Training your crew and how to do it.

Overview

This guide will teach you what you can use the Gym and Academy for in Pixel Starships, there importance, and how to effectively use them. That is essentially what this guide is going to teach you overall really noting special except a few tips here and there.

What is a crew member supposed to do in Pixel Starships also the gym and academy rooms

Your crew which you have provide a variety of roles aboard your ship which are listed as so:

  • Repairing vital rooms like your reactors, weapons, and shield rooms.
  • Improves the speed at which rooms may perform there designed duties like shields adding a shield barrier or the average weapon firing projectiles at your enemy.
  • They fight other enemy crew members who use the teleporter to get to your ship.

Point is your crew is vital in a way which may effect the tides of battle either you like it or you don’t like it. Now how can you improve your crews skills in a way that makes them better, stronger, faster, and genarally ready to fight to the end.

The Gym
One way is the gym at which point should be the first crew training method you stumble upon to. The Gym improves your crews physical attributes like health, damage, strength, speed, ability, and essentially other physical attributes. The point of using this room is to upgrade your crews physical skills which means its meant to make them stronger against enemy crew members in crew vs crew fights. The more health your crew member has the more they can hold a position for example one of your crew members can hold off a reactor room due to there high health and strength you gave them.
The way you should use the room is to increase your crew members physical abilities.
The Academy
As the name implies The Academy increases the crew members intelligence or skills on a certain point of objective. You can teach your crew member how to use weapons effectively and in turn of you training them this it will make them fire and handle weapons faster benefiting you by operation of your weapons firing faster than normal on your ship or in turns if you need a engineer you can train them how to repair engines and mechanical systems in turn for faster repairs of rooms and what not. The academy essentially supports you in the way in which it makes the crew better at doing there assigned duties so if one crew member is your gunner train them on weapons or if you have pilot then train them on the pilot field. Whatever duties you assign your crew member then improve upon those skills to maximize the effectiveness of that specific crew member. Now that you know

What can I do if one of my crew members has hit the max limit on one of there skills?

Now here is one of great benefits of having your training rooms on stand by. Once your crew member has a maximum skill level you can instantly increase the crew members skill level beyond its point. So if your evil general has 10/10 lets say endurance you can train your crew member to have a 12/12 maximum endurance once you train them on that same skill. This can help you if you really want to make your crew member a master at something for example you can change one crew members weapon skills from 10/10 to 50/50 if you have the training room for limits, more on that later, which hopefully you do because if you do then your crew member is going to certainly use that tiny mining drill and light the enemy ship up with a bunch of lasers I mean if you think about it. The faster you mobilize your weapons the faster you can knock out your enemy before they knock out you. Essentially your relying on speed of hitting the enemy hard before they hit you hard. At higher levels the smallest speed increase on weapons could be a matter of victory or defeat or having that endurance could be a matter if the enemy crew member can overwhelm you or not.

The Limits

Now since this all sounds amazing obviously the people over at SavySoda were all like:
“Hmm, yes people could abuse this system and just use the teleporters to obliterate the crew and blow up the ship” and some days that does happen to people on ships but getting the crew to those levels were amplified to be near impossible and you have had to dedicate your life to upgrading your crew.
The First Limit:
The first limit is something called training points:
Training points regulate how much you can train a crew member so you don’t make them exactly god scent and it sets a limit on how many times you can train that same crew member which is why you should prioritize the crew members assignment effectively.
The second limit
The second limit would be the fact of the crew member has to spend long hours or even an entire day to train for certain stats which means while there training they cannot operate anything leaving your rooms defenseless unless you have a complicated AI system to protect you that is. Also to note the training rooms have long upgrade times so you’ll have to wait a while in order to use new training methods.
The final limit
There is a max amount of crew you can recruit and the type of crew you can have deciding what you get from random recruiting if it’d be using bux or not as well as other aspects indeed blocking your way to victory. To note the enemy can place traps for your crew when you go to there ship which means your best crew members can die by a sneaky placed land mine like damn.

Conclusion
Hopefully this guide shows you how to use the training rooms effectively and how you can make your crew better so you can win more battles both in ship vs ship combat and crew vs crew combat. Good luck out there captains!
