THIS GUIDE TO HELP OUT NEW AND OLD PLAYERSGOODLUCK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
STARTING OUT
But it doesn’t incorporate all tips and all tricks, many more are scattered throughout the wiki.
The tip about the memory game is a good one if you’re completely new to the game.
My personal suggestion is to get islands and easy Wublins asap, so that you can increase your diamond income. That’ll allow you to upgrade your Breeding Structure / Nursery sooner, which makes breeding/hatching faster, allowing you to earn more coins earlier on in the game. You’ll also need diamonds to completely upgrade castles (which increases the number of beds and thus the number of monsters you can have).
As far as Wublins go.. even if you can’t wake them up yet (say they need Monsters from an Island you don’t have yet), they can still be worth purchasing so that you can discard unwanted eggs into them, instead of letting them take up space in your Nurseries.
— edit start (completely forgot about this) —
If you can afford it, or your parent(s)/guardian(s) can afford it / will allow it – consider a pack (any, if I recall correctly). It’s a relatively low cost item (especially if you plan on sinking hours and hours into this game), that will unlock a few perks; You can have 2 Breeding Structures per island, you can have 2 Nurseries per island, you can upgrade the Mini Mine (which produces diamonds) on Plant Island to a Maximum Mine, producing not 1, but 2 Diamonds/day. It also gets rid of force ads (worth it for that alone, I say)
The extra Breeding Structure/Nursery per island comes in extremely useful when you’re trying to wake up Wublins, especially ones that need a bunch of four-element Monsters
When you do go to wake up Wublins, breed the most difficult Wublins first on any island that produces the, and have them ready to be ‘zapped’. You can then zap them in quick succession without losing a lot of time on the countdown timer of the Wublin.
Strategies for each Wublin is noted in their respective Wiki page. — edit end —
Some items are unavailable until you reach a certain level. Follow the natural flow of the game as much as possible and you should unlock early islands and such just fine. Beyond that, if you wanted to level up faster, you can place/sell/place/sell/place/sell structures (you do lose Coins doing this) to gain XP fairly quickly.
The tip noted in that page about two monsters being better than one tackles, to an extent, your “How much should I spend on upgrading monsters” question. If you’re completely new, don’t level up the basic monsters (single element, or even double element) beyond level 4. At level 4 you can start breeding them together, and they have very low ‘maximum coins’ levels, meaning that for a good amount of time between you checking the game, they’re not producing any coins. Aim no higher than level 10 for the 3+ element monsters, and save food for other monsters you’d want to level up instead.
In terms of Food/Treats, you’ll be early on in the game, and possibly playing often. Instead of trying to bake a Cake and waiting 2 days, consider baking Pizza (6 hours) or Pie (12 hours) instead. They produce less Food per hour, but the food produced will be available sooner, which means you can feed monsters, which will generate an increased amount of coins, which you can then use to start baking more Food, etc. The amount of Food per Coin is the same no matter what you bake.
As soon as you are able to, buy a Unity Tree for your Islands. This allows Monsters’ happiness to increase even if the Monsters/Decorations they like are nowhere near them.
Buy the cheap items that Monsters like. That’ll be most of them, early on. The later monsters start liking things that take 25,000,000 Coins. Don’t worry about those in the beginning.
There’s lots more, but I think one more tip is… figure out what it is that you want to get out of this game. Do you just want to become a top player, or do you want to have fun playing it? A lot of the strategies that could make you a top player could also make for boring gameplay depending on your interests.
