Tips and tricks that will make you a better player.
Why I Wrote This Guide
I honestly wrote this guide to help others and purely because I have nothing to do.
[Tip] Minimizing the Deaths from Grenades (And Watching Those Wrist Rockets)
When your opponent throws a grenade at you (audio queue is sometimes played: “Grenade, get down!”) , a quick escape is to roll forward, or to the left or right.
To roll, press A, W, or D, followed by the ALT key. Rolling backwards won’t work.
“Watch those wrist rockets!”
Surviving wrist rockets use the same strategy as the grenade described above, you will just have less time to react.
[Tip] Zooming in
To zoom in while holding a blaster, or sniper rifle, press down on the SCROLL WHEEL to zoom in. This will help you be more accurate.
[Trick] Repair Your Vehicle at Your Team’s Command Post
Park your vehicle near a command post and exit it. Go to the command post and switch your class to the Rebel/Imperial/Droid/Clone Enginer. Switch to your fusion cutter (default is MOUSE WHEEL DOWN) and hold the LEFT MOUSE BUTTON to repair the vehicle. When you are done, feel free to switch back to your original class and mount your vehicle again.
[Tip] Get Troops to Follow You
A very useful thing to do is to get your troops to fight with you. Walk up to one of your troops on your team, and press the F4 key. Highlight the ally again and press F4 to tell it to disband.
Your rank will determine how many troops you can command to fight with you:
You can earn medals by doing certain feats (see How to get medals)
[Trick] How to Get Medals
Gunslinger
This medal is received by scoring 6 kills with a pistol without dying. For winning this medal at the Veteran rank or above, you get a precision pistol. The Elite Medal Rank reduces the requirements of Gunslinger to 4 kills with a pistol without dying. This weapon has ammo and clip limits, but also is more powerful than the conventional pistol, does not overheat, and has a scope.
Frenzy
This medal is given to those who score 12 kills with a blaster rifle without dying. For winning this medal at the Veteran rank or above, you get an elite assault rifle. The Elite Medal Rank reduces the requirements of Frenzy to 9 kills with a blaster rifle without dying. This advanced weapon comes with less ammunition than the conventional rifle, but fires burst shots of 3 rounds each and is significantly more powerful. One-shot kills can be achieved very easily with this weapon.
Demolition
This medal is awarded to those who score 4 critical hits on vehicles in a life. For receiving this medal at the Veteran rank or above, you get a remote rocket launcher. The rockets fired from this weapon can be individually guided to hit targets. Also, unlike the other reward weapons that replace their mundane counterparts once obtained, this weapon will be available along with the regular rocket launcher.
To find the critical hit area, hover your crosshair over the vehicle. After a few seconds, a second crosshair will appear, marking the critical hit area. For a complete list of these spots, refer to Star Wars: Battlefront II/Vehicles[strategywiki.org].
Technician
This medal is won by slicing into a vehicle. To those who earn this medal at the Veteran rank or above, Vehicle Regeneration is given. This gradually increases the health of all friendly vehicles on the battlefield.
Marksman
This medal is achieved by scoring 6 headshots with a sniper rifle without dying. For winning this medal at the Veteran rank or above, you get a particle beam rifle. This is just as accurate as its counterpart, but more powerful.
This rifle, though more powerful, cannot zoom as far as the original rifle (it only offers one level of zoom, in contrast to the two levels of the original). Also, this weapon tends to give away the location of the sniper more easily due to its bright, thick beam. It also has shorter range, making it seem like the beam goes right through the enemy, not harming it at all.
Regulator
This medal is won by scoring 8 kills with a shotgun in a life. The Elite Medal Rank reduces the requirements of Regulator to 6 kills with a shotgun without dying. Achieving this at the Veteran rank or above earns you the flechette shotgun. This is simply a more powerful version of the regular shotgun.
Endurance
Get this medal by scoring 12 points in one life. The Elite Medal Rank reduces the requirements of Endurance to 9 points in one life. The award you get for this medal is Energy Regeneration. Once attained, your stamina bar will recover faster than usual.
Guardian
This medal is awarded when you score 24 points in one life. The Elite Medal Rank reduces the requirements of Guardian to 18 points in one life. The award for this medal is Damage Reduction. This decreases any damage you take by 50%.
War Hero
This medal is won by gaining 36 points in one life. The Elite Medal Rank reduces the requirements of War Hero to 27 points in one life. The award is the Increased Damage bonus, which increases the damage you deal by 50%. (Strategy Wiki[strategywiki.org])
[Tip] How to Use Mines And How to Destroy Them
The heavy classes will be able to plant mines if the opposite team touches them. Mines should be placed in narrow corridors or hallways to maximize efficiently.
Mines can be destroyed by exploding them with a rocket, grenade, or detpack.
[Glitch] Space Battle Bot Suicide
Whenever you land your ship and a bot decides to stay in the ship, it will most likely attempt to fly the ship and instead crash into the wall, losing your sweet ride. To avoid this, when entering hangers, turn the ship around so its facing the exit. The ship won’t explode, but if there is, again, a bot in the ship, it will attempt to fly out, so you will lose your ship either way.
[Bonus] How to Use Cheats
There are some singleplayer cheats that can be used to have fun. These won’t work with Multiplayer or the Campain Mode, Only Instant Action.
To enter cheats, hover your mouse over this area (shown below and type in the cheat listed:
Cheats:
agoodblasteratyourside — Infinite Ammunition
