represents J, and 3 o’clock represents K, and so on.
There is an issue when we mark 12 o’clock. 12 o’clock should be T, and next should be U, but it is 1 o’clock again!
That’s right! 1 o’clock represents not only I but also U, and 2 o’clock can represent J or V, and so on, 12 o’clock can represent H or T.
A time can represent two alphabets, but the four alphabets in a row can only form one word.
Take the first row, for example, it is (11,3,1,5).
So according to the rule that 1 represents I or U, the alphabets should be:
11=G/S 3=K/W 1=I/U 5=A/M
Form it into a word, SWIM.
Definately it means swimming pool.
The second row, for another example, (6,5,12,12)
6=B/N 5=A/M 12=H/T
So it should be BATH. The bath means the one in [3F, Room 303] with a Chinese Character on the window.

A chart of words may help you understanding the formation.
I/U F/R C/O B/N IRON matches the door with BOOM in [6F, Research Lab]
C/O C/O C/O K/W COOK matches the fireplace in [1F, Kitchen]
B/N A/M H/T H/T BATH matches the window of [3F, Room 303]
D/P A/M F/R K/W DARK matches the floor of [4F, North Hallway]
B/N E/Q A/M F/R BEAR matches the fluffy teddy bear in [4F, Room 403]
G/S K/W I/U A/M SWIM matches the window of the pool in [1F, Swimming Pool]
G/S C/O F/R A/M SOFA matches the sofa of [2F, Dining Room]
D/P E/Q A/M D/P DEAD matches the washroom in [5F, Song of Death]
K/W C/O C/O D/P WOOD matches the wooden door of [6F, North Hallway]

So the four rows from the example means:
SWIM, BATH, DEAD, WOOD.
It shows us 4 Chinese characters, what do they mean?

There is a hint given in [6F, Study Room], that 五=10.
The Chinese character 五 means five, definately it does not equal to 10.
But if we count on the segments that forms 五:
It has 10 segments.
So the number of segments is the answer to a Chinese character.
Here is a chart:
一=1,八=2,川=3,六=4,工=5,土=6,天=7,王=8,正=9

Now we get 4 numbers, where can we use them?

[6F, East Hallway]
There is a puzzle with a big sign exactly the same as that of the visual acuity card.
So let’s input the four numbers, and the door unlocked!
Go through the door to get a purple piece.

Purple – [6F, Table Tennis Room] – (6,2,3)

So there’s two left. Whoa, too many in this part, the rest are in part 5.

Escaping Ending Route: 5th Part

Finally, this walkthrough comes an ending. Let’s collect the last two pieces. Actually, you’ve almost get them

First is the green piece. Please move to [3F, Room 304].
The photograph of CTA Group. We’ve solved this puzzle in the 2nd part.

Reach the green piece upon the photograph after you’ve pushed all of the switches.

Green – [3F, Room 304] – (3,2,3)

Next is the yellow piece, remember the sign we saw behind the 3×3 puzzle in the swimming pool?
[1,2,1], which means the lounge.
Use your magnifier searching in the lounge and get the last piece, the yellow piece.

Yellow – [1F, Lounge] – (1,2,1)

Now you should get the 9 pieces already. Let’s take a review.
Pink – [3F, West Hallway] – (3,1,3)
Blue – [2F, East Hallway] – (2,3,3)
Orange – [2F, East Hallway] – (2,3,3)
Cyan – [5F, Manager Room] – (5,1,1)
Red – [6F, Meeting Room] – (6,1,3)
Purple – [6F, Table Tennis Room] – (6,2,3)
Green – [3F, Room 304] – (3,2,3)
Yellow – [1F, Lounge] – (1,2,1)
Indigo Square – [5F, West Hallway] – (5,1,3) in the middle of the chimney board.

Put them on the board in the chimney according to the coordinates, and, get the energy core.
Finally, back to [6F, Research Lab] and win the game!

That’s all! Thanks for reading, and purchasing the game!
