Additionally, the murdering sex-trafficker that gives you a ticket for a strip club is good to go as well, so if you don't mind waking up to dead strippers in the news feel free to let him in without a second thought.

Messof Anegovych on Day 12 asks that you give business cards to anyone who's entering as an engineer. While this side-quest is active all engineers are cleared for entry and have no discrepancies.

(UPDATE: Maybe this is not the case, in a recent playthrough I instantly approved an engineer only to get fined for their answer as to how long they plan to stay not lining up. This doesn't mean they weren't allowed entry but it needed to be clarified. Keep this in mind before you stamp them).

Here's a little trick you can use to save money over time. Alternate between buying only food, and then buying heating and medicine. At first this seems stupid but overtime if you mind your pennies, they turn into pounds.

Your schedule should look like this;

1. Food
   
2. Heating + Medicine
   
3. Food
   
4. Heating + Medicine
   
5. Etc, etc.

Buying medicine for your son every other day is mathematically better than buying food and heating every day. So don't be afraid to put his life on the line in the name of sweet dosh that can be spent on keyboard shortcuts and nicer apartments.

Until you reach the point where you need to fill out a reason for denial stamp, don't interrogate, just deny. If a new rule is introduced, the first person in your booth will always demonstrate that rule, so when a new permit is introduced, always accept the first entrant.

On day 4, the fifth entrant is always a woman who is looking forward to seeing her son. She is not cleared for entry.

On day 5, the husband who says his wife is waiting behind him in-line is always approved for entry. His wife always has issues with her documents that means she should be denied.

Corman Drex is always approved for entry and if you don't give them the paper the first time they enter the country, another Corman Drex will turn up the next day and demand the paper. Unless you're a diehard Ezic member, refuse to give the paper the first time so you get them again and you don't need to waste time checking their paperwork.

If you catch a discrepancy and then clarify the information with the person, that does not mean they're now approved for entry. Some people have multiple discrepancies to their name.

However if using the scanner you get the message "Discrepancy Cleared", then you know for a fact there's nothing else wrong with them and they're cleared for entry.



(Little side note: name changes use to trip me up. I now know the way to resolve this is check the fingerprints on file and see if they have an alias on them. If they have no alias on file, it's an instant deny).

When you first start playing, do NOT detain anyone, for any reason. It's a waste of your precious time and there's no bonus for doing so.

However, when one of your fellow guards comes up to you and asks you to detain people in exchange for some cash on the side; go crazy. Detain no matter how stupid it is. The only person exempt from this is "Shae Piersovska" who is a friend of your boss. Detain her and the next morning you'll wake up to false theft allegations and be sent straight to jail.
