Ever wondered how to solo nms maps, well here are some little tips for nms midwest
Introduction
Now, you might be astonished about how am i gonna complete this survival map on my own. There are some tips and tricks about how to solo it on your own. I know it might be not easy to do it on other maps and certainly because you might get stuck at wave 8 flooding you over with Z’s or you don’t have enough ammo. There’s always a problem when trying to play survival maps out. But luckily some maps are different. Read further and don’t even try to hesitate taking a pause. My example given is about the map nms_midwest
# Trick 1: Gun store locker
Now the first step is based on how to get healthy to the gun store locker and loot it so you can use it upon the streets. A way to get to the lockers is to use the can first at the back of the bar to some wooden construction. After that you want to look for the welder that might spawn in the bar behind the desk where the liquor is stored. There’s a little shelf with a welder normally spawned on it.
Go back to the construction and weld (right click) the can. After that you want to go to the shop (use C to check for zones) and go at the back where an extinguisher is located. Now you want to go to the construction and extinguish the fire. Lastly you want to look for the key that’s located there and go to the gun store and use it on the locker in the left corner at the back.
Enjoy and make sure you hoard everything to the spot shown in the picture.
# Trick 2: Flare gun madness
Ever wondered how to get the flare gun, well it’s quite easy, you just keep restarting untill you finally find the flare gun in nms_midwest. I wouldn’t recommend this trick since it’s quite lazy, but if you don’t want to wait all along and you don’t have enough ammo (with the ammo from the gun store locker), then this might be the way to go.
General Tips and Tricks
#0: The crossroad system: This concept is based upon having a way where the zone is only enterable at these specific spots and you’ll be able to manipulate the zombies going through the other way by standing in the middle of these 2 zones or at the corner of a zone attracting them in a certain radius whilst they will not be able to overflood the zone.
#1: Keep the zombie wave count always at 6 or 7 if you want to go to look for ammo
#2: Keep Barricading your zones (this way you’ll have more time to look for ammo and zombies will have to destroy them at a slow rate)
#3: Don’t use ammo before wave 4 – 6 depending on the situation -> explanation: this is to prevent you from running out of ammo way to early when you would really need it later on.
#4: Use the Fuel cans to your advantage in a strategic way to save ammo.
#5: Use the train caboose to your advantage when using fire (molotovs or fuel cans).
#6: Never, but never waste ammo
#7: Use heavy melee to clear waves
#8: Use light melee to kill runners, children
Difference between heavy and light melee can be seen by pressing 1, if it almost presents a half of your inventory then it’s probably heavy and if it doesn’t well i guess you could see it as medium or light, but that difference is only necessarily for objective.
#9: be prepared by wave 4 so you don’t have to search for to many stuff you might need later on.
-> looking for stuff behind that is ok, but looking for it for ages is not.
#10: Crouch or duck (Control key) for more stamina regen -> not recommended while being chased by runners
#11: Kill the fast zombies first then make sure the slow ones line up so you can kill them with a fire can.
#12: On the other hand killing the slower zombies will make it easier to let the faster ones follow you so you can collect ammo and guns easily.
#13: Don’t try this guide with cheats on (Unlimited ammo, Noclip, Sv_Cheats 1), cause that would make this whole guide pointless.
#14: Don’t forget to breathe while playing

Other map spots, tricks and zombies getting stuck
Campblood zone B
Description: Just stick out zone B at the lantern and don’t camp inside the zone area (Zone B of course). Use a heavy melee (Sledge, Pickaxe, Fireaxe paired with a gun) and use the fuel cans to ur advantage. Try to sack the other zones whilst Hoarding ammo to ur zone. You can also use a weak melee like the kitchen knife for kids or a machete.
Personal Difficulty: 2/10

Campblood zone C
Description: Head out to zone C and sack the other zones. You should kinda do the same as in the previous and never actually enter the Zone itself only for hoarding purposes or for killing of the invading zombies. (Sledge or pickaxe recommended and weak melee to battle up with the kids. Use the fuel cans to ur advantage (pro tip) !
Personal Difficulty: 4/10
Northway zone B
Description: let the other zones sack except for your zone and hoard asap, sort as shown in the pictures. Finding the welder in the underground garage is needed in order to save u a lot of time later on but it is not required.
Personal Difficulty: 6/10

Arpley
Description: Board the way up at the opposite side of the poolhouse (the side of the independant house and the courtyard) Hoard all areas and bring it to the bridge. Always kill the side of the courtyard first and return to the poolhouse back again whenever the zone is threatened.
Don’t forget to always barricade the side of the courtyard which is key in completing this level.
Personal Difficulty: 8/10

Isolated zone B
Description: Hoard everything as soon as possible and bring it upside zone B at the tv room
Use zone A as a backup zone and always barricade the access to the basement.
Personal Difficulty: 9/10
Other: I suggest trying to evade to defend Zone C cause when you die there, it’s nearly impossible to get back at your zone cause the house is flooded with z’s

Favela zone A (nearly impossible without flare gun and Chainsaw on Zone A)
Description: easier to solo at B, forget about zone A
Difficulty: 9.5/10

Silence
Description: Very hard, would not recommend to do solo since zombies come from everywhere, playing this will give you a headache.
Personal difficulty: 10/10 (since surviving barely with almost no hp and the zone being at 6%)
