The Forest: The Beginning

Overview

Hey! In this guide I will show you the basics of the game.May i go and add more things in the future, but the game is currently in alpha version!

Short Introduction

In this guide I will show you the basics of the Game The Forest.

First of all, you are in the plane and you crash on an island.
There are 4 Spawnpoints/locations.

Spawn 1:

In front of the beach side with the crashed boat.
Spawn 2:

Elevated above and near the beach, also by a mutant camp, which is also on the beach. Heading downwards to the left, you can find an island, which is a good place to set up your base.
Spawn 3:

In the middle of the forest with a small walk towards the beach side with the crashed
boat. Near the first spawn.

The Beginning

To get started:

When you wake your son is kidnapped and your quest is to find him. Before you leave the plane, you have to look for all the food and drinks.
After that you leave the plane. With luck you can get in the plane back again, if you dont have a shelter before the night begins. When your outside, you have to open all the suitcases.

Items in here:

Tennis Ball – Can be used as molotov.
Cloth -You need it for crafting a torch or ropes.
Money -Used to craft bombs, later.
Wrist Watch – Used to craft bombs, later again.
Soda – A drink.
Snack
Flashlight – Alternative as Lighter.
Booze

Shelter & Night

After you get all the items by opening the suitcases, you have to chop down a few trees.
Then you have logs. You use them to build a house and walls or something like that.
Open your book with the crafting recipies by pressing B.
WARNING: IF THEY FALL ON YOUR WOOD WALLS OR YOUR HOUSE IT BREAKES.

The best places for building a shelter or a house is the beach. The aren’t that much Mutants or Canibals.
But I still recommend a treehouse. Just chop down near trees and your safe. :p
If youre in Singleplayer, playing alone, I dont recommend to go out. The Mutants are much more active at night.

Food

Wild animals live in the forest or at the beach.

At the beach:

Turtles
Crocodiles

In the Forest:

Rabbits
Lizards
Birds
In lakes or ponds fish
Deers

Maybe a few more..
You can catch them in traps. You can put rabbits into a Cage.
But you can kill them, too. Press E to take the meat and the fur.
The fur is used for boots.
The lizard skin is used for a armor.
You have to put the meat on a campfire and wait a moment.
An other option is to put it on a dyring rack.

Canibals and Mutants

These are the enemys in the game: The Mutants!
They have patrols walking around. You can hide, btw its better with an special armor!
They are much more active at night. Last time i played The Forest, there were 20 Mutants at once!

But there are Supermutants, theyre much more stronger, so you need good weapons!
You can eat the meat from them or use it decorative as a totem.

The End

No guys, at the moment there is no end. Maybe they add a optional end, but i dont really know.
