Overview

Basic Controls and Gameplay
Goals
1. Zap everything with a laser
2. Avoid colliding with anything.
Controls
- move avatars with thumbsticks
- LB/LT and RB/RT create a laser connection (blue/orange)
- if one avatar is dead, create a short laser by moving its stick. The buttons don’t do anything in this case.
Warning: while WASD and Arrow Keys do stuff, they’re seriously buggy and won’t be fun to play
Zapping
Zap blue stuff with the blue laser, orange stuff with the orange one. White and green stuff can be zapped with either laser beam. If your avatars are too far apart, you can’t connect them with a laser.
Reviving
This is probably the most important part and a bit tricky: If one of your guys is dead, a special enemy (a green circle) will appear. If you zap it with a laser, you can bring your dead guy back. Do not run into it! Instead, move close, then move the stick of the dead guy in its direction.
Once you can do this somewhat consistently, the game becomes a lot easier.
Good to Know
- If you touch the edges, you teleport to the opposite side
- A good strategy for beginners is to try to always keep the blue guy on the left of the orange guy and move them in the same directions (i.e. both up, both down)
- The white stuff are pick-ups. They either increase your score multiplier or give you more charges for the special abilities.
Co-op Tips
- if your friend has you tied down with his laser and you want to break free, just briefly tap your laser button and let go. that will break the connection
- Co-op requires a lot of communication
Important technical Stuff
Frame-Rate
- The game is designed to run at locked 60fps. if it runs lower than that, weird stuff may happen
- use shift +f to show the current frame rate (the value takes a moment to stabilize)
Online
Steam should be in online mode, playing in offline mode might cause weird stuff to happen and your amazing high score won’t be uploaded to the Steam Leaderboards (these Leaderboards will disappear after the weekend, though, so you may wanna take a picture if you got a nice score)
Options Menu
Greyed out buttons currently do nothing. There’s a few settings you can already change, though, such as toggle flashing lights and rumble feedback, as well as disable the “try left stick”-help messages that come up in the game and a few other things.
Game Mode Rules
Arcade Mode
- Zap stuff to score, zap the white stuff to increase your multiplier and score more
- Each time one of your guys dies, your multiplier is reduced a bit
- There’s no limit to the number of times you can revive, but if both avatars are dead at the same itme, it’s Game Over
- You have a limited number of special abilities, shown in the center top of the HUD, but you can get more by picking up power-up items
Co-op Mode
- Each player controls one avatar
- Important: if you are dead, you can still play: move your stick to create the short laser while your partner moves the surviving avatar. They move, you zap.
- The more zaps you score without breaking the connection, the more points you score. Changing the laser color doesn’t break the connection
