The Hayseed Knight Guide

The Hayseed Knight Achievements Guide for The Hayseed Knight

The Hayseed Knight Achievements Guide

Overview

A list of tiered hints to become a 100 % certified hero!

Prelude

Rest your weary head, traveller, and let us untangle the strands of fate which have drawn you to this place, for I sense you are in need of guidance. If it be “achievements” you seek, your hooves have served you well to carry you here…

For this is, indeed, the achievements guide for The Hayseed Knight!

Within, you shall find both helpful advice and dread spoilers, shrouded in darkness so as to spare your wretched eyes. For a tale not truly experienced on your own is a tale undone at the seams!

Ok, I’ll stop trying to be cute for a second to explain how this’ll work: I have prepared (up to) three tiers of hints for each achievement, so you can decide yourself if you’d rather read a cryptic hint or get the full-on “these are the choices you need to make” experience (on tier 3).

Please keep in mind that most of these achievements are not hard to get, so I’d strongly recommend playing the game a few times to uncover all the little dialogue changes and different scenes yourself – you can always use this guide to reach the last few achievements you just can’t seem to find.

By the way: Many interesting scenes and character moments aren’t even tied to achievements at all, so don’t think you’ll see all the game has in store for you simply by following this guide.

The Hero’s Journey

Horns Become Her
– Every journey starts with a single step…
Complete Chapter 1 – it’s really as easy as that!

Left You Hanging!
– …and then some more steps…
Just complete Chapter 2 now.

Lying Beast
– …and it sorta goes on like that…
Heroically complete Chapter 3.

One Punch Stag
– Be calm before the storm.
There are two ways to defeat your enemy in the fight sequence and one of them might be a bit anticlimactic.
Not my fault ➤ Play it cool ➤ RUN ➤ Come up with an excuse! ➤ …I ran through a wall! ➤ What’s wrong? ➤ Honor ➤ Charge! ➤ Now what??? ➤ Think it over! ➤ Victory ➤ Wait! ➤ Wait!

Just Gals Being Pals
– Sometimes it’s worth keeping your nose out of trouble.
Where would these gal pals be able to meet without Ader being able to interfere?
But the beast… ➤ Take her hand ➤ RUN ➤ Come up with an excuse! ➤ …I saw a beast! ➤ What’s wrong? ➤ Honor ➤ Charge! ➤ Now what??? ➤ Think it over! ➤ Victory ➤ Wait! ➤ Wait! ➤ Well, if you insist ➤ NICE PLACE ➤ N-NO, MY QUEEN ➤ Find a cure ➤ Oh, she wouldn’t… ➤ Pants ➤ Heart ➤ Blush ➤ Pry ➤ Follow Gyof ➤ Keep looking ➤ Keep a promise for once ➤ Insult her ➤ Okay…?

Nosy
– Persistence pays off.
All you need to do here is play through all of the diary memories in chapter 3.
The achievement should unlock once you leave the diary for good, with all 31 gazes unlocked. At the end of each memory sequence, you’ll find 2 paths to choose from, which will lead to different follow-up gazes. Some of these paths are locked and require you to have seen another gaze before they open up. I’m not sure whether pathways unlock in response to seeing specific gazes or as a response to accumulating a specific total number of gazes. Don’t worry: After a while, the game will give you hints on which pathways have opened up.

Mind Your Own Business
– When you’re at your lowest, you will finally understand.
If Ader can read gazes, who would he most likely use that ability on? And when would they have a private moment?
But the beast… ➤ Take her hand ➤ RUN ➤ Come up with an excuse! ➤ …I saw a beast! ➤ Are you scared? ➤ Honor ➤ Wait! ➤ Wait! ➤ Think it over! ➤ Victory ➤ Wait! ➤ Grapple him! ➤ Taunt him! ➤ I’M ADER ➤ Do queens say “I’m queen”? ➤ Find a cure ➤ Heart ➤ Blush ➤ Pants ➤ Comfort him ➤ Stay with Ader ➤ Break into Ader’s cell ➤ Indulge him ➤ An Insult

Too Much Information
– In order to tell on someone, you first need to know their secrets.
Get to the scene where a distraught Gyof asks you for information. Then think about who could possibly give you the information he requires.
Not my fault ➤ Play it cool ➤ RUN ➤ Distract him! ➤ …I saw a gazelle! ➤ Are you scared? ➤ Honor ➤ Wait! ➤ Wait! ➤ Think it over ➤ Victory ➤ Wait! ➤ Wait! ➤ Well, if you insist ➤ I’M ADER ➤ N-NO, MY QUEEN ➤ Find a cure ➤ Blush ➤ Heart ➤ Pants ➤ Pry ➤ Follow Gyof ➤ Keep looking

Puppy Love
– Some people just need a push in the right direction.
You know Eina is never going to act on her feelings, but she’s definitely ready to fight for something she’s afraid to lose.
But the beast… ➤ Play it cool ➤ RUN ➤ Distract him! ➤ …I saw a gazelle! ➤ Are you scared? ➤ Honor ➤ Charge! ➤ Now what??? ➤ Think it over! ➤ Victory ➤ Wait! ➤ Grapple him! ➤ Taunt him ➤ Well, if you insist ➤ NICE PLACE ➤ Do queens say “I’m queen”? ➤ Find a cure ➤ Oh, she wouldn’t… ➤ Blush ➤ Heart ➤ Pants ➤ Comfort him ➤ Follow Gyof ➤ Keep looking ➤ Break into Ader’s cell ➤ KISS HIM

It’s All About That Bass
– Drawing too much attention to it would be a biiig mista…. err, I mean… a grave mistake!
I guess you’ve already gathered that Sep is really self-conscious about that one part of her body. Why not point it out to her every chance you get?
Sorry… ➤ Play it cool ➤ RUN ➤ Come up with an excuse! ➤ …I saw a gazelle! ➤ Are you scared? ➤ Honor ➤ Wait! ➤ Wait! ➤ Think it over! ➤ Victory ➤ Wait! ➤ Wait! ➤ Well, if you insist ➤ NICE PLACE ➤ N-NO, MY QUEEN ➤ Get him better food ➤ Take a sip ➤ Comfort him ➤ Follow Gyof ➤ Keep looking ➤ Keep a promise for once ➤ Insult her butt ➤ Okay…?
NOTE: This achievement unlocks at some point between making the last choice in the sequence outlined above and reaching the Diary segment in Chapter 3. So don’t worry if it doesn’t unlock immediately – just keep on playing for a bit after the “Okay…?” choice. Thanks to *<:) party hat for pointing this out!

Notes

I got some of these achievements simply playing through the game, not taking any notes because I wasn’t planning on making a guide originally. Some I got later via deduction and one of them I got only after meticulously trying out every possible combination of choices.

That means that there may be mistakes in this guide. And it means that the “tier 3” hints only represent the paths I chose to get to the achievements. It’s entirely possible that you can mix up your choices a little bit as long as you make certain key decisions.

If you find any mistakes and/or don’t get an achievement after following this guide, comment below and I’ll try to figure out where I messed up.
