101 Ways to Die
Experience all the “losing” endings of the game
There are many ways your journey can end prematurely throughout the coarse of the game, and every time you do so a steam message will pop up telling you how close you are getting the achievement. You do not actually have to die 101 different times, but you should always keep a mind on this list so you can get this achievement during your first playthrough.

Stash the body
Find a quiet place for Tyler to rest
When you first enter Tyler’s compartment and find his body on the floor, click on the sofa to make the bed and then hide him inside the bed instead of throwing him out the window. Doing so will avoid a police inspection later on as the body will be found if you throw it out the window. It’s therefore recommended to do this first, and then rewind the clock to throw him out of the window as you are required to get caught by the police investigating for the 101 Ways to die achievement.
Short trip for Tyler
Tyler’s ready to leave the train
When you first enter Tyler’s compartment and find his body on the floor, open the window and throw him out.
The Black Hand
Meet Milos in your compartment
During the first night you will eventually be asked by one of the conductors for a meeting with his excellency. After that the conductors will start doing their rounds making the beds for the night. Around this time enter your own cabin and Milos will be waiting for you. (This achievement is basically unmissable, as he will be waiting for you the rest of the evening)
Cath’s dream
You can’t stay awake forever
This achievement is unmissable and will be unlocked when you sleep for the first time
Sweet dreams!
Catch the beetle
Catch a bettle in the smoking car
After the first night you will eventually hear little Francois talking about how he found a beetle on the train but lost it. If you then go to the smoking car and sit by your usual place near the clock, you will see the little bugger scurrying about on the table. Use your matchbook to try and catch it. You might have to wait until it’s in the middle of the table then quickly click on it several times before you catch it.
Secret Diary
Read a young lady’s intimate journal
The Diary is inside compartment E which belongs to Sophia and Rebecca. Since they usually don’t lock the door while going to the restaurant or the smoking car it’s often easy to slip in while they’re away. Sometimes Sophie takes her Diary with her, but if not then it can be found inside their travelling bag. A good time to get it is during the second day on the way to Vienna when they go for lunch.
Russian Ballet
Find a souvenir of Tatiana’s happier days
During the concert on the way to Vienna, you will get a chance to obtain the Master Key by sneaking into compartment E and going out the window to reach compartment F. Inside, check the jewelry box for a hidden room where the key lies. After finding the key you can gain entrance to Tatiana room which is compartment B. Inside check her travelling bag and look at a picture.
French Postcards
Find someone’s stash of racy postcards
August Schmidt will also be absent during the concert, and since you have the key you are free to sneak in and snoop at your heart’s content. Inside check his travelling baggage and easily spot a set of revealing pictures which will unlock the achievement.
August’s Letter
Read August’s secret correspondence
In the same location as the French postcards there will also be a letter, read it and the achievement will unlock.
Kronos’s papers
Read Kronos’s private papers
The Master Key does not only open compartments. It also opens the side door between the sleeping car and Kronos’ car giving you the option to ascend the ladder to the roof of the train! From there traverse forward and you will find a part of the roof made of glass. Break it down and you will jump down to Kronos’ private chambers. From there look at the nightstand by his bed and you will find a bunch of documents. Read them and the achievement will unlock.
Steal the gold
“Borrow” Kronos’s briefcase
Also inside Kronos’ private chambers, look closely at the painting on the wall. There should be a hidden button to the left which opens a secret room in the wall revealing the briefcase . After picking it up, exit the car through the concert area and the achievement will unlock.
Take the money and run
Get off with the gold in Vienna
There are a few things that must be done to unlock this achievement. First of all you must take the briefcase with gold from Kronos’ private chambers. After the concert you must make sure Kronos receives the Firebird relic by giving it to him directly or leaving it in your room for his servant Kahina to find it. Lastly show August Schmidt the briefcase of gold to make sure he stays on the train. When you then finally reach Vienna, Robert will bail the train and take the gold for himself.
Get Anna alone
If you like her, don’t be shy
After the ordeal with the bomb on the way to Belgrade. You will be asked by Abbot to have a drink with him in the smoking car. Anna will be there as well having a sip of Vodka. Firstly have that talk with Abbot, and as the conversation is concluding, Anna will leave giving you the option to follow her. Do so and be persistent until she enters her compartment. Knock on her door and enter.
One-way ticket
Arrive in Constantinople
This achievement will unlock automatically if you can make it all the way to Constantinople.
Good luck!
