A Real Po-Po

Examine 300 different things, items, or characters
Pretty easy – just examine tons of things until this pops! Be thorough, though, because I did not get this until basically the end of the game.

The Talkinator

Start conversations with 60 different characters
Use the Talk icon to talk to pretty much everybody and this will eventually unlock. Be sure to get every possible person, though – I was pretty thorough and did not get this until the very end.

Time To Die

Get yourself killed in every way possible in Neofeud
According to my records there are eight ways to die. Since dying does not give you a game over, it, just gives you a soft reset, you’ll have to hit each one of these in a single playthrough and keep playing without reloading a prior save. Obviously, going for Time to Die will lock you out of Diehard, Bruce Willis. Many of these are tied to achievements, and some may lock you out of other achievements unless you get them first and reload. Please let me know if I am missing anything in this section. The ways to die are:

  • Death by Cop: Locks you out of Police Killing Killjoy – When assisting a lady robot at Sentient Services, you will be attacked by a cop. Attempt to taze him without first mentioning the safety in order to die.
  • Death by Electricity: Also earns you Your Major Malfunction – When you leave your office to find the Silica family, approach the fusebox and attempt to break the glass with your hand.
  • Death by Terminator: Also earns you Ion Cannon Fodder – When you reach the Arcade, pick a fight with Talos, beg for your life, and then taze his foot.
  • Death by Soldier (Part 1): Locks you out of Six Billion Dollar Baller – When the Arcade is raided, pop out of cover and hang around for the hail of bullets. For good measure, I would also try dying during the second phase of this escape sequence as well.
  • Death by Airship: Also earns you Sylvester Warzenneger but may lock you out of I’m All Outta Kick-A** – After questioning your boss in a luxury office, you will be able to select either “run” or “fight”. Select “fight”.
  • Death by Fireball: Also earns you Horus’ Talons but may lock you out of Evasive Maneuvers – When you can pilot the ship as Karl during the G8 summit, approach the security planes. When detected, chose to fight.
  • Death by Soldier (Part 2): Locks you out of Coup-Coup Clockwork – When Karl reaches a standoff in the upper throne room, break cover to try to shoot a guard without first solving the puzzle.
  • Death by Soldier (Part 3): Locks you out of No Flaws In Paradise – During the final sequence, a guard will emerge from the right to kill you. Let him.
Diehard, Bruce Willis

Don’t die a single time in Neofeud
Play through the game avoiding all of the deaths detailed above.

Complete the game, having gotten every other possible achievement in Neofeud
After you’ve done everything else, finish the game.

Missables

Police Killing Killjoy

Stop the homicidal security guard without being killed
The way to correctly solve this puzzle is to let the guard know his safety is on. Next, distract him with the ol’ “Hey, what’s that over there?” gag, charge your zapper using the wall outlet, and zap him.

Ghetto Cyberware Master

Repair Karl’s cybernetic arm in under two minutes
This one’s a bit tricky due to some finnicky controls. Make a save when you reach your office. When you try to leave your office shortly after completing your paperwork, your arm will malfunction. Once you have the screwdriver from the desk and the oil from the filing cabinets, a repair minigame of sorts will begin. You will have to use the screwdriver to loosen all 4 screws, remove the screws and the protective plate using the hand tool, unclog the jam with the screwdriver, apply the oil, and then reassemble the mechanism. If you are having trouble swapping tools try right clicking to deselect your current tool. This might take a practice run or two if you aren’t prepared.

Your Major Malfunction

Trigger the Energenius Box’s defenses and get yourself killed
When you reach the apartments, there is a power meter on the top floor. Before solving the associated puzzle, examine the meter and try to break the glass with your hand.

Benevolent

Answer “No” on the majority of the Silica’s CPS investigation
Mutually exclusive with IRON FIST. Shortly after locating the Silicas, you will inspect their house and interview them. You will earn this for letting the majority of their violations slide. You can earn both by saving before the inspection begins and reloading after it ends.

Iron Fist

Answer “Yes” on the majority of the Silica’s CPS investigation
Mutually exclusive with Benevolent. Shortly after locating the Silicas, you will inspect their house and interview them. You will earn this for mercilessly coming down on them, you heartless monster. You can earn both by saving before the inspection begins and reloading after it ends.

Dickenstonian

Give the right answers to Chopper and The Arcade’s Bouncer the first time
When you reach the area outside of the Arcade, talk to the bouncer and ask to buy some drugs. When he asks why, inform him that you are friends with Proto-J. Next, talk to the Chopper and convince him you are Proto-J’s lawyer. Next, tell him you grew up in the Sunshine Apartments. Return to the bouncer and ask for a fusion cell model T-1138.

Orwellian Slip

A dystopian typo…
After solving the puzzle with Chopper, the Bouncer, and the Junkie, you will learn the code to the Arcade. Rather than the 4-digit code provided, enter “1984” instead.

Ion Cannon Fodder

Piss Talos off till he redecorates the bar with Karl’s internal organs
When you reach the Arcade, there is a large robot with a red bandana sucking a tube of some sort of green ooze. If you act rudely to this robot, it will take you into a choke hold. To make the robot end your existence, beg for your life, and then taze the robot’s lower leg with your zapper. This must be done prior to solving the puzzle with the arcade machine in this area.

Six Billion Dollar Baller

Get through The Arcade shootout without being killed once, or using saves beyond the start
When the Arcade gets raided and bullets start flying, make sure to save ASAP. Saving here is okay but saving any other time during this section may deny you the achievement. In the first bit, wait until Talos leaves cover to shoot some hadouken-looking fireballs. Just at that moment, select “leave cover” and make for the exit in back. You will be thwarted, though. Next, when prompted, make a beeline for the arcade machine on the far right side of the room. After safely in cover, select Karl and move the box on the floor; this will switch your control to the second character, and you should give yourself some cover fire. Next, use the blowtorch on the grate as Karl, and once again, give yourself cover fire. If successful, this should unlock.

Open Source Illuminati

Drill down into the Neofuedal machinations with Sybil
After the events in the Arcade, you will find yourself aboard some sort of ship with a mysterious benefactor. Exhaust all dialogue options with her and this should unlock.

Superposition

Activate the Garden of Forking Paths prototype in Goertzel’s lab
Pretty self-explanatory. One of your options when you gain access to the ship is to go to Goertzel’s lab. When you gain access to his phone, check out the Garden of Forking Paths app prior to leaving the lab.

Sylvester Warzenneger

Try to shoot down the Coch-Jobbs Overthrower and get yourself killed
In Shuffler’s office, you will be attacked shortly after interrogating him. If you choose to “fight”, it results in a game over, but you will earn this achievement.

I’m All Outta Kick-A**

Hide when the Coch-Jobbs warcopter blasts Shuffler’s office
This is unlocked at the same time as Sylvester Warzenneger. Simply choose to “hide” instead of fight. Possibly unmissable, as this is required for story completion – I don’t know if pops or not if you decide to fight first and continue without reloading. To be safe, I recommend saving before interrogating Shuffler and then reloading after getting the Sylvester Warzenneger achievement.

Bladewalker

Tail Jezebel without being caught once
This one is very tricky. At some point, you will return to the street outside of Sentient Services and will have to solve a puzzle to make a listening device. Before you combine the wires, dish, and headphones, SAVE. When you complete the puzzle, Jezebel will emerge and you have to tail her without being caught. The problem is that the detection mechanism leaves almost no room for error. I think I’ve found the best way to do it:
– Right as this section begins, hang out near the traffic light towards the left of the intersection.
– Make your move as Jezebel passes you but before she reaches the right crosswalk
– head for the white car near the top of the screen and walk around the front of it before pursuing her.

Missables – Continued

True Detective

Get all the facts right when explaining Dr. Goertzel’s plot on the first try
When you return to Goertzel’s lab, he will eventually ask you some questions. Respond as follows: The King of Clubs is General Walker Coch-Jobbs, The Jack of Diamonds is Norton Shuffler, and Galileo is Goertzel himself. This should unlock if you answer correctly.

Neofeudalism

Shake all the right hands, do your princess wave, maybe give a speech about world peace
Possibly unmissable. When playing as Sybil, talk to everyone in the room at the G8 Summit.

Horus’ Talons

Get the Superpositor destroyed by The Fulcrum Airforce
Directly after earning Neofeudalism, switch to Karl and approach the inverted golden pyramid. You will be stopped by security. Select the “Attack” option and you will be blown out of the sky, earning this achievement.

Evasive Maneuvers

Evade The Fulcrum Airforce after the Superpositor has been detected
Directly after earning Neofeudalism, switch to Karl and approach the inverted golden pyramid. You will be stopped by security. Select the “Run” option and you will get away, earning this achievement.

Coup-Coup Clockwork

Complete a conspiratorial plot to overthrow another conspiracy without being killed
After you successfully infiltrate the G8 meeting, you will wind up stuck in a room with five guards. You have to get past the guards safely on your first attempt. To do this, switch to Sybil and us the phone in your inventory to detonate the bomb. Next, switch to Proto-J and mind control the guard facing right. Finally, switch to Karl and use your gun on one of the two remaining left-facing guards.

Distrust That Particular Flavor

Refuse to cut a deal with King Warren
Mutually exclusive with Atonement. After unlocking the garden of forking paths, you will be apprehended by some guards and you will be offered a deal. Your choice does not appear to matter, storywise, so you can select one, reload, and then select the other.

Atonement

Give yourself up to King Warren and let your family live ‘The Neofeudal Dream’
Mutually exclusive with Distrust that Particular Flavor. After unlocking the garden of forking paths, you will be apprehended by some guards and you will be offered a deal. Your choice does not appear to matter, storywise, so you can select one, reload, and then select the other.

No Flaws In Paradise

Don’t make a single mistake in the final Throneroom showdown scene
The “Final Throneroom Scene” starts once you have recovered a body from the upper throne room and tried to descend into the lower throne room on the elevator. You will see a short sequence involving Proto-J and his creator. Once you have regained control,

  • EXAMINE the figure on the throne and its heart,
  • EXAMINE the gun-toting terminator figure towards the left of the screen,
  • TALK to Sybil and ask her to order the soldier to stand down,
  • USE your knife on the heart,
  • USE your gun on the guard that approaches from the right (you have a short window of time to do this),
  • TALK to Proto-J and ask him to do a big push.
  • and finally TALK to Sybil and tell her to use the item she is holding.
