Beginner Tips
– Steel swords for human enemies and silver for monsters.
– Igni is incredibly overpowered. The best sign in the game easily.
– Aard can allow for a one hit kill on boss of Chapter 1.
– Make sure to get the Aerondight and Raven’s Armor.
– Swallows are one of the best potions in the game due to healing so much and should be held onto for the toughest fights.
– Best leveling area is in Chapter 3 where you fight the Cockatrices in the wolf cave from the swamp. Each one you defeat gives 700+ EXP.
– Track quests by going to the journal and selecting track this quest.
– Do the quest Dead Hand of the Past Leuvardeen gives in the Inn during Chapter 1. It’s an incredibly interesting sidequest where you get to speak to one of the ultimate bad guys of the entire Witcher series.
– CTRL+Click allows you to automatically loot everything a plant or corpse has very fast.
– There are three sides in the game. Two of them are very obvious, but there’s a third. To choose the third route or side rather in the game at the end of Chapter 4 when a massacre is about to happen choose to leave and not get involved.
– If you cannot find a NPC try meditating at a campfire to a different point of the day and see if they appear where they are supposed to.
– Choosing the fast style for silver or steel sword will allow Geralt to run faster then usual.
– During Chapter 5 DO NOT KILL The Striga. Hide in a spot where she can’t get you and just wait for the candles to go out. Not killing her rewards you with one of the best steel swords in the game called D’Yabel.
Fastest way to get through Chapter 2 without falsely accusing anyone is:
To get to the point where Raymond asks for a autospy. Once he does you need to prove Thaler’s innocence. Meet a mysterious man(Name of NPC you need to meet) by sleeping til dusk and waiting near Thaler’s house. He’ll eventually appear. Speak to him and then go inside and speak to Thaler. Speak with him again and keep exhausting all the options, but make sure to say you believe him. Eventually, Geralt will explain he encountered the mysterious man Thaler is meeting with and his innocence will be proven. Tell Thaler he is innocent. Now go and rest until noon. Head to the graveyard and speak with the Gravedigger. Ask how to get inside and he’ll mention a debt he has. Thaler can clear that debt fortunately. Return to Thaler and ask Thaler to clear his debt. Now head back to the Gravedigger and tell him his debt his clear. You’ll gain the key to the graveyard. Enter the Crypt and break down a wall to find Raymond’s corpse and a bunch of monsters. Defeat them all and examine his corpse. Geralt will discover Azar was disguising himself as Raymond and that will clear everyone of being falsely accused. Return to Kalkstein tell him he’s innocent. He will advise leading Raymond who is really a disguised Azar Javed into a trap at the tower in the swamp. Exit then go to Raymond. Tell Raymond the autospy was inconclusive and you couldn’t come to a conclusion. Leave and then re-enter Raymond’s place. Speak with him and he’ll believe Ramsmeat did it and ask you to kill him. Agree, but then exit and re-enter again. Speak with Raymond and lie about killing Ramsmeat. From there, Raymond will go to the tower and give you a sephirot stone. Collect the ten stones to get into the tower and then speak to Raymond outside the tower and fight the boss of chapter 2.
How to solve Chapter 4 and fulfill the Lady of the Lake’s request:
Go meet the Lady of the Lake at Black Tern Isle. Tell her about the conflict and disagreements between the humans and Vodyanoi. She’ll ask for you to get two objects and one from each side. So speak to the Vodyanoi Priest near the statue and get the Gold Bracelet. Then from Julian get the Alabaster figure. Bring them both to the Lady of the Lake and then continue on and eventually she’ll give you a diamond to summon Dagon. Fight him and you’ll eventually get the Aerondight after the quest The Paths of Destiny.
