TowerFall Ascension: Darkworld, Boss Staregies and tactical advantages

Overview

a comprehensive guide on the four darkworld bosses. i don’t have any towerfall pictures.

Wretched Seer

The Wretched Seer is the first Darkworld boss, at the end level of the Amaranth. He will spawn in the exact centre of the screen, and can move slightly in any direction throughout the fight. he has a shield, which rotates around him and will deflect your projectiles, and kill you if you touch it. The opposite side of the shield is his weak spot, and when you shoot him it will move to face you. he shoots slow moving eye projectiles at you, which you can dodge, shoot or stomp. The Wretched Seer also has four phases. the only difference between these phases is the amount of projectiles he shoots, and the last phase, where he shoots a beam similar to the King’s Court boss. when he shoots the lazer, it comes from the side where he is vulnerable, and then the shield changes direction.

Lady Abigail

Lady Abigail is the second Darkworld Boss. She hangs from the ceiling, and doesn’t move throughout the fight. She does, however, close and open her eyes, which is where you have to hit her. she summons massive root tendrils to stab upwards from the ground in the two outer thirds, and rains down slow moving roses that can be stomped or shot. the roses turn into thorn bushes when they hit the ground, an if you touch the thorns you will die. lady Abigail has three eyes, one on the left one in the middle, and one on the right. in three points throughout the fight she will shut down, and enemies will spawn. in the first two, the enemies are exploders, and if they get close to you they get bigger and explode. in the last wave, there are three exploders and one technomage, who flies around and shoots exploding missiles. when you kill him, he will fly around and the his body will explode.

The Blind Lich

The Blind Lich is the third boss in Darkworld. He is a goat skull, with a blind eye on top. He has two massive bricks, that he smashes on the walls, floor and ceiling. he also summons little phantoms, which do not target you. you can stomp or shoot these. you have to stomp or shoot his eye as well.
he has two waves where he spawns enemies. the are exploders, and similarly to lady abigail, the last wave contains a technomage. i have no idea how to explain this one, so please tell me how i can improve it.

Cataclysm

Cataclysm, the final boss. he is a mouth/eye ringed with crystals, who constantly shoots flame projectiles. in the level, there are six floating platforms you can use to your advantage, as platforms or shields.when he spawns, he summons three pylons. stomp or shoot all of these whilst dodging flame projectiles, and he will open his eye and shoot lazer arrows, which you need to collect to shoot at him to deal damage. you can also stomp him while his eye is open, but when it is closed you will be stabbed by crystals. once he hits half health, he closes his eye and summons five new pylons. once you kill these, he will open his eye again, and summon a spike wheel that rolls across the floor to stab you.
YOU MUST SAVE SOME ARROWS FOR THE FINAL STAGE
once he hits 0 health, he turns red, and shoots a two massive waves of projectiles to the sides, then to the diagonal downs, then one down, then another diagonal, then one down and one across the top. he then shoots a massive, continuous wave of projectiles in all directions, that move slowly and are fairly easy to doge if you move in small movements. after you’ve survived that, he does a similar attack but he also shoots missiles that explode when they hit the ground. running and dodging away from these is key. eventually, he will stop, and his heart will be exposed. USE THE ARROWS YOU SAVED TO SHOOT IT UNTIL IT DIES. this take quite a long time, nbut your arrows regenerate.
