The / slash commands

There's basically two things to really know before jumping into typing commands in the chat window.

• First: all commands start with a forward slash
  
• Second: Some commands need to be followed by the number 1 to activate and followed by the number 0 to deactivate.

I've listed all the commands in the last too topics for this guide. Have fun with it and be sure to post a comment if you'd like to share some cool secrets too.

Start with something easy. Type /credits

You'll see all the people involved in making Neverwinter. Congratulations if this was the first command you ever typed. Fun, right?

One really neat feature is using the Function keys (F1, F2, ... , F11, F12) to activate a command you want to use. Here's one example on how to bind Follow to the F3 key.

My favorite is the Follow command. Sometimes when I'm following someone their mount may be slower than mine and it helps to just Follow them. Here's how I bind Follow to my F3 key.

• /bind F3 Follow

Now, when ever my retical is on a player, NPC, or even my companion I'll just press F3 and begin to follow them.

SAVING YOUR BINDS

After a while, it becomes very tidious to reenter all your bindings, so there's a way to save it to a file and always have it ready for what ever character you will be playing.

• /bind_save_file 1

Now, whenever you log on to the game all your bindings are ready to go!

Sometimes it helps to see what's going on with the network connection to determine if it's your computer or the network connection causing the problems.

The most common used command allows you to see the Ping. Ping counts the time in miliseconds for your computer to contact their game servers. It shows a Send and Receive time as well. To bring up the ping type the following.

• Turns on: /netgraph 1
  
• Turns off: /netgraph 0

Another neat little command for seeing network connectivity is the netTimingGraph command. Be warned with this command because it covers part of your screen and looks like you've made a mess. However, even though your chat window may be overlayed with a graph you can still type.

• Turns on: /netTimingGraph 1
  
• Turns off: /netTimingGraph 0

There's two commands to list all the available commands.

• /cmdlist (Results too large to put in this guide)
  
• /cmds 1 (Results listed below)

The first command doesn't need a parameter, but the second one does. I think they are the same command.
