Overview
I made this guide to give you the basics of space engineers so you can start makin’ things!
Creating your world!
First Click | New game > Custom Game >
Scroll down the list of maps on the left until you get to Lone Survivor
Name your world
Skip description
Gamemode = Survival
Online mode = Offline (Freinds if you want to start out with someone else on steam (They join you through the steam interface (Shift + Tab)))
Then click advanced:
Scroll down and try to find Random Encounters and Drones, tick these.
Then click OK
and Start!
What it all means.
Basic Maneuvering
WASD = move: W = Forward, A = left, D = right, S = back
Space = up/jump
X = Jet-pack On/Off
Z = Jet-pack Dampeners (When they are off you move eternally in the last direction you moved in because there is almost no friction in space.)
Q and E = Rolling (Do a barrel roll!)
C = Down
Now you can travel anywhere, as long as your suit has power.

Just follow along step by step and you’ll know how to make your stuff!
Head toward the uranium reactor:
Press F on it to bring up the storage inside of the reactor.
You should see this to the right:
Those black french fries are uranium, and at the beginning you won’t have much. Once they run out the ship wont have power, so lets get looking.
You can press 1 to 9 on your keyboard to select items
Press 3 to get your drill, your going to need it.
Press L to turn on your flashlight and start flying around the asteroid looking for:
…it wont be easy, unless your lucky
Use the clicky thing on your mouse to mine out the uranium.
I recommend mining like this to prevent the uranium ore from flying out into space:
Hold F on the uranium eggs that come out of the deposit to pick them up into your inventory.
Also while you are here go and mine out some iron too, around 30 rocks worth.
Once you think you have around 20 rocks go back to your station.
And look for:
Press F on it just like you did with the reactor
Now double click on:
from your inventory
and it will go into the refinery, which will turn it into black french fries.
Also put your iron in there too.
Once its all done, drag all of the ingots back into your inventory.
then press esc
And put the uranium ingots into the uranium reactor and you have yourself some extra energy! for a while
Now go into the thing below the refinery, its called an assembler.
Now click Production, its one of the tabs up the top.
Now look for Steel plate
and hold CTRL and click it a couple times.
CTRL = craft 10
SHIFT = craft 100
just a click = 1
Press G
This opens your building menu where you can place components.
Search in the top right of the window
“light armor block”
Drag the block from the window into your toolbar
Now press the number on your toolbar it says the armor block is on
and place it down
you created this with those steel plates you made!
Now press 1 to get out your welder and hold it on the frame to upgrade it to MAX POTENCIAL!
When you hold your mouse over a block in the G menu it shows you what you need to craft it.
you can find silicon, iron, uranium etc on all asteroids.
and then your done.
